I know this is bait but I don't really care.
I would cheese Atheon if I could. You're right, its considerably more efficient.
The difference between me and the majority of the chumps that play this game is that now that cheese isn't an option, I have the skills to kill him legit, too.
Watching these forum soldiers talk about how great they are for three weeks and then watching them run around like headless chickens post-patch was a wonderfully predictable and joyous happening.
All these trolls talking about quitting because they might get teleported and *gasp* maybe have to use the relic? -blam!-ing priceless.
This patch separated the men from the boys in the VoG. I love it.
So keep cheesing, boys. Don't learn how to function as a cohesive team and fall to the wayside while the *real* guardians pick up your corpses and clean up the mess.

This community has a very broad definition of satire and a shocking tendency to confuse it with exaggeration. Regardless, this was a public service announcement and not a retort to his silly little story. Hence my first sentence.

I never learned the raid the right way because cheesing Atheon was popular method when I started doing raids. But I like the push off method more because it's funny to see the most powerful boss in the game die to fall damage. I've been in a group that tried to do legit too but it only takes one idiot in the group to fail the whole fight. Atheon was almost dead and the idiot decided to commit suicide, if he didn't do that Id have at least one legit completion under my belt.

you also get the same exact reward for cheesing Atheon versus doing it legit, hence the fix to Atheon fight.

You missed the part where I almost killed Atheon but because there was a dumbass in the group it ultimately failed. Atheon fight is so hard that it takes an idiot to screw up that fight and that was without the random teleport.

I've downed him with 3 left. It's not impossible by any means. Warlock commits suicide before you get sent, self rez ( just to be safe. Wouldn't want it to glitch and send all 3 remaining) he opens portal, smash through it, revive him. Continue punishing Atheon.

Well I solely put blame on the suicider because if he didn't suicide he would've been there to do the job. We were pretty inexperienced too for the raid at that time. But there are only so many wipes one can bare before quitting lol

I understand that perfectly. We had 35 wipes trying to explain to randoms that oracles are bad.

But with that close to beating Atheon death because of that guy suiciding, really just made us like -blam!- it, we are done. But honestly we did try a few times after that but our spirits were pretty low after that close win wipe. I ended up quitting because everyone started leaving, group fell apart
