Try using the stranger's rifle.
It still slays 10 levels later.

The strangers rifle is the best kept secret in the game. I am always top of the board with it. When will people learn attack doesn't matter in crucibles.

Not really good for pve, there attack does matter. I personally use fair and square fully leveled for most of my pve.
