This is for Everyone saying this game or the DLC isn't worth the money... Divide your cost by your playtime in hours and you'll get what this game cost you per hour... If you actually played all the content including completion of the raid atleast once, there's no way you can even argue it wasn't worth it.. I see people always complaining its not enough content for the cost, but if you actually played all the content there's no way you paid more then a buck per hour of fun lol.. What the hell kinda game spoiled all of you..
EDIT: some are saying that there 200+ hours of playtime don't count because they didn't have fun during it..... You guys make my brain hurt lol
EDIT: So.. Apparently some may be forced to play against there will .. In this case please don't use the simple formula because it won't work for you..
PS: I'm really sorry that this is happening to you I didn't realize that there was some kind of sick slavery ring where people are forced to play games against there will..

And then multiply by the number of shameless PS exclusive handjobs.
-
no Easter eggs in this game nothing random to find its boring after some time
-
I think a better comparison would be to compare how much new content is being added vs how much was in the game at launch. It's safe to say people are going to be replaying the new content over and over, but if they want to charge 1/3 of what the entire game cost, people are going to feel ripped off if they aren't getting 1/3 the content.
-
Videogames always win when you use that formula. The thing is, a movie or something doesn't stop in the middle and make you go outside and collect 100 -blam!-ing dandelions before it can start again, then say collecting dandelions is part of the fun of going to a movie haha Crazy analogue but you know what I mean.

There is more to value and worth than hours and dollars.
-
Enjoy the game..but past 2 weeks the server issues have made me sour..ill drop whatever on exp packs..hr comp to playtime is well worth it..i spend more on dinner and drinks on a Friday night. .but man fix the server issues
-
you can spend a lot of time on destiny (i have). .. but re playing the same strikes over and over is not lots of content. patrol is boring we all know it. the game was advertised as the biggest game they ever made. "you may never finish desTiny".... anyway you can not compare play time to content on this game it does not work. .
-
Cost me 59 cents per hour. Well worth my entertainment money.
-
But that has nothing to do with being critical of the game, nor does it render criticism invalid. We like the game, otherwise we wouldn't be playing. But we want to see it reach the potential we saw in it, the potential the developers saw in it. The frustration is Bunies fault, this is what happens when a company shuts up shop communication wise and ignores valid questions in favour of positive PR fluffery after release, people become angry and try to voice it through ultimatums and themes of finality. We see it more and more with AAA companies lately, massive hype campaigns before release and then positive spin on everything while ignoring the backlash afterward. Things would be much better if people were getting their concerns met through quality communication.

Lol i have 203 hours of playtime according to my xbox and ive enjoyed every second of it so fück your edit :D But basically im paying 29 cents every hour :p
some are saying that there 200+ hours of playtime don't count because they didn't have fun during it..... You guys make my brain hurt lol
So, if I pay someone $60 to slam my head in a car door for 100 hours, I'm not allowed to say I didn't enjoy the massive skull trauma I bought?

43p per hour (that's GBP)
-
My game came free with my xbox and I've got around 200 hours of play time. My xbox costing 400 euros would mean 2 euros per hour. I've enjoyed it all, otherwise I would have turned on my pc
-
I have paid roughly 27 cents an hour to play Destiny....not counting PS plus because that provides many "free games" therefore pretty much paying for itself,... That is across all characters BTW

Edited by Poseidon1133: 10/30/2014 12:02:07 PMI see posts like this defending the value, or comparing it to COD/battlefield DLC for value and say its giving a lot.. but people seem to forget that this is supposed to be an MMO first followed by an FPS/RPG hybrid. If you compare it to the good RPG DLC that has the same price point (dragonborn DLC for ex), the amount of content destiny is giving us is a joke. I am 100% positive that hearthfire added more game content than this will and it was 5 bucks edit: if you look at my prifile, I put about 120 hours in, and had fun doing it with my friends, but after the "expansion" announcement we have all realized the grind is pointless, and only get together now for an hour on tuesdays for the raid.

I have over 121 days logged on Warcraft. And every moment was wonderful #Horde #Alliance

A football £3 - playtime infinite. Still more story then destiny. Monster hunter freedom unite on psp £15 - playtime 300+ hours. You can get a lot more for a lot less. I see where you're coming from but some of us bought destiny believing that we would be getting an epic story and as much as you can argue the point that it's not finished yet, i don't want to have to wait 3 years to get to a point where the story starts to grip me. Had we seen a result in closing down the black garden and it had ended with an approaching threat, most people would be happy, we'd feel like we where spending our time in preparation for something.

Don't forget to factor in the monthly xbox and ps subscriptions
-
I am not excited about it, but am willing to pay $10 to see a movie in theaters. Movies are normally 2 hours long. Thus 1 hour of entertainment for 5 dollars is justified in my mind. 300+ hours play time on Destiny comes out too $1,500. I paid 400 for the Xbox one and 60 for Destiny. I feel my purchase is justified even if I think gameplay is below par
-
I have noticed a lot of people are commenting on this while having a shit... Thought I would join in.... Plop.... ;)
-
It's soo illogical.... If you play 60 hours your entertainment is a dollar an hour, which is more value than you get out of 2 hour movies that cost 15 bucks
-
Ive clocked up 176 hours played, would have been closer to 200 if my internet hadn't gone down for a few days at the beginning of October. I'm loving every minute of my play time so I'm more than happy I got value for money.

Edited by hellr8zZrR: 10/30/2014 11:31:40 AMWhat is the actual measuring unit for fun? I think i lost my scale ... Edit: Warframe = Total playtime 160 hrs effective cost 20 bucks had fun all the time ...

Bought Ps4 with destiny and the 2 dlcs for 390€ So did I get Destiny for free or did I get a big discount on my ps4? Let's say the Destiny cost me 60€, I've played 118h, so Destiny until now cost me 1.96€ per hour. Since I have the 2 Dlcs that cost will come down for sure! P.S: Sorry for my English

Edited by Smitty: 10/30/2014 2:31:15 PMWell I've got 430 hour's played in Destiny...so...yea lol Obviously I enjoy playing.

Edited by fordfff: 10/30/2014 9:03:54 AMExactly how many masochists are playing this game? How the hell you can play a game for 100+ hours without enjoying it? Why don't you do the household tasks instead? Still not entertaining, but at least you do something useful.
