PS Exclusivity Will Likely Cut Players
Now I could be very wrong and I know that deals like this are commonplace in businesses, but I can't imagine that Xbox gamers are going to accept being a year behind every time something new releases for the game. While there isn't anything we can do directly in order to get what we want other than switching consoles, I think we're overpaying for what we're receiving. If we only get 80% of all released content why are we paying just as much money as the PS gamers? I thought it was fine to know that PS was getting a few extra exotics. maps, and strikes before launch. What I didn't know though, was that they would be getting more out of the upcoming DLCs that most people have already paid for in advance. In this scenario it isn't even almost alright for us to pay 40$ for 80% of the content while forcing us to wait 1 year yet again just to get what the PS gamers already have. They paid and they received their money's worth. We pay, and we only get a portion of it with the rest coming so long after that we'll likely end up having enough money to purchase a PS and Destiny for the thing. I know already my brother is quitting Destiny for a long while. Probably until we've at least gotten half of what the other users are getting. This kind of business practice just doesn't make sense to me. Will Bungie really make more money by catering their multiplatform game to one console?

1 ReplyI'm on PS4 but OP has a vaild point. Seriously..... Why do Xbox Players have to wait a year for level 20 content ? By the time a year is up level cap will be at almost 35 or 40 We already going to level 32 with the new expansion : anybody going to be using the Monte Carlo then ? doubt it. Stupid move by stupid Greedy companies . I hear you OP and vote with your wallet. Dont buy the shit and instead go buy another game to enjoy.

2 RepliesBy the time all DLC has been released for this game it will be beyond dead on all 4 platforms . Day one content was lacking and the DLC doesn't look to be adding much at all .

There have been games that get exclusive stuff from Xbox before and PS people bitched about it too! This stuff happens so what just play the game and enjoy it! Or don't.

All I care about is my wallet. So what if they get exclusives? Granted Sony was like "F'k you MS, we are getting this for a full year, not a month like your COD deal." But, why does it matter? I can happily wait, as we on Xbox will still be playing when we do get it, having something new to do. My only problem is going to be, again, my wallet. Total DLC (correct me if I am wrong) will add up to ~$60-80 for all. However if MS gets the exclusives, it adds another pack that only we have to buy, adding an extra $20ish. THAT is what is potentially unfair. I can wait the year, but if I have to pay for what was initially free, that is just bs.

Why is this a big deal. Everyone knew PlayStation was getting exclusive content. That is why I bought it on the PS4 and not XB1 Its like going to a vegetarian restaurant and getting all mad they don't sell meat. I mean come on people

12 RepliesYou know, I look at these posts and kind of laugh. The Playstation crowd is really not getting anything special. I fired up Destiny and played through the "lolExclusive" Strike on my PS4. You know what? The Strike sucks more balls than Andy Dick. Really, it's a horrible, horrible abortion of a Strike. You think it's repetitive in the game's core story to constantly have Peter Dinklebot constantly hacking something and you have to protect him? It's that repetition times three. If that's the quality of the exclusives that Sony paid for, then I'm even more happy to not get any of it for a year on my Xbox One. I have much more fun with Density on LIVE and it's stability, and 98% of my friends list stayed with Xbox for this newest Gen anyway. But seriously, Playstation is getting nothing special at all if this first "lolExclusive" Strike is any measure of the effort Bungle is putting into Sony's exclusive content. So don't worry, OP. And tell your friends not to worry. Playstation gamers are getting -blam!-ed harder by shitty content than Xbox gamers are by having to wait for shitty content.

1 ReplyI wish Xboxers would just refrain from buying the DLC. Not that I think that they are being treated particularly unfair in comparison to other exclusive deals. Or care much for the "We paid the same argument". I just wish the whole exclusive circus to end, and if Activision is hurt financially, they might start to rethink the concept.

8 RepliesBuddy why does no one get this. You have no grounds on this, microsoft and sony were offered the deal, microsoft got outbid, blame them for letting bungie go elsewhere with its exclusives. Like ffs are you dumb ? Your not paying more or less were all paying the same and sony paid bungie to give its players 1 year exclusive content on all dlcs I remember reading about this before release even so people REALLY need to stop complaining, there are no grounds, if anything complain at the blatant lack of content in general, not the exclusive 1 mission that sony paid millions for.

9 RepliesThis is nothing new. The Playstation exclusives were announced well before launch. It's specifically why I bought the game on PS4. Xbox and Playstation gamers pay the same amount for Destiny, the difference is Sony paid Bungie for exclusive content for Playstation. Xbox players will get the content free next Fall. Microsoft didn't pay for the exclusive content so while you paid $60 for the game a Playstation gamer paid $60 + $5 from Sony for their game.

1 ReplyI get your frustration but this sort of practice has sadly become the default way for consoles to compete since the majority of games now come for multiple platforms they all get the same content if not for for these back room deals with developers. There is simply not much profit for developers in keeping games console exclusive so this is the next approach. I do not like it but there is little we can actually do other than to avoid games who do it. I suspect not a whole lot of us will do this so in the end its just another marketing tactic. Does it suck for the players? Yes but unless sales truly drop in significant numbers it will keep happening.
