let's saaay... you get matched up with 5 strangers for the Vault of Glass. 3 of whom play together regularly and joined in as a Fireteam, 1 who is an old fart who has miraculously made it to lvl 25 and still hasn't figured out that he has jump jets, so he only ever jumps once, and his aim sucks... and 1 is a 10 yr old hyperactive kid who thinks HE should have the relic any time it appears, yet he is the lowest level player on the team, and is utterly incompetent in using the relic... ** Do YOU want to be the 6th man on that team? ** I guaranTEE that the 3 man organized team will be out of there before you've even opened the front door. Quitting due to the frustration at the unorganized chaos and futility of it all. because you've been trying for over an HOUR to get it open! THIS is why matchmaking for the Vault of Glass will never happen. The Vault of Glass is a long and difficult mission, and if the GROUP does not work well together, it will take FOREVER, be a HORRIBLE experience, and the group will never finish. How is this going to be a good experience for you? As for "Friends" and "Strangers". I have 8 pages of "Friends" I play with. 3 or 4 have become actual friends over time, we regularly run Strikes and missions together. The other 79 people in my "Friends" list ARE strangers, whom I have played rounds with, and have found to have personalities and play-styles that mesh well with mine. I have "Friend"ed several players in the Tower or on Patrol, only to run a Strike, or unfortunately, the VoG with, and then removed them from my list because we didn't mesh well. And that's OKAY. They will find others to play with that they DO mesh well with, and they will have fun running the endgame and future content with them. Destiny is a Social game, a Shared World Shooter. BE social, SHARE the world, meet new people, maybe even make a Friend!

 • I hear what you're saying and partly agree but that is where communication should come in. I think the reason why a lot of players still haven't even tried VOG is because it's a little difficult to find 5 others players. Sometimes your stuck there in orbit for ages waiting for a full team. There has to be the option for matchmaking. Keep the current system for those who are happy with it though.

 • I run VoG on a nightly basis with LFGers and have met, on the whole, genuinely nice people and some very good players. What this guy is saying is there's always a dickhead in the party when playing with randoms (not the case FYI), so following his flawed logic, if he's in a lobby of 6 and he likes them all, he is the dickhead. #JustSaying

 • ...in a lobby of Randoms, yes, RNGesus has a chance of dropping a turd in the pool. Statistically speaking, there's also just as likely a chance that everybody will be the perfect match of play style and skills. Just as there's a possibility of getting the Vex Mythoclast for completing the Vault, or getting Ascendant Shards and Chatterwhite again. (How's everybody liking those Random Number Generated Loot Drops?) In a random number generator, the numerical sequence of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, is exactly as random as any other possible random sequence of numbers. What I actually said, is that over time, you run the already match-made missions with people, friend them if you seem to mesh -unfriend them if you don't. Eventually, you have a list of people playing this game who all run well together. That is how you get your Raid group together. Did ya miss that part? I don't believe I ever stated a statistic in which there is always a dickhead in a random group. That was, your statement... So, if you like all the people you've found to run VoG with on LFG... what's your Logic say about you? *_*
