So you wanted FREE DLC? Look no further...

Dear Bungie (and Activision), I am one the many thousands of people that bought Destiny as a pre-order (season pass included), because I believed in you. I believed in the promise of a great game that never came to be. I am one of the many thousands of people that was disappointed on day one, and continues to be disappointed two months in... So I think this piece of news (though from a couple of weeks ago) feels extremely relevant: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/06/the-witcher-3-will-receive-16-dlc-packages-free-across-all-platforms You read that right, CD PROJEKT RED, developers of The Witcher series will have 16 DLC packages for FREE on their upcoming The Witcher 3 game. These are not only some skins and customes for your characters, it also includes new quests and missions. Which by the way are not the same quests repeated all over again with slightly more difficult enemies. Some interesting words from the CEO of CD PROJEKT RED upon release of this news:
As gamers, we nowadays have to hold on tight to our wallets, as surprisingly right after release, lots of tiny pieces of tempting content materialize with a steep price tag attached," said Iwiński. "Haven’t we just paid a lot of cash for a brand new game? As CD PROJEKT RED, we strongly believe this is not the way it should work and, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we have decided to do it differently. Cutting to the chase, everyone who buys Wild Hunt will receive 16 specially prepared DLCs absolutely for free, regardless of platform. You don’t have to pre-order, you don’t have to buy any special edition to get them -- if you own a copy of Wild Hunt, they’re yours. This is our way of saying thank you for buying our game.
You read thar right too, free DLC, regardless of platform, regardless of pre-order status and regardles of Collector's Edition, etc.... Take note Bungie/Activision. I pre ordered The Witcher 3 (and bought the previous 2 games) out of pure support to a developer that GETS IT. Best Regards, Disappointed N°1526187 Edit: This piece of information is posted below I feel some people here need a bit of a history lesson. The Witcher 1 came out in 2007 with generaly favourable reviews. People complained the voice acting was lacking and there were some bugs here and there. What did these guys do? They released patch after patch after patch with nothing but improvements to the game, they RE-RECORDED the voice acting (Dinklebot rings any bells?), they added new quests, improved the pacing of the story and a large etc. They compiled everything in an "Enhanced Edition" and guess what. All of that was for FREE. Not only that, if you bought the first edition of the game the upgrade to the enhanced edition was for free too. The Witcher 2 came out in 2011, this time with critical acclaim and big time sales. Game had DRM protection originally but after the game was pirated more than 4.5m times developers dropped it out and sales sky rocketted. From that moment they decided never to use DRM again. Story with the game is similar to the previous one. They released several patches with improvements to gameplay, new quests, new cosmetics and guess what, again for FREE. This is not news for this company, it is their DLC policy and my intention with this post was to grow awareness that paying for DLC is not neccessary, companies don't go broke because of it and certainly we could use more companies like this one which actually cares and RESPECTS their customers. In an interview from 2010:
"We’ve always believed in free DLCs," ... "The thing is that we consider DLCs as a normal post sale service, which shouldn’t be priced. Back when retail games were dominant, we had expansion packs. These were really large chunks of content, which were worth their price." "If today’s DLCs offered the same amount of content, they would be worth paying for, but in most cases players think they are overcharged for what they receive," ... "That’s why we offer expansions to our game for free. This is also a way of saying 'thank you' to the people who decided to buy our game instead of copying it from an unauthorized source."
