Mostly agree, but DON'T make it dependant on raids - I still haven't got to grips with any raids, can never get friends on together to attempt them, or some aren't ranked up enough, or other whatevers.
Basically it's not possible for me to play raid, so it is annoying that you get the good gear (shards n such) from them. It'd be worse if weapons etc were in raid, that would practically lock those out for me!
We do need some better way of obtaining better gear. As it is I'm level 27 and can't get any further. It's getting a bit stale, now.

I was 29 with Exotic helmet and 3 legendary pieces before I ever set foot in the raid.

They never should've tied the light level to ONLY raids it was a mistake to reward so much to so few. Not only is it bad enough raid drops are random and mostly shards and energy thanks to Bungie making ascendants legendary instead of actually giving out proper rewards but they randomness of it all is unacceptable when you figure in the bugs and glitches and sh!t we have to overcome not just the enemies within the raid but the BS bugs and shoddy work Bungie did on it. They didn't give out enough legendaries to begin with so making ascendants legendary was a poor excuse to give us stuff and calling it legendary doesn't make it so.

As a hunter u can reach lvl 29 with raspberry chest

You can get to to lvl 28 with normal legendary gear and on exotic fully upgraded. So all you have to do is play the daily heroic on hard and a public event everyday to get the ascendant mats to upgrade your gear.

i started playing Destiny after the loot cave patch and leveled through to 24 on my own. Than I was asked into a clan which at the time had 4 members, and that was including the leader of the clan. now we have 22 members and we hand pick who we want into the clan. I am an admin and we get together and talk about every single member that comes in, to see if they can stay calm, not interrupt all the time, play on good teamwork, and doesn't always want to ride someones coat tail to level up. We look for members who are willing to help others whether they are in clan or not. we are heavy on respect for others but still know how to have alot of fun in Destiny. we have an age limit (I know that is weird for some but it is a requirement to be atleast 17) i help clan members everyday and i also help non clan members everyday but the clan comes first and all it takes most of the time is a simple "hey wanna come help this guy/girl with raid/nightfall/daily/etc" and I almost always get a yes. if you want to come play with us online send me a message, I am more than happy to help you get your gear every week to the best of my abilities.

google search 'bungielfg' thats a good site to find randoms i've done the raid a few times with my alts using it.

You realize no one has friends that are dedicated to the Raid, we all use Bungie forums to find players

Erm...I do. All the guys I raid regularly with are on my psn friends list. And I know most of them personally.

My advice to you would be to join a group that has a lot of members. I was in the same position as you a couple of weeks ago, but after i joined the IGN group, i found 5 other people to raid with within 5 minutes. I also recommend looking up how to do the raid beforehand as a lot of people prefer that you know a little bit about the raid.

But 30 gets you hard mode gear easier and you find teams easier. Just ran hard with all 29's (some new some vet). It was horrible. You need at least 2 level 30's to run VoG with minimal grief.

I don't understand why you are s disagreeing with me... The Raid is level 28, you can get to level 29 without Raid gear... I don't understand why this conversation is happening

The helmet only drops on level 30. I need that or the gauntlets to get there logical conclusion beat it on hard and I can get either or both.
