You mean the same heavy ammo that you can easily buy with glimmer from the gunsmith? Is this a joke post or am i missing something here?

Well 2 ways to get heavy ammo. For some it's easier to use glimmer and some coins are easier. For me coins because I just used glimmer on iron banner. Let's look at the time of each to acquire. One weekly = 10-20 minutes and get 9 coins 9 coins can purchase 45 heavy ammo synth How long does it take you to get 950 glimmer= Depends on glimmer consumables but it's some decent time and To buy 45 ammo synth you need 42,750 glimmer. How long will that take you to get that?? [b]42,750 glimmer !!! [/b] My guess is way more then 10-20 minutes spent in one weekly strike.

You're missing something. This is my biggest problem with the game right now. It's cruel they took the heavy ammo away. You need that for hard mode raid and using glimmer is not a solution, you don't get nearly enough of the stuff

Are you saying that still isn't enough for raids? And aren't there any heavy ammo drops in raids, or are they scarce?

Still not enough stupid ass wtf do you not understand are you numb? 5 ammo packs for 1 coin. I would buy 100 a week. Do the -blam!-ing math moron how much glimmer is that? 950x100= 95,000 glimmer a week. I don't know about you but farming 95k of glimmer a week is dumb as shit. They took it away do we can't spam rockets I'm crota raid. Sick of bungie controlling the way we play.

Not everyone who buys it from the armory farms glimmer. I just buy it to keep my glimmer from capping. I rarely use it in the raids as well. I get buying in bulk though especially if you see no other use for the coins. The way you view the coins is the way I, and others, view glimmer. Neither is right or wrong just personal preference.

Not at all lol. That was not my intentions. Only to suggest different strokes for different folks. I'm an icebreaker and auto rifle guy as opposed to someone that uses more special. I will use the rocket launcher or heavy gun ocassional but not regularly. Everyone has their own play style that works for them. People will use what they feel works the best and what best fits their play style. If you ever wanna play man hit me up. Looks like you have never been surrounded by level 30 vex and a praetorian getting close. Looks like you have never had to use your rpg to kill an oracle cause if you stop to recharge your other weapons it would be to late to destroy it. Or have you ever carried a group of new people against Atheon? That's why you don't think the heavy weapons are necessary.

Actually I have done the raid on hard several times. I didn't say they aren't useful, I stated that I personally don't use them that much. I use them if necessary in the 30 raid and the occasional rocket launcher when I wanna end a strike quick. I use primary and secondary 98% of the time I play. Even on the 30 raid. Beat it last night at lvl 29 with 3 other 29s and 2 30s. I only used my heavy when the reset screwed me on primary and secondary ammo. It's just personal play style. I'm not bashing anyone. I just constantly cap my glimmer doing the weeklies and bounties so I use glimmer to buy mine. Nothing else I could buy with it.

considering that you could buy 5 HAS from xur for one coin or 5 for almost ALL of your glimmer, i think it's safe to say that yes. you are missing something. SOMETHING PRETTY BIG.

5 doesn't cost all your glimmer, especially if it's maxed or close to max. I regularly buy 5 heavy ammo just to keep my glimmer down to around 20,000 as it gets maxed easy and I think that the heavy ammo might be handy one day - which appears to be the case for raids, though I've not raided yet

It takes many packs of ammo, often totally wasted when you get a wipe or need to force one due to a mistake too early... you can easily go through 3-5 packs in a hard mode raid, more if you do Templar legit. Multiply that by 3 each week... 15 packs x 950 glimmer is 14,250... That is a lot of glimmer

I'm just letting you know how it was useful to avid raiders. what ever coins we didn't spend on weapons and armor from xur went to heavy weapons and it was an incredible boon to our ability to raid and get multiple teams through so you'll have better equipped players for the next time you take a team through. to me anyway, xur's heavy ammo synth's made it really easy for me to pay it forward. I carry some people through the raid (even if i've already done it that week.) then they get better gear and I have more people to help me do it next week and the higher their lvl gets, the better their equipment gets and the better their weapons get the easier and easier the raid is to complete in the following weeks. Xur selling the synth's just made it easier to get the ball rolling. It'd didn't affect pvp and since the raid will take heavy ammo from you when you die while wearing heavy armor you kinda NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED heavy ammo synths to replenish what the glitchy raid takes from you. so it wasn't unfair, so i don't see why they took it out, i'm sincerely baffled by it. maybe bungie just wanted to make their game even less playable. certainly been good at that lately.

I can see what you mean. Then it [i]is[/i] odd that bungie removed the ammo. It might be that they realised it could make the raid easier than they wanted, as they seem quick to remove any exploits, no matter how small, that interfere with the way they intend you to play the game. The ammo removal does seem harsh, though

like i said, it doesn't affect it's difficulty, it counter acts the glitch where you lose heavy ammo when you die while wearing the raid armor. so we need the ammo synths to replenish what we lose.

So if they did remove it, they've either sneaked it in under the radar, or maybe it's a mistake and only temporary, or perhaps xur isn't meant to sell ammo every single week for some reason In fact, one of the things that concerns me abit about destiny is bungie's tendency to keep moving the goalposts

starting glimmer: 22295 total ammo synths' bought : 23 remaining glimmer: 445 Xur sold a bundle of 5 for 1 coin. it is more cost effective from xur. by a mile, and for players like me and other raid carries this was the only reason xur was useful, so we could drag under equipped, under leveled, idiotic or new players through a hard mode raid without breaking our freaking bank.
