Make Class Gear Useful.

Yeah, okay. I'll back this.

Nah, I love hats! Hats forever!

I sort of agree, but don't like your ideas.

I sort of agree, but I have my own ideas.

I have no opinion at this time.

There's too many purely cosmetic items in Destiny that serve no practical purpose. To be fair, this allows for greater character customization without fear of compromising one's loadout. However, it also makes a large amount of the game's content seem rather pointless. Jumpships: Should definitely have gotten a larger role, but that's something that would probably have to come in a later installment. Not much to be done about them now. Emblems: Are fine; they can stay cosmetic. Shaders: Are fine staying cosmetic, but could use more variety (two-three colors is kind of boring). Or even add a spot on the website where players could create their own custom shaders. If you really wanted to maintain shader's roles as "rewards," you could (as with many things) take a page from ESO's book, and allow players to unlock colors for completing specific tasks. Plus, how cool would it be to see Gay-Pride-style, rainbow-dressed Guardians running around? Class "Armor:" Should do something. Besides change the destination of your reputation-point income. Perhaps give them special effects (e.g. "Faster reload speed with Hand Cannons," "More ammo for Auto Rifles," etc) without adding defense, or add defense without granting perks, or add new, class-specific perks (such as "Increased jump height" on a Hunter's cloak, or "Increased glide speed" for a Warlock's bond). Or do something else I haven't even thought of. As long as they serve some useful purpose. That's all I got. Be warned: until and unless I get a direct mandate from God or DeeJ commanding me to stop, I will "Bump 4 Jesus" this post into oblivion if it doesn't get much traffic Edit: Continuing with the idea of borrowing from other successful franchises, you could also add a way to change the appearance of gear so that it looks like other gear. Diablo III does this, and I liked it. My Crusader looks like an archangel now. Without having to sacrifice practicality for the sake of style.

 • I totally agree about the class specific armor. as it is right now you get legendary drops for it and there is no reason for you to upgrade the piece or even go to the speaker and spend motes to buy one. its just for looks. Make the piece have upgrade slots that can be upgraded with shards depending on the buff desired. Also you can only select one buff per piece, this will encourage people to put thought into which upgrades the apply and lets a person do a dual spec setup. for example, defender titan piece could have buff that decreases cool down of ward of dawn, this could be upgraded with ascendant shards. or it could have a buff that decreases the cool down of disintegrate. Now if they are playing striker they can have other pieces that have buffs for fist of havoc cool down or storm fist and a defensive buff that increases the duration of juggernaut. At least change the dismantling of the legendary pieces to shards instead of just plastisteel. every other legendary slot dismantles into shards these pieces cost just as many marks as other pieces and are doled out by the RNG. would be an easy fix and make a purly cosmetic slot into something that acutally serves a purpose other than faction rep.
