A little reward or bonus for people who's upgrading their maxed out Exotic gear would be nice. ANYTHING would be nice, to be honest. It's a bit disheartening that someone who spent countless bounties and materials to upgrade their exotic weapon to max will soon be turned to "nothing" compared to some other player who happened to buy a new exotic weapon fresh off Xur, upgrade it, and immediately have it up to 302 attack damage. Maybe something like, giving us a level boost on the weapons up to the first ability if you converted the weapon when its fully upgraded. It's nothing much, but it's still saving us few thousands of EXP that we dumped into the weapon previously...

Meh, I threw a tantrum like the man child that I am and now I'm over it. I'll have to upgrade my exotics again, or let them sit at 300. Ok. Please, just express some variety in Xur's available upgrades. Really. Please.
-
Please let us keep the upgraded exotics and just make the new damage upgrades take longer!! That will keep everyone happy
-
Is it true that we also require a heavy amount of Glimmer to upgrade an old exotic into the 'new' level 32 band? The requirements seem high, especially as I have already upgraded all my 3 Titan helms :/ I think perhaps gifting an exotic shard for those with fully upgraded exotics would be nice.

Edited by Skank: 12/3/2014 9:20:54 PMRegarding the legendary gear replacement; is it all completely new gear? Or is it just reskinned, but better stats? And if so, what level will it take us to should we not have bought the DLC yet? Will our current legendaries also be replaced?
-
Will you consider just using an exotic shard on your already maxed exotic weapon to level it up rather than using an exotic shard on your maxed weapon, then levelling it all up again?

Edited by TheThirdSpectre: 12/3/2014 9:30:28 PMI don't think many people like this change DeeJ... Yeah ALOT of people aren't a fan of this change Why do we need to reset progression just to get an extra +23 attack? (May or may not be 23, correct me if I'm wrong)

I think it is a little harsh to have to re-earn all the experience for previous upgrades. I feel like if you've invested the time we should be able to keep the upgrades we already earned. Perhaps at the cost of 10 motes of light we keep our weapon/armor progress? I don't think Bungie wanted us to spend endless hours re-upgrading gear we've already upgraded. Just in the same way they didn't want players to run around in circles collecting materials. We want to play the new content.

Edited by Infernal_jayed: 12/3/2014 9:27:20 PMWhat is the new base attack for resetting weapons? New max attack? (323 like Vex mythoclast?) Also why can't weapons that are currently maxed just be reset to their last perk? What about people who maxed their weapons in last 2 days. They are effectively screwed out of the shard they just used. I think maxed weapons shouldn't require the exotic shard to upgrade to the new levels or at least get a headstart in the procession tree.

Edited by billycuth: 12/3/2014 9:26:05 PMIt's pretty simple, if you turn in a fully leveled exotic piece to Xur so that you can get the new version with a higher cap, you should have favor over someone trading in a blank slate exotic. I think the answer to this would be, if you trade in a 300, fully maxed exotic, or fully maxed armor piece, you get one back from Xur that is at least upgraded to that level. All you need to do is level it up from there to the cap, and spend the additional resources/glimmer to get it there. OR If you trade in a fully leveled exotic weapon or armor piece, you get some type of bonus - whether it be a combo of SCs, Exotic Shards, or something else. We shouldn't feel like we wasted umpteen hours that we spent leveling these items up while someone with an untouched version gets the same thing. I realize that we are fortunate that there is even a path being offered for our current gear to be brought forward, and I appreciate that. But looking back at that time spent and seeing that it was just thrown away would really irritate me.

Not a good idea to make it so we have to restart An option that I propose would be that we have to but the upgrade for ___ amount and then we get a second upgrade tree
-
Will Xur cycle current PS4 exclusive exotics through his weekly exotic upgrade inventory? I.e. Will we have the chance to upgrade Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo?
-
My opinion is that I really like having the ability to keep my exoctics relevent. I am glad that I will not have to search for new gear. I really enjoy my Icebreaker for example, and I am happy to learn that I will be able to keep it, even if I have to spend the time on upgrading it again. I honestly think you guys are doing great work, and I couldn't be more excited for The Dark Below. I believe that many games would have necessitated that we get all new gear, so I am glad that Destiny has found a way to let us keep our "old" gear while still encouraging us to keep playing.
-
My solution for this would be to allow legendaries to be upgraded but reset since you can level those relatively quickly while exotics can be upgraded and retain progress. This will allow players to retain their gear and explore new content while still having to work to get the more common items up to snuff without losing progress on the rarest items. The precedent this sets for future expansions is awful.

No exotic reset
Ask me your questions. Share with me your thoughts. As always, we're listening to your feedback.
None of my exotics were rest
-
We'll just have to see where it goes and how it does.

When you choose to upgrade to a higher level do you really have to restart from the beginning? So all the time and XP put into leveling up the gun disappears? This seems a bit extreme to me. Sure, I don't like it because it means even more boring grinding, etc... but also in general it seems kind of like a cheap way to extend gameplay. If this IS the case then I can see myself ignoring MOST of the Exotics I have currently upgraded (weapons at least). I guess I am kinda disappointed in this method :(
-
I played like 350h, the most part leveling exotic weapons and armours, you cant make all my effort fade away TT
-
Hi deej, what of those that have already reached a significant level with vanguard or crucible or any other factions? Will this carry over? Thanks
-
The updated stuff looks promising. Just one question regarding ranking up Vanguard/Crucible: Do we still receive random legendary loot?
-
Edited by petetheduck: 12/3/2014 9:24:44 PMWill the Exotic upgrade process function like completely discarding (receiving nothing in return) an existing Exotic and getting a brand spankin' new Exotic that will need to be upgraded from scratch? Edit: a good question being asked by others, what is the base attack value of the new Exotics? Will they start at 300? Will we be able to enter patrol with Fireteams larger than 3 players at some point?
-
At least make it when you upgrade your exotic you get some materials back because getting them is slightly annoying and a lot was put into them
