POLL: SHOULD BUNGIE IMPLIMENT A TRADE SYSTEM?

Yes

8042

No

10172

if you are for or against state why. bungie has formally stated they will never and have no intentions of implimenting one, but maybe if enough of the forum pop agrees or disagrees they could in a perfect world listen. I believe there should be. not for the players or to fix the shitty loot system, but for bungie to keep it's gamers. From a PR standpoint your loot system is flawed, and you have no intent on changing it, so let the players fix it by letting them trade. the game is at a point where there is little to no real world value on raid gear or loot if you are saying there's no trade for RWT prevention.

  • A trading system would destroy the game. Research the effects of something like that instead of making your choice based off of opinion or your sheer lack of a certain item(s).

  • Trust me when I say that trade GUARANTEES real world money being used to buy in game content. This has been proven time and time again, and I have intimate knowledge of a few games black markets as that was a real point of interest for me for quite a while. You would really be surprised how much people can value certain pixels, and I have no problem with it, spend your money on whatever you want, but the demand will always be there for shortcuts and pixel content

  • They should make exotics quest based. Like 20 step long for some guns. I have every gun in the game minus super good advice, and have only been playing for 3 months. I have 19 ghorns in the hopes of one day I can give my friends that have been grinding since day 1 the gun they want so badly. If it was quest based something that took like 20 steps and was broken up like the refresh each week people would grind like crazy, and it would add a lot of sense of accomplishment to it all. Trading could work if you could only do 1 gun a week for your account, and only to people of equal level, and a certain grimoir score. People would get stuff they want, and still have to play a ton to get the score.

Free trading with no limitations? No way in hell. Would absolutely ruin the game and burn it to its foundations. Would lead to a ridiculous amount of exploitation and only cause more problems with an already broken loot system. Diablo 3 style trading? Hell yes. Make the items only trade-able to those who were in your fireteam when you got the item and then set a time limit to that. Would make friendly fireteams more important. Would lead to a tighter community that treats each other with more respect because there is a chance you may one day get something from them. Would ensure that most people wouldn't be assholes in raids, because they might want to trade later.

    • So most of you are okay with them making year one weapons obsolete to make us gribd for more because of the challenge, blah, blah... If there is taking, that invalidates the grinding required in the first part of the argument. A trades to B each for something the other doesn't have to eliminate the grind. Which is it? You can't have it both ways. Bungle is clearly saying, they want you to grind so you keep playing. Trading eliminates part of what they are trying to achieve.

    • I'd like to see a system like in Forza If you are in a car club (clan-ish) you can share a copy of a car into the club garage, anyone in the club can use it for in game activities but not delete/modify it In Destiny it would translate into putting a weapon in clan vault that other clan members can use

            • I'm kind of divided on this. No because I don't want all the noobs to get instant access to weapons vets had to work for. What about Trials (Adept) weapons which were so hard to get, and then noobs were able to get them for free? Yes because I've heard some vets who haven't gotten a gally or something with 1500h play.

            • I like the idea of a trade system, but it should implement fair trades. I would not be for a trade system for this game if it allowed players to trade gjally to a noob for glimmer or crap guns. It should be a 1 for 1 exotic trade OR each player has to pay a hefty fee for using the trade system. I like the fee idea because then you wouldn't have a ton of unfair trades because you have to make each trade worth your money.

              • I think gear trading will be hit-or-miss, but worth a shot. It would have to have a tier cap, up and down, to prevent people from trading in a white gun for the Gjallahorn, or whatever is the next most sought after Exotic, and should include trading glimmer, (and perhaps even Vanguard and Crucible marks) sort of like a human vendor.

Bungie is already working overtime to fixes on weapon balances to dropping the ban hammer. Would you rather have them implement trading and making sacrifices to those areas that are way more important I hope not. There are issues already so many people cheat out other people and money issues already swarming Destiny like players running people through trials for 100$ And they are already implementing a rng system to stop giving out so many repeats which is a better option

              • No because Imagine, noobs trading khvostov for gjallarhorn. Ppl are that dumb that they would accept that trade aswrll as the fact its cutting corners bungue wants you to grind untill your electricity bill is thru the roof

              • Only if its executed correctly. How I feel it would be (this is barebones, mind you, I'll be highlighting weapons); Weapons are sorted into tiers, you can only trade inside that particular tier and certain weapons cannot be traded or are reset after the transaction. Mind you, this is barebones. I'd love to hear feedback and maybe additions. Tiers are introduced into the system. Bungie may classify weapons into tiers how they like but a few things must remain constant; 1) There must be a trade, no gifting. 2) Weapons that are traded, must be of the same tier. 3) Exotics cannot be traded unless they aren't maxed. If you start it, you keep it. 4) Gjallerhorn cannot be traded under any circumstances. 5) Depending on the weapon, its stats are reduced or reset upon trading. 5a) If one weapon is reset or reduced, the other weapon in the trade transaction will be reset or reduced upon trading to keep the exchange mutual. There are many, many, many other scenarios and stipulations that can be applied to make this system as fair and neutral as possible. Also, to prevent lower levels from trading their way to Endgame gear. Here's an example to give an idea of what it would be like; Player One;Hey, I got Uppercut Payload from IB this weekend, trade you Timur's Lash for it. Player Two; I think those are in two different tiers, my friend. Player One; Oh yeah, you're right. Well, do you have anything of the same tier? I'd hate for this to go to waste. Player Two; have a stock Matador I've yet to break down. Interested? They're in the same tier. Player One;Eh, sure. I could use another shotgun. What's the element? Player Two; Void. Player One; Deal.
