  • I had planned on staying with this game long term. That's just how I play. I've been playing Halo: Reach from release until this game came out. For the first time in the buildup to release, and the 3 months that we've had our hands on it, I am not sure if I will stay after all. In fact this change has made me almost certain that this is not the game that I thought it would be, and that I am wasting my time. I am a father of 3 now, and with a lot of responsibility in the work place, I have a very demanding job. High stress. My video game time is a heck of a lot harder to justify these days, and I have played Destiny a LOT more than I really should be. This update, as a lot of hardcore players have expressed, is just destroying the time that I've invested, and I no longer feel that investing more makes any sense. I was a kid years ago that had all the time in the world to play, and could grind out upgrades and raids and would have had no issue hunting for new gear. I am still that kid at heart, but life has become much different and as mentioned above, game time has climbed in value significantly, due to it's rarity, compared to when I was younger. Deej, by the look of it, most of us DO NOT WANT TO REBUILD OUR WEAPONS. You are trashing all of the painful time I spent grinding upgrades. Do you realize the looks I get from my spouse or children when they say "Why are you just running around the same spot on Earth?" and I tell them that it's for this resource called Spinmetal that I need to upgrade all my stuff. My wife asked me why I was frustrated yesterday, and I told her "Remember mocking me for basically running in circles on Destiny? Well it was all for nothing. They are changing the game and basically if I want my favorite stuff to be relevant in the coming months I have to wait for more random crap to appear in order to reset it and do it all over again." I'm sorry man but you've just ruined it for me. I speak for myself, and I know I'm just one dude and you probably don't even care, but I've been a Bungie fan all my game playing life, since Myth: TFL. I NEVER thought the day would come that one of your games would just put me off to the point that I feel it's not a good way to spend time. Your Iron Banner gear is only going to be level 31? And what about my level 30 Iron Banner gear that you JUST GAVE ME. The ones that I was so excited to get and level up. I am a PvP player at heart and I was so damn excited that I could finally reach level 30 without wearing the exact same set of Raid Gear that everybody else had on. Well now, as I feared might happen, it's useless. And you aren't even going to let me reach level 32 with the new stuff. You are once again forcing us all to farm the same set of gear in order to continue progression. If you have access to it Deej, take a look at my Iron Banner playtime. I reached maximum rank of 3 during the first Iron Banner, and I reached 5 of course with the second, and ground the crap out of glimmer to buy the new weapons. Iron Banner was my favorite thing by leaps and bounds. Well you've even taken the incentive for that. It's coming December 16th and I don't even care anymore. Why would I? It won't give me anything that I can use long term, which means it's a total waste of my time. My favorite stuff currently is my Iron Banner armor and weapons, which is now old news and weak. What a put off. What a waste of all that effort and excitement. You know you've made me feel foolish for being excited like I was. I was short sighted and put too much faith in the idea that my time investment would be protected. With all that said, some might say to me "Stick with it. Give it a shot, and maybe you'll have fun upgrading your stuff and re-leveling it." My answer is "Until the next patch, maybe. And then I'll have to do it all over again." Even if I give you the benefit of the doubt, you've showed me how you guys plan on running this thing. And what, I should stick with it and put more time in until DLC 2? You've already announced it, so what, grind out this new stuff until the next round of higher level gear becomes available, and then I've wasted 6 months instead of 3? See what you're making me do here? I am now looking at the long term life of this game and assessing whether the time that I put in now even matters in a month or two. That excitement for getting stronger guns (That's been my focus by the way for about 3 weeks to a month, get stronger stuff, upgrade, be ready for the next Iron Banner... which no longer rewards me anyway.. and now the guns are all *not* the strongest like I thought I was farming to make them....) Sorry guys, but no thanks. I really wanted to be able to say that I've found my game. I typically find something fun and stick with it with a group of friends. My friends have mostly already left and I thought they were idiots for it. Well as it turns out, they just realized it sooner. I am no longer excited by the idea of logging in and making my gear better. I'm just gonna have to do it all over again later, and that's a waste of my very limited time. Xbox one NCCM4321.
