New upgrade path works fine for me - forces you to think which exotics you really value. Upgrading Ice Breaker was a no brainer. Yeah you lose the perks for a bit but they come back after a while. Would be nice to be able to do something similar with favourite legendaries. Am now sitting on a load of ascendant energy reluctant to upgrade my existing legendaries with it.

1 ReplyCan you fix the things that matter. Fix the laggy servers. Give us the option to take off auto - aim assist. Giving people rewards for actually doing something, and not to the people who go afk during crucible the whole match, and get a new exotic. It seems very unfair and always leaves a random person on your team, not playing. Things like this kill the game. More common sense is needed.

Totally irrelevant but deej im so sick and tired of doing nightfall and getting only legendary drops and coins. 9 weeks in a -blam!-ing row that has happened. Have yet to ever get an exotic to drop and im -blam!-ing sick of it

Love the game, just bought a 2nd PS with a 2nd PS+ and a 2nd copy of Destiny & a 2nd copy of the DLC! I wish the glitches with Eris didn't cause me so much grief. I have lost a murmur, didn't get the gauntlets on my 2nd char after competing the Urn... she gave me nothing when i gave her the eyes from Xur. Sometimes it's such a lot of work to get a bit of a let down. Having said that, i like the new content & the way we upgrade. I wish it didn't cost so much glimmer to upgrade the old exotics but hey, that's not the biggest deal either. I'm mostly happy :P

5 Repliesthe Nerochasm path is good. Do that for a lot of the exotics Upgrading needs to be in a lot more places, not just exotics. The new legendaries sucks, and armor needs to be upgradable (at least their stats needs transferring).

I like how the Hive Disruptor perks on the weapons make them relevant outside the Vault as opposed to VoG weapons which have limited usage outside the vault

If only the new Vanquisher was like the old one. Old Vanquisher had more range and maaaybee more stability with the right perks. That's the only reason why I haven't bought any new weapons. They're all practically high fire rate low damage and the only mid fire rate high impact is Vanquisher, but I can't buy it because of what I just said! Now I'm just waiting for Mythoclast to possibly hit the 331.

There is no path for upgrading legendaries that we really like. Alot of the new legendary weapons are garbage compared to some of the older gear. Bad decision IMHO

Edited by Ferth: 12/23/2014 1:57:31 AMRather than making every item before the dark below completely worthless you should have just added something from vendors to add a new set of three nodes to all the existing weapons and armor (including VoG items.) items that drop after the expansion could still have the new scaling, but vanguard/faction armor should have stopped at 30. vanguard/faction items would allow people to hit level 30, VoG armor would allow 31, exotics and new raid armor would allow 32. Rather than costing glimmer adding nodes to an item should be a bounty, where you need to collect things to allow the upgrade. This would allow people to continue upgrading items they've been using from the get go, would keep VoG somewhat relevant and wouldn't have been a giant slap in the face to everyone who had been playing before dark below came out. Everything about how itemization was done for dark below was lazy. The devs should be ashamed.

2 RepliesI know it's an old topic, but it got bummped and I felt compelled to reply. The upgrade path is flawed. It takes everything from the first part of the game and makes it completely useless, as well as the first raid. Normal progression would be that you have to use the first raid to gear up for the second raid..and so on. With Vendors selling the level light level gear for 31, and VoG still only being level 30, there is no reason to do VoG at all. You just flushed months of programming down the drain, and relegated a major part of the first part of your game to something people will only do "For fun". If you felt it was necessary to raise the cap for everyone, you should have made VoG gear level 31 as well. That would make the raid still relevant to people who didn't buy the DLC. Frankly I think it was still too early for an all inclusive level hike, the game was only three months old. Still plenty of playability for people who did not invest in the DLC. Plus you removed the need to level the avatars from 20 to 30 in the process. You buy the new armor and you instantly are level 30. All that exploring, bounties and in game experiences are going to be denied to people who are just starting. I really have no issue with the additions of commendations or turning in exotics for their better versions. But it will not replace what was lost over all, and makes the game much less of a "Time sink" that it was. It was a very short sighted decision.

In the old bungie videos, it showed a Thunderlord's unique upgrade system. The weapon actually had a level, and the higher the level the more unique perks it had. What happened to this system?
