Praedyth's Timepiece with perfect balance is actually really good in PvP. It is a laser than can burst someone down without them having time to react. In PvE I switch in the extra ammo and the thing does damage for days. also you don't get penalized for missing due to the high fire rate. That being said it is hard raid gatekeepers only so very few people actually have it because there is no way of cheesing that fight like there is for the fatebringer or VM, but if you get it I highly recommend it.
They take some getting used to just like hand cannons, and are best suited to medium range for sure. But they are definitely viable, especially Red Death. In PvP it is very underrated.

I got two in one raid. One was in my post office but I did get the "first" one on gatekeeper. Perhaps I got two at once.

You can get two of the same weapon in one drop on hard. It's stupid but it can happen because each drop from the table is randomized and not dependent on the previous drop. I've gotten two VoC from atheon in one shot, it just happens sometimes. I have a video of it on my xbox profile.

Yeah I've gotten two helmets 3 times I just never saw it with weapons.

Unfortunately it happens. If the guns got different stat rolls like gear did it would be fine, but doubles of guns are just worthless.

I see where you're coming from but the defining feature on all hard mode raid weapons are the upgrades. The normal mode weapons I would be happy with having changes every time you get them

Oh no I'm not implying I want the stat rolls to change with each drop, I'm saying that because they don't doubles on the same drop are stupid and unneeded.

The Templar drops both the fusion rifle and pulse rifle on hard. Even gotten both on oracles. No checkpoint restrictions. Only on Atheon it seems to not drop.

oracles=PF templar=FB gatekeepers=TP everyone knows this. you just got confused because you didnt check between phases

Look at the loot tables, gatekeeper hard mode only for the timepiece. Praetorian foil is oracles and gatekeeper on hard, gatekeeper only on normal
