How do we make the Gunsmith relevant again?
I feel sorry for the Gunsmith. Standing behind that counter all day. Nothing to do. No one to talk to. (Except maybe a lvl 8 character) maybe the occasional Exotic Bounty lead.
A couple of my ideas:
[b] Allow him to upgrade weapon levels[/b]. The Stranger's rifle is cool, but at lvl 16 it lacks punch. What if I could upgrade it to 17, 18, 20? 300 attack on the Khovostov? Think about it!
[b] Allow him to change the elemental effect[/b] Let me take a rocket launcher that I like. Maybe its one that upgrades to the triple clip but it's only a lvl 18 with Arc damage. I could use my glimmer to get it to 20 and then change it to Void.
The fact is I don't even care if it's expensive. Give me (and the Gunsmith) something to do with my marks and glimmer. I'd pay 5000 to level it up. I'd pay the same to change the elemental. And I don't know if glimmer is the best fit for upgrade currency, the developers know best on that one, but let's put this guy to work again.
I hope he's on salary, cause if he's getting paid by the hour, bungie, you need to let him go.

5 RepliesI'd like to be able to buy weapon parts. I'm always running out despite all the crap I pick up and break down. Does anyone else have the problem of finding loot in a ratio of like 5 armors to 1 gun? It drives me nuts to have hundreds and hundreds of useless armor materials in my inventory but still struggling to scrape up enough weapon parts for one upgrade on a legendary gun.

I buy his ammo synthesis all the time. We have tea sometimes. He's in a serious rut in his relationship, and all he wants is more people to come visit him and talk to him. He's tired of feeling alone in the tower and with his wife. It's sad. I usually cheer him up with a few jokes, but in the inside, he is slowly dying.

Khostov? YES could you imagine upgrading it to legendary rarity or something!

Maybe he could sell a legendary or two on the weekends like Xur, but at a lower price, or at a high glimmer price

I like the idea, and I hope it goes somewhere, but inevitably what happens when weapon/armor upgrades get standardized (pay x glimmer for y upgrade) is someone puts together an "ultimate build out" for each character, and you have a million clones running around. I like the idea of a re-roll to randomize new perks, but I wouldn't like a standardization of everything. Keep flushing it out though, and maybe it improves the current system.

Yeah kinda like what diablo 3 ROS has, you can take any weapon and reroll any of the perks you want as many times as you want assuming you have the money and materials needed to do so Even change the way it looks Was a very cool addition to an already amazing game

2 RepliesTurn in weapon parts and ascended energy to him to increase his reputation. He offers different tiers of weapons d weapkn shaders depending on his rank. Rank2, 2, etc. He gives you random stuff in the mail at higher ranks. Stuff like that.
