I'm with you 100%. As someone who played an MMO, (Final Fantasy XI) for over 5+ years, this is nothing new. Heck, this is nothing new if you played any sort of game that provided you with new gear at increased levels...come to think of it, most guys are like this. I'm excited that they are even allowing us to keep some of our guns relevant for the time being.

I played FFXI for about 5 years too. After grinding out sky, sea, dynamis, limbus, taking 5 hours to kill tiamat or even longer for Absolute virtue, camping Fafnir and behemoth and such, this whole game is a walk in the park. This game is barely a grind. The only thing that feels truly grindy is the raid because you can only do it once (withiut multiple chars) so youre forced to play the game for an extended period to get what you want. But then again, so many events in ffxi were weekly also so im not trippin. Its all relative. However, in ffxi i had an LS to do all these things with consistently and efficiently. Here, everything is with randoms, and theres no cohesion because of it. I think thats the hardest part of this game. If my ffxi buddies played this game, wed knock out the hard raid in less than an hr, start to finish, every time because wed all know each others capabilities and limits, everyone would know their role and we wouldnt have to even try. Man i miss ffxi lol

Yes, the linkshell factor made accomplishing tasks much easier. Two of my good friends that I played FFXI with now play Destiny so it's been really nice. Strangely, some of the randoms I've played with and done the raid with have played other MMO's and we all agree, this game is not as difficult as some of the player base is making it out to be. The matchmaking system or lack there of is pretty bad thou. What job/jobs did you play?

I played White Mage almost exclusively for any linkshell, although I did play Red Mage, Summoner, and Corsair too. Played on Diabolos until they moved servers to Siren (or was it the other way around, lol...can't remember)

FFXI is nothing like this game. Before Abyssea and Adoulin most pieces were sidegrades to one another. This was fantastic because it kept all end game activities relevant without completely resetting your progress. What bungie is doing with exotics would be like if SE told you you needed to re-farm the 30k alexandrite, 100k nyzul tokens and redo every other step to upgrade your mythic weapon from 99-119.

I wouldn't go that far...as someone who helped several friends with 99 relics, including one to 75 before Abyssea, the grind in Destiny is relatively non-existent...and Mythic weapons made Relic Weapons a joke.

Yeah...so what if I have to use the gun to kill stuff in order to make it relevenat again, I mean...what else do I do in the game? Dance in the tower? well...I do that quite often but still...
