I always hated pure luck based loot systems. Many MMOs did it and converted to currency systems afterwards. I'm sure Bungie uses the luck system to lenghten our playtime compensating the lack of game content.
Sooner or later they should and will also convert or the game will die.

Agreed. That's why they put materials into weapon and armor upgrades. That's probably why they don't want to fix any of the glitches in the raid too so dumb shit happens and you have to start all over.

They should just cut the crap and admit the lack of content and commit to creating a lot of high quality, non-repetitive and fun content.

It was probably all activison's idea.. I feel bad for bungie. They should have done crowd funding.. They probably would have produced a way better game! Just look at Star Citizen!
