BNG: Why did you remove Materials for Marks?
When I 1st read the patch notes I was excited to see the addition of Marks for Upgrade Materials. Finally I would have something else to spend my excess Vanguard marks on. I always like when games offer you options. If you needed extra marks, you could exchange some materials, now if you need extra materials you could trade in some marks.
Of course, that excitement was quickly dashed when I discovered that you REPLACED the (Materials for Marks) with the (Marks for Materials).
Why? Do you guys have some personal grudge against choices and options? Why does everything have to be [b]one way OR the other[/b]. Why won't you provide multiple options instead of limiting us to just one? Why can't you let your players decide what they prefer to do instead of forcing everything to be all or nothing?
Instead of letting people choose if they want to play PvP or PvE, you seem to be trying to push people into both. * Why not just let people enjoy the parts of Destiny they love without punishing them for it? *
By replacing the material exchange, people have no choice but to run the crucible if they want to purchase anything from the faction vendors. Where before, if you didn't want to run the crucible, you could farm some materials, trade them in for marks, than spend them on the faction vendors.
Well, not anymore...
I just don't understand.
* Why couldn't you just remove the (reputation/glimmer) gains and leave the option to trade materials for marks? At an exchange rate of 5 to 1, would being able to swap one type of Mark for another really have been so bad? *
* You provided so many great new ways to aquire extra materials, than took away the only other feature they could be used for. *

Just go into PVP and dance, get rewarded and get your marks. Its crucible dance party time! Now if I only had a way that I didn't have too play PVP to get those marks.....

I play a couple hours every couple of days and have 21 legendaries, 12 exotics, half of both are fully upgraded, and i've never once exchanged mats for marks AND i feel like a crack addict with this game. And I've purchased the majority of those lengedaries, probably 15 of 21. Just slow the f down and go hit he treadmill or something to burn some energy

Farming is senseless from now on. This is very disappointing, cause crucible marks are now completely dominating. 3 fractions + normal crucible shop, but they are not able to get through PVE anymore.

3 RepliesThere comes a point were we all have to ask ourselves if we want to condone the way Bungie screwed many of us. Because continuing to support and play the game is all they want, this will never be "fixed". Go onto change.org sign the petition and help raise funds to Sue. Tell them this is unacceptable.

11 RepliesLmao, I hate PvP and love this update. You hate PvP so much? There is something else called the Vanguard y'know. I have never even heard of people trading materials for marks until today when I read everyone crying. "I want Dead Orbit guns though, not Vanguard!" They're the same exact guns. You'll replace them with raid weapons anyway. If you want PvP rewards, but won't play PvP, then I guess you don't want those rewards that badly.

If Hardline hadn't delayed, this is the kind of shit that would've convinced me to take a loss and trade it in. The more I play, the more the original marketing for this game sounds like a troll move. Doesn't help that it feels more and more like Halo every time I play. I expected Bungie to have grown up in the past 15 years and make a [u]good[/u] [b]shooter[/b]. I knew when I first heard "space magic" in shooter I should've tried to have my preorder credited back to my account. Cheesy ass Care Bear game, I think I'm about done with it.

2 RepliesDestiny is dead. Well, on life support with a line of people waiting to pull the plug. Get ac unity. Ubisoft fixed it and even gave a free aaa title to season pass holders as an apology with free dlc. Now ubisoft fans got 2 aaa titles for the price of one. Get the game and look me up! :)

3 RepliesBut u only got 5 marks for 50 material, that takes a lot more time than losing in crucible 3 times and getting an extra one. Or winning losing one and winning one, or winning two and getting one extra. But ya there should be some way to get those marks and rep without going into crucible. Good direction though.

4 RepliesJust wait until everyone is hiding in corners in the crucible. Not everyone wants to play pvp so you force it and we will break it. You'll never find me running around like chickens with your heads cut off I and many other are going to ruin your pvp. Better start making your own group for pvp because pvp matchmaking is screwed now.

I felt the same thing. I would max the vanguard marks every week, and having two characters already on 30 it's pointless for me to waste marks on Legendary Armor. The patch does reduce the need to loot and farm materials, but I enjoyed that stuff. Also, PvP is lame when everyone has the Exotic gun and abuses it. It makes the game less fulfilling when my Maxed out Legendary guns don't mean anything to a Rare or freshly purchased Exotic Fusion Rifle.

2 RepliesIt's obvious why they did it. I just don't agree. They can't have folks using Mats they get from the newly added ways to gain Faction. It's an in-direct way to steer you into PVP. Pretty straight forward if you ask me.
