Dont forget storytelling, my first toon was an awoken warlock, no effect whatsoever when I met the Queen and Crow... not even a little nod to that fact... boy was I disapointed by that.

  • I believe that I read somewhere that the original game (pre-release changes) actually had three different beginnings and fleshed out the races much more than the single perspective that made it to release. If I understood correctly the sequence we see was for the Exo. I am with you in hoping that race specific differences in the game; effects, reactions from venders and NPCs, cut scenes might have a slightly different angle dependent on the race that you are, but I am not holding out much hope for that. As it is the races have no real meaning in the game, no effect and no consequence - hence this proposal. I would really love to see (instead of the stuff that we are being given) in one of DeeJ's weekly posts a look behind the scenes, or a glimpse at what the developers are "considering" or even "currently trying to develop", even if they have to come back later and say that they tried, and with the current game they cannot do it, but will see if it can be incorporated into the next version. Then at lease we would have an idea of what they are putting their effort into, or discussing as possible content/change/expansion.Yeah, some people would try to hold them to something they mentioned they were thinking about, but you'd get that regardless and now players just speculate, assuming that they are doing things which they more than likely are not.

But thats just it, the story is so lackluster right now and people are so p-blam!-off that they are holding Bungie accountable based on CONJECTURES, like the Exo beggining that you just mentioned as an example, there's this video "don't buy destiny DLC part1 AND 2" based on speculation but with fair points to the viewer on the subject. My point is, the game right now is NOT giving us content, substance, story, or something to make us relate to. Its an alien murder machine... And what's worst, it came from BUNGIE the guys who gave us top notch stories from the times of Myth to Halo... urgh! Its maddening. What I would love to see as a way of salvaging this whole thing is: -Story related content on DLCs for free. (Just story, no new itens, no new pvp, JUST STORY for free) -Character development. (Who was I, Why no one acknowledge the fact that I'm an Exo/Human/Awoken, What is in fact the Ghost, How can it bring me back from the dead, What is to be forged in the light, who's the Stranger Exo girl, and to top it all off => Speaker: SPEAK TO ME!!! Destiny have enough NPCs without nothing behind them as is... We don't need another empty shell of a character...) -Lore (IN THE GAME, no -"go to bungie.net to read the content") -Cutscenes (For crying out loud there's like 8 of them now... and they DONT. EXPLAIN. NOTHING.) -EDIT- Can't quite recall where I read it but the upcoming story will be told in a similar way to the Exotic Bounties... There was something about Destiny's dev team trying to find the right way to tell a story yada yada yada... My only thoughts were... well cinematics have being a very reliable way to do that since the dawn of storytelling on videogames, I would go with that, but what do I know right... =/
