What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

1 ReplyKilled a guy with my level 4 handcannon in the crucible. Walked over to his body and started teabagging him. Crouched right over him and shot one round into his head. I guess the "impact" was too much up close and I ended up being killed via "misadventure." :/ I've learned to just teabag now.

Running a Sepiks Prime strike for the bounty. Run the thing at least 100 times at this point (Multiple characters) lining up a rocket shot to take out a cluster of cloaked vandals and a ****ing dreg comes up behind me as I fire. Seems his hit box was just inside my firing line for the rocket. Kind of embarassing to blow yourself up on a level 8 strike.

I accidentally killed myself with a rocket launcher when I was detained in the VoG. The team thought I was a noob.

Doing gatekeeper on hard mode I was killing a praetorian and backed right off the edge! Dumba$$!!

All i know is never throw a Tripmine at Supplicants or Thralls guys, that is a lesson I learned the hard way.

Shooting fusion rifle in the inside of Titan bubble and skip round bounce back and kill me

Twilight Gap, heading to B from A, guy standing in the doorway in wall. Went to shotty slide kill him. He jumped, "extended slide" upgrade slid my ass right over the cliff.

Just about to beat the nexus on nightfall solo with my Titan. He had about a quarter health left I pulled out my yolohorn shot the first shot then he started shooting me so I backed up and shot the ground.... Sending me to orbit....

Edited by Grimmex: 12/8/2014 3:34:37 AMI just had spawned in on Mars and took off on my tumbler sparrow looking to do some tricks. Went off of that first cliff right in front of you and did two front flips right into the middle opening of those little cabal circle bases and face planted and died.

1 ReplyI was working on the bounty for the Pocket Infinity this week, the part where you need to kill enemies in the Weekly Nightfall. I completed the bounty on the last group of goblins before the Nexus and thought, well what the hell, lets finish this solo. I stayed up top and was picking away at the Nexus and turning and dealing with the Minotaur as it spawned. After a fairly intense couple of minutes (thank you Solar Burn) the Nexus falls! I did it, solo'd my first nightfall! I drop down to collect whatever triangle item reward from the boss, and didn't survive the drop...

So imagine this: you have a 100 kills without dying bounty. You need some spirit l so you decide to go to venus and pick up some and also complete this bounty while you're at it. You head down and everything's just peachy. You got your spirit bloom and are wrecking those level 11 scrubs as a level 27 Titan. You're at 83 kills. You come across a group of dregs in a clearing as you scale a rock pillar. Triumphantly, you drop down, ready to feed them some buckshot from your Invective... And activate your jet pack too early and fall with a sickening crunch. But, the fall doesn't kill you, oh no, that's not punishing enough. Instead it drops your health to a literal sliver. All of those dregs and vandals you were previously mocking turn around and finish the job with their level 11 peashooters. On a side note, did you know that captains can teabag? I left venus in shame.

My friend was driving a speeder and he hits a ramp and I jump up and get killed by it on Mars, and I had the unstoppable bounty and get 100 kills without dying one

Punched a dreg and my Titan exploded my friend was just like what the -blam!- just happened while he was laughing his ass off. Still not sure what happened, it just said misadventure.

I once was gonna nova bomb a group of people in a control match on shores of time but when one of them chucked a grenade at me it detonated both it and the nova in my face. Upside is an enemy was trying to melee me from behind and the vortex claimed him! XD

I threw my trip mine to kill the supplicants but it didn't kill them. I started to jump away and my trip mine killed me. I was the last person alive outside and atheon would have been dead on that last port.

I tend to grab the relic very often on hard Atheon. Every time I exit the portal I jump and use the super before landing which conveniently stops you dead and drops you perfectly on the center platform. Just the other day I forgot to check if the super was charged before jumping to the middle. My whole group watched as I sailed completely over the platform and to my death as it wasn't fully charged when I went to hit it :(

Attacking B on Mars, damage group of enemies, take cover to recover slightly, pop back out to throw lightning grenade as Titan, stick it to wall in front of face instead.

Also, as a Titan use the Discharge skill and punch something next to something explosive, i bet you'll never use that skill again

Greatly underestimating the aerial lunge distance of fist of Havoc on the big pack of goblins on the nexus strike just before getting to Sekrion. Fist of Doom clear into the chasm and killing nothing expect myself

Doing the daily heroic mission of the Black Garden today & on entering the darkness zone prior to looking out on the garden for the first time my Titan died jumping down some steps... like 5-6 steps & died?!
