Up on top you have two players taking shots at the boss who can constantly destroy them especially when he decides to shoot at the upper rim because his splash damage and radius are very high. Maybe I'd be pissed too though when my team decides to stick up top while I decide to hop down. Oh wait. Won't happen to me.

But it is the same when you hop down. Try to enter boss encounters as last of your team and then simply fit in. As a team of three the likings of two members of the team outweigh the likings of one. Using Safezones is legit and actually I prefer my teammates to do anything they can not to waste my time. I'm not better off if they decide to do encounters the ballsy way and rush the boss if they cannot survive that. There is no question that things like the Atheon glitch are not to be used as oneshooting a boss is a clear exploit. But other than that strategic positioning is the meat and potatoes of intelligent gameplay.
