Raid Matchmaking? Yes or No
Should there be matchmaking for the raid? Yes or No? No in between answers or "Yes but ......"
YES = matchmaking, just matchmaking, no filters, options, or kicking. Matchmaking as it is in the strike playlist now.
NO = no matchmaking
IF YOU SAY "YES MATHCMAKING BUT WITH......" YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE NO BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT MATCHMAKING THE WAY IT IS
If matchmaking was made available it would be just like the current strike playlist matchmaking. No filters, options, or kicking.
If it is kept the same then raid and weekly strikes will continue without matchmaking.
Those are your options.

I team up with anybody but I will not spend more than an hour in VoG on Normal. I have not completed hard mode yet but I'm guessing I will not do it longer than 2.5 hours. And I'm against raid matching making! There are just too many afk players and players that try to mooch off other players

Why not? It's not like people would be forced to use it instead of forming their own fireteams.

There should be 2 options. Matchmaking or closed/invite only. Actually, people who what to avoid randoms can just form fire teams as they do now and go from there.

2 RepliesI voted yes and I'm a casual gamer and probably don't for the target audience for this game. But, I feel like there is a section of this game I will never get to enjoy. I don't actually have any friends who even have destiny. I'm referring to people I know outside of PSN. As a result there's no way for me to get end game gear... There aren't good social features within the game to set up a group either... I also don't really have time I can always play either... My wife and son get first priority! So, I don't have time to try and setup a group online unless it's going to be pretty quick... If they didn't do matchmaking they should setup something for people looking for a group. Like a gathering point you can go to while on patrol to find people looking to do the vault. Or, a pub or tavern in the tower where people can go to join a chat room to find groups. My PSN is Shadowwisp. I almost always play early Friday and Saturday mornings from like 6 to 8 AM EST. Other than that it varies. I usually get to play more than that, but I know with some certainty I can play at those times. I also have a 2 month old and may have to get up to care for him at times. Which doesn't help the team...

Since they are finally adding the option(at some point??) to use the mic and talk to people in matchmaking..... Yes is my answer

Would rather have custom and private matches in pvp, and the ability to join into custom matches.

I vote yes! Just don't understand how anyone can vote no? Why concern yourself with others play? So what if no matchmaking group ever made it through the Raid? Inevitably experience would be gained, friends would be made, and ultimately Clans formed that would complete the Raid. Makes absolutely no sense to not have it!

I always say it, add matchmaking and enjoy : - level 23 guardians in your team - people who doesn't know what to do and let's not get into the relic carrier ;) - inactive people whose strategy is to not to do anything and just claim rewards It's funny how people say "it wouldn't be like this" well matchmaking will work the same as it works right now, or what? Do you want it to be easier? OK maybe bungie should upload a patch for everyone to have all raid gear without completing it, easy enough? You don't have a team, that's so terrible, I wonder how hard it is to find a team here, of course I wouldn't use matchmaking, it's not my concern, optional or not, I can imagine all the scrubs the next day crying because people suck at raid, that will be like xurday :)

An easy way to implement this is just to have an option for everyone to que for whatever they want. When someone wants to start a group they simply pull up the que and pick the players who are ready to go, perhaps send them a message with any questions before they invite them. Basically it just lists all of the people looking for the same thing you are, it doesn't necessarily have to pair you with them.

If they do matchmaking, it should be by checkpoints. just because one person hasn't gotten past the first part doesn't mean i should go back to the beginning nor should i have to skip a part. And their should be no in game joining

12 RepliesI think there SHOULD be matchmaking. BUT.... there should also be an option to stop random people joining your fireteam. everyone gets the best of both options then.... and people like myself could at least do the damn raid!

I don't care. Just as long as they let you do it with however many ppl you want. When you go to a strike, they add another player, which I don't like.

I think yes to allowing people to try it without having to use resources outside of the game itself. but no if you are going to have it unrestricted and i get stuck with myself and 5 level 25 s that have never done the raid before and have no microphone so i cant even tell them the normally stratergy. I need something more than the basic system, even if it was just in a preferences menu saying "raid preferences" (has mic: on/off, similar level: on/off,) they can code that without any major overhaul or extra work, just another sub menu in the menu settings. nothing fancy.

2 RepliesNo. Bungie should focus on more important things. It's not hard to find a Raid team, you just make a forum post and in 10 min you're good to go. Plus, I would hate playing with noobs with no mic that I can't kick.

3 RepliesGetting a group together isn't difficult. If you use this forum you can have a group in 10 minutes . Not sure why people don't take advantage of it . I've posted stating I will take all new raiders and even saw someone else post the exact same thing this morning . Yeah it makes it easier, but it's a small part of the game that's different

It has to be easy enough for most players to finish it, but hard enough to make people feel really good about doing so. If there is no challenge, the game quickly becomes boring and people find somewhere else to throw their money (not a good model for selling DLC). I am sure that bungie kept this in mind when developing the vault of glass, to ensure the average player would enjoy the game the most. Lower the bar so that 5-10% more people will get to experience the raid and likely make it a worse experience for the rest? Or run it in a tried and tested way, that excludes the minimal amount of people that aren't really that interested in doing it anyway. People and hand holding these days. Not having matchmaking removes issues with people being afk, unable to communicate, being too bad or just trying to sabotage every try. This is a true blessing. Last time i checked, you cant kick people when groups are formed by matchmaking. This might be a mistake on my part, but i have looked for a way to do so as there is always one guy afk in every strike i enter. From another point of view, i am sure that every player who has felt uncomfortable joining a big team with unknown voices for the first time, will feel like shit if they bump into a group with a snotty elitist brat who starts flaming them and giving them a hard time for not being good enough or not knowing tactics. This is the oldest problem in online gaming. And with the success of the PS4, it is no longer limited to xbox live. It's everywhere. Asking people in the tower if they can raid, will get you a group in 5-10 minutes as it is now. If people really wanted to go, they'd be there now. I get why crying on the internet is a lot easier. This is a horrible idea for everyone - Good or bad players alike :)

I dont care one way or the other, but... With the ammount of frustration people have with the strike match making... could you imagine that x10 with the raid. It isnt the fact it is hard, but is the fact that a majority of people just do not grasp the concept of tactics... while coupling that with random people you have just met, or that have no idea what they are doing.

We won't see this until voice chat is up for the current matchmaking modes. Hopefully we'll get it shortly thereafter. It's pretty clear that the majority of the community wants universal matchmaking. Even if they only allowed it for normal mode, it would give people a chance to learn the vault so that they can gear up and practice for hard mode.

2 RepliesI don't see why not. If you don't want randoms don't use match making and play with your normal group. Also why not have filtered where your group can put in a request for a lvl 28+ defender Titan or hunter or whatever
