• Destiny has very little content. Playing the same handful of missions ten dozen times does not mean there is more content.

I'm not claiming that Destiny is full of content, but I don't see how there is less content than any other game. And so far no one has been able to give me a solid answer as to how it does. Moreover I don't know how people can find a game so severely lacking in content, and yet find the energy to play for over 400 hours. The mind boggles. Feel free to name a FPS with more content though.

  • Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time, but I spent almost as much time looking at load screens and recovering from crashed as I did playing.

Is there any competitive multiplayer? Nope. Lot's to explore, but not much to do.

  • This is true. Only thing is fallout rendered itself unplayable for a bunch of people. I loved it but couldn't finish it cause it kept crashing on me. :(

  • Never had that issue. Fallout 3 was an awesome experience, and it took months to finish. None of this rinse and repeat stuff.

  • Maybe you should go play borderlands and find out for your self.

  • In other words, you have nothing to support your claim. I beat Borderlands 1, it was okay. Got bored of Borderlands 2 in about a half hour.

  • Each of those games has more content. Just because you quit playing them doesn't mean they don't.

Okay, so explain to me in what way any of those games has more content. Just because you say something, doesn't make it true. Please enlighten me. These are all games I've enjoyed but I don't see how they have more content one way or the other. I'd like to know your reason(s) for believing this.

  • Millions of randomly rolled items, even the colors are sometimes different. Each battle is always different and extremely engaging. There is a story and it doesn't need dlc to tell it. It's extremely humorous. Dinklebot could have had a better voice actor so his sarcasm and actual 'funny' lines would have been something to laugh at. Even the character skill tree is way better and more diverse than Destiny. The characters you play as are each unique and have a depth to them. Something the characters in Destiny are missing. These are just to name a few. I like Destiny, I do. However the game lacks a lot of content. Will I keep playing Destiny? Yep, you bet. It's something about the grind I love. I'm attracted to any game with grind, really.

  • Thank you, those are some valid points. A big appeal with borderlands is the loot. You open chests all over the place and they have several cool weapons. This can be fun, but half the time I found myself deleting unused weapon after weapon, or liking a weapon and finding a better one 2 seconds later. This made all the wepons feel less special to me. I think the characters are one of the best things about Borderlands, they are all very unique and vary quite a bit in their abilities. But at least for the playable characters, you're playing as a character that has their own name, and story, and abilities where as Destiny, you make your own, so naturally there is less (if any) personality to them. Borderlands has a story that's right in your face and holds little back, and can be fun and engaging for almost anyone to pick up and play. Destiny has almost no traditional story that is presented to us, but the lore behind it is expansive and deep. Unfortunately we experience almost none of it in-game, but it's there for the willing and able soul to find. I'm a very vocal proponent for Destiny, and I can admit I might be a little biased when it comes to it, but Destiny is almost the perfect game for me. I've come off a long FPS dry-spell because CoD simply is too boring now, but I always enjoyed the multiplayer because it's fast paced and I enjoy competing against other players. Halo was my favorite shooter of all time but I haven't played since Reach because I hate xbox with a passion... I also love MMORPGs - it's one of my favorite genres - but I've been unsatisfied with every one I've ever played. They don't require the skill to keep me interested, but every once in a while, I need to shut my brain off and mindlessly grind something. In traditional MMOs, however, everything I do ultimately seems for naught. Then along came Destiny. It had the framework of HALO's nearly flawless gameplay with the benefit of being able to create my own character, and use awesome abilities. The weapons give me my fix of customizing my loadout with some nice perks. So I grind and get my gear up and take them into the crucible and destroy people. Something I can't do with all the awesome stuff in a game like Fallout, for example. So grinding ultimately has some pay off for me where as most games I feel like I grind and grind for absolutely no reason. Then with the hidden story and girmoire, it gives me a lot to ponder about the world of Destiny outside of the game itself. It's for these reasons(and more) that I just cannot see Destiny as lacking in content. I love Destiny a lot, and at the very least, it's the best value I've ever gotten out of 60 bucks for a game, and it's the only game I've ever wanted to buy dlc for. I'll be playing for a long time!

  • You won't get through that thick, headed moron. He's a fanboy and will create illusions in his head just so he can defend destiny till death.
