Should there be matchmaking for the raid? Yes or No? No in between answers or "Yes but ......"
YES = matchmaking, just matchmaking, no filters, options, or kicking. Matchmaking as it is in the strike playlist now.
NO = no matchmaking
IF YOU SAY "YES MATHCMAKING BUT WITH......" YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE NO BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT MATCHMAKING THE WAY IT IS
If matchmaking was made available it would be just like the current strike playlist matchmaking. No filters, options, or kicking.
If it is kept the same then raid and weekly strikes will continue without matchmaking.
Those are your options.

Guardians Make Their Own Fate

Edited by DramasEnd: 12/7/2014 4:42:34 PMPer the limited choices of the Poll, I voted NO*. Good thing we can still talk about all the ideas we want and argue WHY something like this would either be a good idea or not and how we could make something like this work or not & actually be constructive & progressive here on the forums. If this were a think tank I would say something like I wrote below. Matchmaking for Raids!?!?! Well of course, Yes!!! But ONLY Matchmaking that can be toggled ON/OFF with ADVANCED FILTER OPTIONS, + option for everyone in raid party to "agree" to start raid with current Fire Team. Random PUGS with no mics & unmastered weaponry for a Raid Fire Team would be frustrating enough just having one Guardian to carry or have no communication with. With current matchmaking, Random PUGS could generate a Fire Team that everyone would agreeably ditch upon assembly. Imagine half your fire team has no mics or is out of your desired level range for the encounter. You would be randomly generating Raid Fire Teams till you got a winner? That would suck. And then we'd be having a discussion about how this feature needs to be fixed specifically for Matchmaking Raid Fire Teams.
-
I voted yes. I would never use it. If people want to waste their time with people who don't communicate and don't know what to do, let them.
-
all activity that can not be done solo in game should have matchmaking with bonus for completion to stop drop outs, add more check points in case of team drop outs or disconnects on longer missions, raids, strikes
-
I say yes but should have the vote option to kick a player
-
I said yes, just because why not. As long as they make voice mandatory.
-
I said no. Their current implementation of matchmaking doesn't suit the raid. They just need really good in game ways to match up with each other and show your intent of what you want to do with others.
-
There's no reason not too, bungie say you need communication and cooperation well if you want a good groups get some friends together or use the forums but for people with less friends at least they would be able to experience the raid, I am a level 30 titan and love the raid, it is only fair that everyone should be able to attempt the raid whether they have a giant friends list or not
-
I vote yes but feel need option to vote kick if they not got enough good weapons
-
What happens when someone quits or you join a game that isn't starting from the beginning I think those two problems can't be fixed with matchmaking and would cause problems
-
Matchmaking is not the right solution for the raid. We need a robust LFG system in game where you can find people that suits your raids need.
-
Edited by Beasel: 12/7/2014 3:15:17 PMI said no bc there should be an option to vote out a specific player before the match starts. Too many times I've joined a random raid to help a friend only to have an under leveled player with crap weapons trying to do the raid before he is ready using the excuse like " this is my alt character" or " I've seen a lot of videos "
-
I agreed yes, but I would like to option to veto kick players (strikes also) just because lower level players might join and can't contribute as much / people just don't do anything in strikes and get rewarded for just standing there.
-
To many things can go wrong for matching making to work. One person can ruin a whole raid run. It's easy to find a clan to raid with or even a raid group on the day. I personally don't think match making is needed.
-
No, you would just find a bunch of level 25's begging for help with the raid. Stop being anti-social and find a group on lfg. Its not that hard.
-
Edited by Roughneck: 12/7/2014 8:05:47 AMMatchmaking as done in the strikes won't work. Aside from AFKers and the inevitable worthless lump that will plague every random group, you also need to contend with one major question: who gets designated as the fireteam lead? This is an important question because someone will inevitably be required to make the decision to boot the aforementioned AFKers and worthless lumps. However, how does that decision get made with an automated match making system? Even if it becomes something that is arbitrarily decided by the matchmaking system itself, what happens when you end up in groups where AFKers keep ending up as the fireteam lead? You'll end up spending 99% of your time queuing, loading, dying, rage quitting, reloading back to orbit, and trying to match up again. After about 5 times of going through this you'll realize the futility of matchmaking and end up in the forums either crying that matchmaking is broken or begging Bungie to nerf the raid to account for completely incompetent and/or absent matchmaking players. What is really needed is a LFG system incorporated into the Bungie and PSN apps which allows filtering AND automates the group invite process once a player selects 5 teammates he wishes to group with.
-
Bungie did an interview with Destiny LFG, to me that pretty much says no raid match making and honestly that is pretty much raid match making, takes like 5 minutes to find a group/form a group.
-
Why have matchmaking? All the twats in this community leave strikes. Let alone raids.....
-
Absolutely not. Way too many trolls that would just try to -blam!- it up for people. Need to have a team you trust.
-
It would just be a cycle of randoms leaving, being traded for more randoms. I don't see the fun in that when you could guarantee a full team of friends who have arranged a time to play so that no one leaves. People wouldn't have mics, people would be low levels, people would be first-timers. With matchmaking there is no way of telling who your team will be. If Bungie introduced this, it would shortly be taken down because of complaints from the other end of the spectrum. Bungie can't provide all things to all people, so I'm just trying to convince you why this is a bad idea. However, if there were checkboxes which allowed you to determine who you were getting in your team, it would be slightly different. However, that means 25's would only look for 30's to be carried, and searches would take forever to find an ideal team. As of now, I am perfectly happy using Destiny LFG to handpick my team; I suggest you do the same.
-
Destiny LFG takes 5 minutes... That's all...
-
Edited by JobuuRumdrinker: 11/11/2014 7:29:10 PMyes however, if you say no - here's my other option put 3 signs in the tower - stand here for VOG - stand here if you want to heroic weekly - stand here for nightfall solved
-
Matchmaking will ruin the raid. People constantly quitting and leaving. Its better the way it is now.
-
Ahh this is really just a bullshit post. Saying yes but with options is a perfectly fine answer. You can't tell me how matchmaking would be as there isn't any.
-
Edited by Some Black Guy: 11/10/2014 10:10:22 PMAnyone that says no is lame lol just let the tens of thousands of players who don't know about this website/forums to have matchmaking so they can at least TRY THE DAMN RAID. Who cares if the mechanics are hard? You won't be matchmaking. You will be using the forums/websites to group up on. Let the people who want to matchmake, matchmake lol it literally will not affect you in anyway, whatsoever. To even say no is idiotic. If there are problems with the matchmaking, Bungie will think of a countermeasure to make sure its perfect for those that NEED it to RAID. Jesus Christ, if you had 0 knowledge of Bungie.net or Destinylfg.com/net, and you had no friends, you would want matchmaking as well. PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO GO AROUND FROM TOWER TO TOWER, SPAMMING EVERYONE FOR RAID INVITES. I have no problem with giving them their matchmaking so they can at least try the damn raid. Like I said, matchmaking is full of flaws, so let Bungie figure that out. Matchmaking will come and you will cry over it.
-
Biased. You need to do the raid before having a vote. Thats like voting for a politician without knowing what he stands for.
