Edited by ChaosTheoryCraft: 11/3/2014 7:07:02 PMI'm 43 (44 next week) and a Sr. Administrator at a nationwide telecommunications company. 6 figure salary. Wife, kid and a epic man-cave. I have been playing video games since space invaders and the Atari 2600. It's awesome to grow up, but for the love of all that is holy.... Don't grow old! :)

Sadly if she has that type of attitude nothing will change her opinion. She should be kicked to the curb for someone more close minded to control her.

Youtube my friend, Youtube...

I have a family member who works in navy and plays video games a lot. You'll be fine as long as you don't like stay up all night and then have to go to work.
-
I have a good job. I have wasted a lot of time playing this game.

IT + real estate, 6 figures (if that's how define a good job) It stands to reason that some without a good job would have less disposable income to "waste" on a video game. Nonetheless
I decide how to spend my money.
what qualifies as a "good" job? I'm a techie at a law firm, I'm a gamer going back 30 or so years now.

IT tech, 2 kids/house/all primaries needs fulfilled My hobby is mine, and mine alone to enjoy. My other half loves knitting and crochet and painting and watching the same movies thrice in a row, I would not dare to tell her that what she's doing is NOT the correct way to enjoy her free time. I have to admit it's a reflex to blame video games as a wrong hobby though, and it's normally done by peoples who watch tv all evening every day sadly.

Edited by Death Essence: 11/3/2014 6:56:14 PM36. 15 year project manager with a global company. Been an XBOX Live member for 8 of those. Six fig salary, seven fig 401k, wife, two mistresses, two kids, 1 XBOX controller, four rechargeable batteries, seat in the middle section every Sunday at church, etc. Most hobbies may not be productive, but they paradoxically aren't a waste of time either.

You might be missing the point. She may be trying to tell you that she thinks you spend too much time playing games. That's for you to decide, but just know that she can decide if she wants to be with someone who plays that much.
