This is an honest question and since there are a few ways to play with a handcannon, especially during PVP. I play cautiously and pick people off usually when they least expect it. That means I'm not "in your face" and The Last Word doesn't fit my play style. I'm wondering if there are any suggestions as to another handcannon that might sacrifice a bit of clip size for impact that could have decent perks(vendor bought). Stability isn't too much if an issue but I do love stability perks.
-sigh- ...or they could just fix the Thorn now before Iron Banner is over.
****Please don't tell me The Last Word, I use ADS a lot with Knucklehead Radar.
-
It's messed up how thorn got a nerf when deej implied it was getting a buff
-
Hawkmoon
-
How did the Thorn get nerfed? I'm wrecking kids in the Iron Banner, and I only have one damage upgrade, and not even the DoT? But then again, I obtained the weapon Tuesday..., so how is it worse?
-
Nothing they ruined the only redeemable quality of that gun with the last patch, and they dont care to apologize either, they expect you to believe it was unintentional. This patch ruined the game for me.
-
Nothing can ever replace Thorn. Within 2-3 hours we ought to know its fate.
-
Maybe the Fatebringer?
-
The devil you know. That's a great gun.
-
Red hand ix. 9 round clip, great damage, insane stability
-
The devil you know
-
Vex mythoclast is what I use right now I was really looking forward to using Thorn
-
A better hand cannon
-
The Thorn nerf hurts deep! I've been using Lord High Fixer in place of Thorn since the nerf. I prefer it over Devil You Know.
-
The devil you know is a solid hand cannon, it's what I used before I got thorn. I hear some people have it with explosive ammo, not sure if the vendor sells it with different perks from time to time or if it works out that way when receiving it from a drop, haven't researched it.

The last word
-
Nothing can replace thorn...
-
I'm sure people have already said this but, The Devil You Know Lord High Fixer Fatebringer Not to mention any of these 3 will free up your exotic weapon slot. My personal favorite is Fatebringer, but RNGeesus has to bless you with it, while the other two can be purchased.
-
You hear a lot of love about the devil you know, but IMHO lord high fixer is better. They're both great, but the devil you know has better impact an that's it. When you combine LHF's stability, RoF, range, and reload speed, to TDYK's impact, it makes for quicker more accurate shots, which is what really matters against quick enemies/human opponents. To put it simply TDYK=pve LHF=pvp
-
Lord high fixer
-
Venation III from Dead Orbit. Or Lord High Fixer. Lord High Fixer is very stable and very accurate, and is a good choice for someone who wants to use a HC in that sort of "mid-range" sniper role. I used it in my first few raids, and was counter-sniping Hobgoblins during the Templar fights with it. Its range and accuracy are THAT good. Love that 13 round magazine. Venation III isn't *quite* as accurate as LHF, and only has 8 rounds. But those rounds hit like a sledgehammer. I would pick V III if you're looking to do more close-quarters work with a HC.
-
Hope you can get the one from iron banner. Just got and and leveling it up asap.
-
you could use Lord High Fixer
-
Any legendary hand cannon, besides the FWC one.

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 11/20/2014 4:06:17 AMIf you're looking for an all-out stability build, go with the Red Hand (given you get a lucky RNG roll with Counterbalance) as it has the highest base stability of all HandCs with a decent Impact the only thing that suffers is Range. Even then this thing is a more accurate, harder hitting, Last Word with slightly more range at the cost of automatic shots. Your effective fire-rate due to the stability is insane. However if you're looking for a high-powered option nothing surpasses Timur's Lash, just be sure to nab a model with Field Scout. Two headshots and the guy will die from a snail licking his boot. If your opponent has no specs to Armor/is three levels under you than you can bring him down with just the two headshots. It also has the best range of all HandCs.

TDYK and Timur's lash. Fatebringer isgood but practically the same as TDYK in PvP.
-
Edited by Titan Clause: 11/20/2014 4:53:17 AMTimur's lash (iron banner pistol) is pretty damn good it has a huge amount of impact right off the bat and now you can customize it I have reforged mine to where I get a random bonus damage shot and I get extra ammo in the clip for each person I kill

I have Fatebringer and TDYK and Thorn all maxed, my TDYK happens to have the radar while ADS so that's uber handy. The Fatebringer feels almost identical (sights, ROF, mag size) but has a longer range than TDYK and splodey stuff on crits. Since you need something in a pinch, TDYK is a classy girl and you'll be glad you have it long after IB is over.
