Its not an MMO. Seriously, why would people expect more? Its like you want to play a game you paid 60 dollars for and get extended content for every event and holiday. Thats NOT A SUSTAINABLE MODEL. This game may be buy to play but it lacks a cash shop and other things to fund persistent content. They fragged up the story. We dont need resources being allocated to shitty events and screwing up any decent story the game may have planned just because you wanted more shitty holiday events

 • Sure... I'll buy the argument that they would rather work on the story... except we have no evidence for that. There was no story. Fanboys said oh, it's a ten year experience, they'll flesh it out. And yet, ALL new content is tied to the DLC which seems to be a completely new story rather than an extension of that the great big lack that we received. If we paid $60 for a big mess of a missing story, why would we shell out $20 for more of the same?

 • It's not like Halloween is some small time holiday. I don't really care if Bungie supplies anything for Leif Ericson day, although it would be entertaining.

 • Well all of you have this much time to make an essay about how bad the game is. Why? So you can try to make bunjie change the game for 10000 or so people. Do you even know how many people own the game and love it. YA I THOUGHT SO

 •
Its not an MMO.
Yet it borrows so many gameplay elements from a traditional MMO experience the playerbase by and large can't tell the difference But bright sparks like you say "but Bungie says it's a Shared world Shooter, so CLEARLY it's not a MMO" that's the matter settled. 0.o You are right in a sense. Whilst the vast core of Destiny's gameplay structure is straight out of the MMO genre handbook on design, nearly every MMO on the market today makes this effort look ridiculously bad. The presentation on Destiny is fantastic and hides the fact that under the pretty backdrop, there's no story, a shocking loot system and no content. That's why I called Destiny a 'beautiful vacuum' because that's what it is
Seriously, why would people expect more?
Oh I dunno... maybe because like many of us on the lead up to launch we were told there would be? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1OjUWw43co
Thats NOT A SUSTAINABLE MODEL. This game may be buy to play but it lacks a cash shop and other things to fund persistent content.
And day one DLC season passes are....
We dont need resources being allocated to shitty events and screwing up any decent story the game may have planned just because you wanted more shitty holiday events
Can I ask what actually makes you think there IS a story here to be had? You going to wait until DLC 3 or 4 and still say 'the story is coming, just wait!' before you realise that this game simply doesn't have one. How is it that people like yourself clearly in denial can't accept the fact that this game has already launched. They put their best foot forward day one on the delivery of this game and broke their ankle, for all the world to see. Instead of taking Bungie to task over it, you live in this fantasy that 'Bungie's REAL story is coming in the next DLC, you just wait!' Dude, that's a leaf directly out of corporate Acitvision's playbook - and you bought it hook, line and sinker. You cannot judge the merits of Destiny based on assumed hopes of what may yet to come. Just as you can't lambast people for taking issue with what is here and now. It's not being realistic or rational. You need to take off the bias blinkers and just look at what's on the table here and now and make a judgement call on that. ALL the fanboys chirping here need to do the same thing. Trust me, I want to give Bungie my full support as well. I bought the damn game, I bought the DLC pass even though I'm an Xbox gamer and got reamed for my decision to be loyal. But at some point you just have to step back and ask just what the hell they are doing here, without any sense of bias or loyalty clouding your judgement. Do that and there's no debating the issue here. Destiny is in some seriously deep shit right now. Yeah, you can say 'wait for the next DLC' until the cows come home but brother, more and more people are taking the once bitten, twice shy approach with this game and are already bailing from it. Lilttle 'silly' content fillers like seasonal events sound like they're a waste of time, but they really are not. Like any MMO style, open world social gaming experience you need a reason to log in each day and enjoy the game world with friends. These big studios don't have the time or resources to give you a new DLC every other week so they NEED little fillers like this to keep the gamers occupied whilst they generate real content. WoW knew this a decade ago and nearly every MMO on the market today has made this very obvious realisation and adhered to the same model. For a reason. Destiny has a bigger problem than many of those launch MMOs in that is straight up has no lasting content to begin with so YES, 'stupid shit' like seasonal events are actually a bigger deal than many of you might realise or appreciate.

 • I have no time to read your exacerbated and long winded replies. So I will just say this. This games only following of MMO development is the raids. 16 man instance areas are not MMO genre. It has more missing from the MMO genre than it has included. Want to compare things? Compare this games amenities to a launched MMO and then compare it. Does the game suck at story telling? Absolutely. Worst piece of illiterate shite ive seen to date. But quit comparing it to real MMO's its absolutely insulting.

 •
I have no time to read your exacerbated and long winded replies. So I will just say
... We have no time to read the rest of your comment either. Why would you bother to respond to something that you haven't read? What kind of response do you think you can possibly give to... Well anything? How do you RESPOND to something when you don't know what you're responding to? Good grief, I mourn for humanity.

 • What about all the free arena battle games? League, and Dota. Free to play. Holiday content. Patches that include extra content for the gamers. They treat their audience right and the audience pays them back.

 • Um those games have cash shops that bring a steady amount of money to the consistently over time. I am not saying this game has not made a ton of money but there are a ton more important things to bring that shouldnt focus on bringing a huge halloween event to the game. Hell ffxiv just released its halloween content and its a few missions to grind tokens for glamour items so we can run around as pumpkin heads in raids and thats a sub based game. None if it is actually capable of providing any game progression. Considering this game has 0 transmog system, whats the point?

 • Right? I mean, if you're gonna debate the guy, read what he's got to say at least. That dude just stuck his fingers in his ears. But, even though he doesn't have time to listen, he's got time to speak? Must be pretty busy, spending his time arguing about games on the internet. Makes about as much sense as not having time to explain why you don't have time to explain, but having time to prattle pointlessly for minutes.
