I don't know how many times I've been rushing around the map to win, only to find out there is now 2-3 of us left because people have backed out to prevent the loss.
People leave control when they have 2 bases to our 1 but are 0 points ahead.
This is ridiculous! I've had the same thing happen over and over again, more so with Iron Banner than any other.
My suggestion, punish them! Prevent them from queuing for anther match for 10 minutes. This way they are better off staying and at least trying rather than wimping out to get another game quicker. There has to be something done or PvP just becomes more of a joke.
Agree? Or disagree? Let the votes show their power!
*Edit*
This is assuming Bungie can tell the difference between disconnected players and leavers, which they should be able to.
There is a clear indicator of people leaving. 'Go to orbit' is somebody clearly leaving intentionally.
There will be other punishments that can be implemented, a 10 minute delay to start a new game was just an example.
-
As long as you don't get punished for disconnects, then sure.
-
If there is a system added to punish leavers bungie better make sure that the people who are kicked because of the shitty bungie servers shouldn't be punished
-
-
Yes! Punish those who join a losing match and want to leave! How dare they not want to lose that game because they had shitty team mates!
-
The punishment is no rewards. Just think, if your playing iron banner and you stay when they leave you can still work on bounties and get your token, your still going to get what you would have for winning or close to it. The people that leave are making a mistake of giving up free XP at a later time. Unless they disconnect, power goes out, they have to go for whatever reason for somthing more important. Just enjoy the game.
-
Last night during an IB match the notifications showed everyone left the team (friendly and enemy) except for one. All disconnect. So long as they can tell the difference, then sure.
-
Bump for more ideas.
-
It should cost one IB medallion to go to orbit in the IB. If you don't have one, you can't leave. Shouldn't lose a medallion if kicked by an animal code though. Just an idea.
-
lol why do they even leave anymore? you get the rep, if not a bit more even if you lose now as long as you win at least once in 5 games...oh. Well I guess make some friends online and team up to win? I have yet to have this be an issue yet though so have that grain of salt ready :/
-
Yeah, get put in a lobby with 6 red bars and don't leave.

Edited by ShadowSpine: 11/23/2014 6:04:19 PMWhat if someone has to suddenly get off destiny because of an emergency. Or they lose connection? Because we all know how awesome the PVP connection is on destiny. What if the power goes out? You get punished for something totally out of your control. Sure people leaving sucks. We've all been there. But if it becomes a punishment and you get screwed somehow because bungie disconnects you or Sony goes down. I'm pretty sure that is worse. And then you will see people really pissed off. The way it is now is just better. So suck it up Boy'o *edit* Makes sense when they select go to orbit. Still will suck when you change characters and forget your weapons, or your guild is in VoG and needs your help suddenly. There are always situations that will frustrate us either way. It's like a game you can't save without a save/checkpoint and something comes up and "blam" you have to run to the bank before they close or something. This will just give way to players going afk in the crucible or iron banner.

Edited by Trestero: 11/23/2014 6:00:51 PMIf I've got full medallions or the other team is using all Suros and they reach 3000-4000 within a few minutes? I'd unplug my PS4 if it let me leave. Nobody deserves that pain and forgive me for not being a masochist.
-
you can't punish ppl for leaving a game that disconnects ppl randomly and frequently.
-
No. One, I used to be kicked frequently from games. Bloody bee codes.. Two, there are times you get put into a game where there is no way it'll be turned around or a game so laggy you can't even open the doors but are getting shot through walls.
-
Don't. Because if it puts me into the middle of a losing game, you can bet I'm immediately going back out.

Edited by Necronial: 11/23/2014 5:30:31 PMI played a good 12+ games last night and only once did 4 people leave the other team, but that was because they were in a fire team and the leader must have rage quit. The medalions were a good idea, not the cap of 5 since any1 with 5 is just going to quit to find a game they will win, but otherwise a good idea. I wonder what would happen if everyone on the other team left, would it end and give rewards instantly? Personally I don't care what happens to them at least I still get my 80% chance for 0 rewards drops when its over while they get a 100% chance of no rewards........don't forget they still have to wait to get into another game after spending time in one and them quitting.
-
Ye i'd rather not be punished, i leave if i get put in late out of principle. Plus i rather hate the pvp and want to play as little as i can to get my grimoire score from it
-
agree but you can add strikes too ^^
-
When I see a stupid -blam!-ing team, and I already know that I'm not getting TL (because of the L), I'm leaving. Deal with it. I already don't like PVP, so torturing me won't help.
-
I don't care they buy the game for pve mostly likely
-
Then no one will play just you stay or leave stop with punishment we buy the game they Need to fix pve

Edited by Flufuzz: 11/23/2014 12:31:45 PMI guarantee the people saying no will be children who leave repeatedly.
-
But...but...Bees...an..and...Canary... :(
-
i have been saying this since day 1! quit and you lose rep = end of quiting
-
Some people can't help the fact they leave. Specially when you consider how many errors there are and how often you get them. Also the other night it was 2 v 6 the second member of my team quit or lagged out so I quit. I'm not staying in a 1 v 6 or even 2 v 6
-
What about error codes...
