Bungie was right, it's not a good idea. Granted this could be added but people will still be using LFG to avoid having total noobs in their teams. Then VoG will only be attempted by rag-tag teams of people who have no idea what to do and matchmaking use will dwindle until theres practically nobody using it.

  • Can you explain to me how it's any different from going to a random website (or even here) and asking random people to join you in the raid? Because I'm not seeing it.

  • Because on lfg there's some screening. You have to advertise yourself for people to pick you out. Say I post 29 Sunsinger lf hm. Nobody will want me. If I post 29 Sunsinger lfhm max fatebringer, ae, VoC, icebreaker, CM I'm more likely to be chosen. Matchmaking can match you up with truly random, unscreened players who may not have weapons etc

  • Why not have matchmaking options. Search for X level player with X class. He'll even put in X amount of completions. That's all tracked by bungie and people can't lie either

  • That's another story. People here are looking for matchmaking like crucible and strikes. I think you're referring to party builders in mmorpgs

  • Never played a mmorpg. Just seen games with matchmaking options. I don't necessarily care about it. But the difference between customizable searches and using a site like LFG would be negligible.

And does any of that mean you play well or simply that you finished the raid? That's the problem. Having those things mean nothing. You get them randomly. You can absolutely suck at the raid and still walk away with something that, on paper, makes it sound like you know your stuff. It also doesn't stop people from just being dicks to other players. So you see someone who claims to have all the gear to do the raid on Hard, you sign him or her up, get in the game and he/she is a total dick, not following instruction or simply not being a team player. You're right back to square one. It's no different. There are no guarantees.

  • They do mean something. It means you've at least finished it a few times and took the time to max them. There is also a twenty percent damage difference between maxed and nonmaxed weapons. Having them means you're more effective and there's a way to post your bungie or Destinydb profile to further advertise yourself. If you put someone else's profile, you won't be added so you can't lie.

  • You could have joined up with someone on the last check point, having no clue about the rest of the Raid and still "complete" the raid. I call bull. Sorry.

  • That's a very small population of people. Took me 7 hard raids to finally get a helmet and fatebringer. Even so, they will still do more damage at the least. And yes lying can happen, but they'll just get booted immediately and another will be found to replace them. I think this is why I haven't had a bad experience with lfg. There is really no use in lying, especially for hard raids as it's very difficult to carry someone through unless it's give 30s or something.

  • I'd much take my chances at lfg than a random noob

  • That's an interesting and somewhat sad attitude, as I doubt you knew every thing you had to do the first time you played. What if someone had treated you that way, booted you for simply being new to the experience? Hmm.

  • LFG also screens people in the way that people are taking the effort to do the raid, rather then match making, what happens if someone wants to sit on a raid like the strikes? Then what? It just makes more problems then its worth. LFG works fine!
