Suros is a good gun, but you've got to point it at a head from a distance, hit the head six times, and avoid getting killed in the process. A shotgun is just hiding and hitting a target chowose enough to take up a forth of your screen. In terms of "good and bad", you have to be much better to effectively kill someone with the suros than with a shotgun. Though the gun is op when used to it's potential, it's more difficult to do so than it is to master a 12 gauge. A shotgun is just training wheels plain and simple. Training wheels are s great way to ride a bike. You won't fail. But you won't make it to the x games.

You are forgetting the variable if distance. Closing that gap between you and your target for your shotty to be effective is more difficult than you portray it to be, generally requiring the player to manipulate the structure of the environment to safely get to the target while avoiding fire from them or other players. This isn't Halo 3 where you can just shotgun snipe everyone from across the map.

I'm not saying you can not be a good player using a shotgun. I'm saying you can camp very effectively with a shotgun and do well even as a bad player. Obviously a skilled player can take shit to the next level.
