Edited by sciss: 11/25/2014 8:07:39 PMWait, how? *edit* apparently using exploits to finish the raid grants you the title real 30 but playing 80 crucible matches means you're a fake I guess this means I get to be both '3' 10/10
-
yea the stupidity of the community amazes me every time I open the app lol personally I like the way the banner armor looks compared to the raid gear
-
I saw another poll that showed the majority of the community doesn't care.
-
I got to rank 4 on both of characters without a party in a couple of days and that took work. I did the raid 12 with my warlock and not one piece of raid gear
-
I like to believe Iron banner is the raid of crucible and it is the job of level 30 to from the raid to go there and make me claw tooth and nail for level thirty
-
lolz, that's a thing? really? I must have all these people muted..

Edited by shockwaveDS13: 11/25/2014 11:43:09 AMEDIT 2 At least it shows that people who got lvl 30 through Iron banner either suck or tried so much and couldn't get armour from raid BUT if raid is not their thing and more into the PVP then great you got your self a advantage here. . I got mine on 9th so i'm pretty lucky that it didn't go any higher than that. So just to sum it up in my opinion. * If you're committed then you deserve the raid gear *If you're sh*t at raid or not committed to the Iron banner then you don't deserve to be lvl 30 and maybe classed as a fake lvl 30. To be honest I could careless, but it just something I thought to put my comment across and seeing as I made mistakes, I'm sorry but for the butt hurt kids stfu. EDIT If you're thinking of getting armour from Iron Banner than at least keep on trying the Raid. Because at the end you're just taking a easier path that really requires no patience or care.

Just like many others, after weeks of raiding on multiple characters I never got more than 1 armor piece. After getting the IB boots to get me to 30 I was able to do the hard raid easier this week and magically the rest of the gear i needed dropped. I don't care which way I got to 30 as long as I did. Other's and their opinion will be annoyed because they were lucky enough to get drops while others had a guaranteed 2 level 30 items. While Those that don't have the time/patience to raid /pve hated those that did. It's just the way people are built and nothing can stop it. At the end of the day those who hate on what they don't have or those that hate others for getting what they have are just best left ignored.

Sadly, society has created a generation or two of narcissistic, special snowflakes that rely on gamer score, rng luck, and such things to make up for their lack of real life accomplishment.
-
Welcome to the online gaming community where people waste hours arguing about all sorts of stupid things like real lvl 30s in Destiny, Sonic's arms being blue in Sonic Boom and there being too much water in the Pokemon remakes of Ruby and Sapphire. Usually I just point and laugh. It makes the stupidity easier to swallow.
-
So apparently if I own: Vision of confluence Atheon's Epilogue Praedyth's Revenge Corrective Measure Glass Minuet XVO "Timebreaker" Raid chestpiece for my hunter Raid gauntlets for my hunter But have the iron banner boots, my hunter can never be a "real" 30?
-
I only play PvE with lvl 30 raid gear players and PvP with 30 ib gear
-
I want to get to 32 when the expansion comes out and make a post like: I'm a real level 32- If you were below 30 before and got raid gear after vog your not a true 32. I'll try to think of some pointless thing to argue about
-
I've never seen an argument about something so stupid
-
People will debate on anything. That's why we have so many politicians running mouths everyday but nothing gets done

Edited by dan3gerou5: 11/25/2014 4:25:47 PMI think alot of people lack critical thinking, and sum up their emotions as "fake 30". when I look at the situation, to be honest, I was a little upset (? idk if that's the right word) at the fact that Bungie was making lvl 30 meaningless now. It was not so much jealousy, but bothered by the consistent "no child left behind" approach that Bungie has decided to cater to lately. More bothered by the fact that there is absolutely nothing in this game that could be considered sacred or a grail. Everything has been stomped on and devalued to please the casual or low skill player. Its the grinders who log the hours, spend the money, make the community. Its the low skill player who reaps the benefit.

A Lvl 30 is Lvl 30 I don't care about your gear, You made it right?
-
I've got full maxed raid gear but use the iron banner armour because it looks cool
-
On my first raid ever I got the helmet and gauntlets, took about two hours. I worked my ass off for my IB greaves took a good 5 hours of grinding rep. So you tell me which one is harder?
-
How can this even be a legitimate topic to debate about...
-
The IB was a very welcome addition. I was in need of Raid Boots to reach level 30. Did a fresh VoG normal run this week and every reward was ascendant energy. So then I decided let's check out IB... These boots look pretty cool. I think I'll get the gloves as well. Now my Raid Gauntlets are taking up space in the vault. Thank you IB! Now I can start running the Hard mode as well as I had made a conscious decision to avoid it until level 30. Never want to feel like I'm relying on teammates to "carry me".
-
I don't care if you got to level 30 through IB or the Raid, 30 is 30. If you want to stand out show them how you earned level 30 through your play style. I seen alot of Kats and played with alot of Kats that are level 30 that still don't know how to hold the relic, so what that tell you? I'm glad Bungie made another way for you to make level 30 it give everybody an opportunity to grind for what they need in their own way.
-
The underlying cause of this debate can be summed as the "Look at me, notice me, I'm special" feeling. People mask it using the term "earned" but in the end all it is is a complaint about the influx of Lv30s to the Tower. Which is sad. In both the Raid and the Iron Banner, reward is never guaranteed. On one hand you have to pray to RNGesus to drop the gear you need, the other you have to pray that your team doesn't suck in order to get Rep. Furthermore, I strongly caution against saying one is easier than the other. Both have their own unique sets of challenges. But outside the different objectives of the two, both require a coordinated team of six players and both require ample time to complete. One also has to keep in mind that this is a Bungie game, and Bungie didn't get to where it is because its fanbase was primarily composed of PvE players solely focused on playing Halo's campaign over and over. So is it any surprise that there are more PvP players in a Bungie game than there are groups of six coordinated PvE players to play a Raid and that when Lv30 gear was made available in Crucible that there wouldn't be an influx of Lv30s? Guardians should be able to decide their own fate about how they reach level 30. But for those who saw the decision to include Lv30 gear in the Iron Banner as a shock and were mad about it: first, don't get too attached then to your future Lv32 Raid Gear and second, I highly advise you end your attempts at trying to decide the fates of other Guardians just because of your own greedy wants.

No wonder my fun shot poop.

I agree with you. I didn't really participate in the Iron Banner because I'm not terribly skilled at multiplayer for the Banner. I kept getting slaughtered. I'm also working on my Thorn bounty so I didn't want to lose my points. However you get to 30 is whatever. Both ways are earned. One side you earn through multiple runs on the Vault, the other side you earn through wholesale slaughter of guardians.
