FIX YOUR SERVERS IT REALLY REALLY IS A PROBLEM ON YOUR SIDE (PROOF)

For the last few days I've had many, many problems while trying to play your game. I'm not going to go into detail of each animal/fruit I've gotten because its obvious you don't really want to know (if you did, your error messages would include meaningful technical information instead of some generic broad paint code that amounts to very little). So, what I did was use a secondary access to the Internet. Its a different ISP from my normal one which I only use when on vacation. So I charged it with some money and connected to it. It did not take more than five minutes for the animals to come rushing in. So, to recap: 1. I play Destiny on ISP #1 for a couple of months. No problems, hundred of hours logged (check my account). 2.Lately, for some reason, I can't finish any activity without getting a truckload of animals/fruits. Still the same setup and ISP. 3. Since nothing changed on my side I seriously doubt its my problem, still I connect using ISP #2. 4. Same exact problems - one animal after another. I really want an answer from Bungie on this. A broad generic "we are working on it for the general population and maybe some day you'll be lucky that our fix also helped you" won't cut it. You sold me a product that is non-functional unless it has an online connection and said connection is not working therefore your product is useless to me. In particular, I want to know from you WHAT EXACTLY THE PROBLEM IS. Is it a timeout on a specific port ? a number of ports ? latency too high ? packet drop ? WHAT ? There is no magic on Internet Networking. You make it look like some weird science when it is not. If an exception occurs we can at least know EXACTLY what the exception was even if admittedly there maybe a number of causes to it, but it is a million times better to know WHAT HAPPEN then to tell me 'hey dawg, you just got the baboon error, deal with it'. edit: just spotted this tweet from Bungie: https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/536413654128676865 edit2: word on the net is that destiny and aw are under ddos attack ?? http://gamingbolt.com/destiny-servers-are-being-ddosed-facing-connection-issues edit3: I've been able to play for the last hour or so with no issues. hopefully this is a result of bungie working behind the scenes. also trimmed this post a bit now that my blood pressure has come down. edit4: Okay, so after a few days of fairly smooth sailing, its zoo time again. Great! I can't play again, kicked into orbit again and again, can't even get to the tower. Nothing changed, nothing is different, still business as usual on connectivity around the house except for this stupid game the decides to act up again. It is very unfortunate for me that there is no other fps on the PS4 that I want to play. That's the only thing stopping me from putting this game on the shelve and never touching it again. I noticed Bungie sent an email to two of my early accounts inviting me to tell my friends to try the free period. BUNGIE, U NUTS ?? All I can say to my friends is STAY AWAY FROM THAT PIECE OF CRAP OF A GAME, WHEN IT WORKS ITS GREAT BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DOESN'T WORK A LOT OF TIMES. :(

  • only time you are going to hear from deej is when he i trying to sell you something. they dont care that the fedora wearing neckbeards at Bungie cant properly configure their servers to run on a standard home network. can play every one of the 30 games i have without a problem.. but yeah problems on my end

  • Getting kicked to orbit or out of the game entirely is one thing....its also quite annoying when you get kicked in the middle of a mission... But recently my PS3 signed me out too....so far its only been with Destiny

    • Mine isn't even giving me an error code, it doesn't even get that far. The animated logo in the bottom right corner just keeps cycling. This is disappointing.

    • the same thing has been happening to me also, whenever i play with/without friends. i get the same 3 or 4 animal error codes . FIX THIS NOW BUNGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • I'm constantly getting booted off this garbage game. It wasn't really an issue until about a week ago. What's sad is I remember 5-6 years ago when Halo 3 came out and xbox live ACTUALLY WORKED!!! AMAZING!!!! How is it that now you can't even connect and maintain a connection to a server? How is Bungie is regressing? This is ridiculous. Will they offer us any restitution??? Nope. No money back, no free content...rather, here's a promise for $30 DLC, which won't work because your base game doesn't even work. No one can play any part of the game because inexplicably we have to constantly be online. You can't even contact Bungie, they just have you post on this stupid board so they can tell us what WE have to do to fix the problem. Sorry Bungie, but this is your problem. Sending us all off to try and reconfigure our routers, go through troubleshooting steps, and pull our hair out while we try to fix YOUR issue. I think we would all love our money back. Please. Do something. Provide an answer. Put some effort into actually producing a game THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE PLAYED. What a concept. No question this is the last Bungie product I ever buy. Ever. Your company is terrible and your customer service doesn't exist. It seems there should be some sort of civil suit that should be able to be brought against this crappy company. After all, this is essentially robbery. You promise a product we paid for, then you haven't delivered over an extended period of time. Therefore, we gave you money for what, exactly????

        • Keep getting errors mostly when in a fire team. What's the point in a shared shooter if you can't team up. Especially now its been made harder to solo anything. Would have bought the dlc but won't now until this game is fixed. Never had a game before where an error not only boots you out of the game but also disables the PS4's WiFi. This really needs sorting.

          • I would like to see class action law suits drawn up on developers that fail to deliver what they advertise as their seems to be a more regular trend to unfinished games coming out now days. with absolutely no support or recourse for the consumers affected by this obviously unfinished product. But hey here's a dlc for you to buy and we're still working to resolve the other issues suckers

            • i just tried to log in after a week and i still cannot stay connected for more than 30 second . its been about three weeks of this ! i want my money back . you failed to deliver on the product i was buying ! i will never tell anyone to buy this game or trust bungie again !

            • The issue is definitely at Bungies side as it is their Destiny servers that call the shots. Their service is not tolerant enough to fluctuations in net traffic and that is what is causing the disconnects. Some ISPs probably behave different to others globally. Some ISPs may send your connection through a complex route to get to the Destiny servers. Still there needs to be far more resilience at their end to any slight changes at your end or somewhere along the journey.

                    • I really thought this would be fixed by the 2.44 GB update. First two days were going smooth and then I got [i]another[/i] update (this one with around 400 MB) for I don't even know what and THEN I started getting kicked with codes such as buffalo, rabit, bees, weasels and so on. Bungie, it is not our connection because the million people that play Destiny obviously do not play under the same root of internet.

                      I'm really only getting dc'd maybe 2,3-4 times a week, luckily never during a long event. But it is always on the Bungie end, that's for sure. The number of bugs has vastly increased since the update. Lags, sound glitches, mission glitches, flashes of things on the scrren. Played yesterday and all the reward notifications just flashed for about 1/2 a second, both above the ammo indicator and in the orbit scenes, multiple times. Also having issues with the music...either not stopping, being too loud, etc. I can't hear my chests and loot...dammit.

                            so I spend my money on a game get to level 29 then did this game buy a -blam!-ing zoo baboon elk kingfish but mainly baboon I can do vog but nothing else :(
