I beat this nightfall solo
Weekly Nightfall Strike : Ocean of Storms, Moon.
The summoning pits, Phogoth.
I always been doing Nightfall's solo until bungie decided to patch it and make it much harder for us to do solo.
Guess, what bungie.. i beat the nightfall solo in one run.
If you're doing solo, phogoth can kill you within 1 second. Void burn is enabled, and the light attack coming from phogoth is void.
It's just stupid to make things much harder than they already are because YOU bungie, want us to play the way you want us to play.
We already doing a lot things and stuff with friends. Don't force us to play the way you want us to play because it's just stupid.
I am sure you're going to make it much much harder in the future so it would be impossible to do it solo. Why? because you bungie, want us to play the way you want us to play lol.
Edit: Reward = a legendary fusion rifle. The calming <_<

Edit: those who say the weekly heroic strike is easier. You are all wrong.
When doing Nightfall solo, if you die.. it's gameover.
When doing the weekly heroic strike. If you die, you can continue from a checkpoint.

1 ReplyFor everybody below saying that they don't see a difference in difficulty since the patch, you are dead wrong. Void burn on, but void weapons don't even dent a shield? What's the point of having a burn at all? It should not take 3 rounds from a maxed out Truth to take down a yellow health knight with an arc shield. And seriously, what is the point of void burn anyway? Not a single baddie in this nightfall has a void shield, which pretty much negates any burn benefit for the player, but makes it so a red health acolyte can burn you down in 2 bursts. How does that work. In closing, I would like to point out that nightfall isn't worth the grind anymore. U get better, guaranteed rewards from the 28 Heroic

This nightfall was easy to solo. Shot Phogoth with my maxed 77 Wizard from the doorway. With void burn he died in less than 10 min.

Like a lot of things in life Nightfall is more fun with a friend (or two...) Deej responded either here or Reddit that the solo strikes were a little harder after they rescaled to make co-op scale up less. It should be easier with 2-3 than 1. Makes more sense to me.

People complain about doing it as a team and they fix it.... Now you idiots are complaining about it being too ha arts to do it alone. You did it so obviously it's not that hard.. Get over it.

3 RepliesHad I not been screwed over (being killed by the Shreiker while in my Titan Bubble) I'd have done it solo too. Hardest part of this strike solo is actually the three waves of enemies when Dinklebot is unlocking the door. Counted at least 6 Wizards including the three rather nasty ones during the last wave, and that's not even taking into account the Knights who refuse to come out from cover either!

15 RepliesI totally agree. I have done every nightfall solo but I tried twice yesterday and failed so I actually ended up getting a team to complete it. Sad thing is I too got a Calming fusion rifle : ( My problems started before phogoth on my first solo run. I couldn't for the life of me bring down the -blam!-ing shields And do damage before they ran and hid to regen their shields. Second attempt Pho on shot me...hooray this is fun. I'm so glad Destiny wants me to make new friends this badly

I said eff it and went back to the tower and recruited a lvl28 for some extra help and it was a little easier. Hey, made another gaming friend out of it. Normally I would be cautious, so I don't what happened last night. I was probably just playing like I did pre-patch...

Yeah was a bit harder to do solo this time, but truth did a good job on that (finaly something that makes it usefull besides pvp) rewards were 6 coins on my hunter, dead orbit sniper rifle for my titan - unlucky rng roll these week.

Seriously you have a point. The only exotics I've gotten from nightfall was patience and time. That was the first week I did it. I got truth too but I had already received 4 of them so I'm not counting that. For 6 coins or ascendent materials and crap legendary weapons it's almost not worth the effort.

9 RepliesHow did you kill phogarth? It took us 20 minutes with 3 of us dying multiple times just to kill him alone. I'm astounded at how anyone could do it solo without sitting in some sort of hiding place and firing one shot at a time

The phogoth strike is almost impossible to do without running to the back room with the shrieker inside. Bungie needs to fix this because it shouldn't be like that. Great job Bungie

The calming is one of the best. Has a wicked fast charge time. Mine is arc. Better than my nightfall reward. Some legendary pulse rifle pox something.

I have pretty much given up on the nightfall. The reward just doesn't justify the time and effort. Don't get me wrong I love a good challenge but why waste time doing an insane mission solo for 6 coins when I am guaranteed "9" for the weekly! As for the chance at an exotic weapon, there are 2 I still want G-horn and Ice Breaker. Hoping Xur will make my Friday with one of those. Plus I have received 2 exotics just doing Tiger strikes which are super easy at level 29.

Agree. Feels like children work at bungie. They don't like the way we play so they force changes. You'd think game glitches and disconnects would be their top priority. Nope

I started soloing nightfalls because it was tough but fun. The reward was meager for the effort but the buff diminished the horrid rng sting. I solod this nightfall with all void weapons and it was just insane how bad it was. The reward did not match the effort. I ran the nightfall again on another toon but this time with a full fireteam. Wow the difference is HUGE.
