Divide your cost by playtime
This is for Everyone saying this game or the DLC isn't worth the money... Divide your cost by your playtime in hours and you'll get what this game cost you per hour... If you actually played all the content including completion of the raid atleast once, there's no way you can even argue it wasn't worth it.. I see people always complaining its not enough content for the cost, but if you actually played all the content there's no way you paid more then a buck per hour of fun lol.. What the hell kinda game spoiled all of you..
EDIT: some are saying that there 200+ hours of playtime don't count because they didn't have fun during it..... You guys make my brain hurt lol
EDIT: So.. Apparently some may be forced to play against there will .. In this case please don't use the simple formula because it won't work for you..
PS: I'm really sorry that this is happening to you I didn't realize that there was some kind of sick slavery ring where people are forced to play games against there will..

Edited by Lunytunes: 10/30/2014 8:03:01 PMWell, seeing some of those hours went into riding around a sparrow looking for materials or waiting for people to do a raid (because destiny doesn't let you matchmake) oh, can't forget the Legendary Loading screen that loads even if you're on the planet you're about to go into. The game is fun, but let's not act like it was worth what we paid for. MGS Ground Zeroes was fun too and it was as much as Destiny should have been with the current content.

Most poeple don't realize that MMO's take about 100hours to beat... and we have played over 100hours each... whether content is the same... still a lot of played hours.

1 ReplyNow do the same thing with games you consider good and compare the results. Anyone that isn't satisfied will probably feel justified when they see that the cost per hour before they got bored with other games is probably much less than the cost per hour for Destiny.

3 RepliesActually I payed more than 60$ for this. i bought a PS4 just for this game, and while i have enjoyed it, if i would have known it would arrive with so little FRESH content (replaying the same 5 strikes does not count as fresh content, it just means i have nothing else to play) i would not have forked over the 500 dollArs i paid to go next gen and waited for the game to have much more content before thinking of switching. the game that bungie kept us updated on was not nearly what was delivered. i'm still playing since i preordered the dlc, but if a few extra strikes and missions are all i can really expect to get then i can honestly say dark below will probably be the end game for me.

Interesting exercise. Aside from being somewhat concerned that I just learned I've spent 134 hours playing this game in less than 2 months, it means I'm paying about .75/hr to play it. And since my initial cost included the expansion passes, it means I will continue to play, and my cost/hr will continue to decrease.

the games keeps me coming back. Even the grind to find material is fun when you are doing it with someone. The game solo is ok. With friends it is fun. Maybe that is the reason for the haters. They have no friends to play destiny with.

There's hardly much progression for some people due to rng and that creates an artificial time sink. The dlc doesn't provide anything different. It's pretty much gonna be the same structure. Nothing different. Just because a game provides a huge time sink doesn't mean it's enjoyable all the time. I'd rather be doing lots of different stuff in that long amount of time played than to be grinding the same shit over and over, you know? Not saying the game is all bad, but I just don't think the dlc or the game itself is worth it for what little it provides for the players.

Yes, I find it comical the amount of people that say, "I'd rather be doing something else" but yet "I play the game everyday"! in the next sentence. I guess someone must be holding them hostage and only allowed them to get Destiny as the one game in their lifetime.

A lot of people bought a console bundle and so only have that game to play. Also, mechanics are awesome but the story is bad. Think about an amazing jawbreaker with a core that tastes like crap. That's also the exact kind of mentality Harold Ryan has, and exactly why I think the ip may be doomed: just because a player sunk in a lot of hours, or continues to play your game, does not void his negative opinion. If anything it strengthens it, and needs to make you pay attention to why he's still playing, and what you need to fix to keep him playing, ie. Mechanics are solid. Pve was just poorly done, most people that are still playing are either doing vanguard strikes, the raid, or pvp. Most, if not all, of the story missions just don't have anything that makes me want to replay them, and there's really no significant plot, cinematic were pretty non-existent too.

3 Repliesyou are far from the first to defend Destiny by referencing how much game time you have, while it is a good shooter, the thing that makes players grind for so long is the desperation that the loot system will not stiff them this one time, it's akin to sitting with a cup of coins at a slot machine. You sit there hoping that this one time you get something of note that makes the game less of a pain to play, only to be given the same gear you have been given so many times before. Does anyone want any weapons parts, because I am at a loss what to do with my few hundred

Edited by Ve7n00m: 10/30/2014 2:33:57 PMIt costs £16.00 to see a film at the cinema, I don't get to keep that film and I can only watch it once. 3 films at £16 each = £48, the same amount I paid for Destiny. 3 films in time is roughly 4.5 hours of entertainment (which I don't own) I've had nearly 100 hours of fun with Destiny and will probably get another 100+ hours. That's -blam!-ing great value to me, I own Destiny!
