While doing the raid on hard first you roll the hard loot table twice which is why it's possible to get 2 helmets or 2 timepieces.. The helmet and timepiece are not offered on normal Edit: I've also noticed that the normal raid gear I've gotten on the hard raid in most cases had slightly better stats then my original gear but this is most likely a coincidence....
