I'm seriously about to stop playing this game...
And go to sleep. It's already 12:00 am and I have work in seven hours. But the loading screen for the next crucible game already started... Well, I might as well play one more game. What difference will 10 minutes make?
-10 minutes later-
Holy crap! A legendary engram? For me? Well, I might as well go to the tower and see what I got/turn in my bounties and THEN go to sleep.
-tower traveling plus Cryptarch decoding amount of time later-
Wow, this new legendary gear is awesome! I have to try it out and level it a bit. Plus I'm only one ascendant material away from another upgrade. Why don't I go on patrol and hit a public event real quick before I turn in?
-one public event and 3-4 patrol missions later-
Well, it's getting pretty late, but I do need to pick up the package from that event and hope that it's *required material* for *gear I'm close to upgrading* I'll definitely stop playing after that.
-tower time + lucky to get that correct ascendant material time later-
Awesome! I feel so lucky to get the correct material even though it was a 50/50 chance... Got that gear upgraded, maybe I should rock a quick strike on tiger to test it out...

I do love this *gear* after the upgra--- Holy balls! It's 1:30? Man, I really need to quit playing this and sleep, but the load for the next strike already started.... I'll finish this one and then I'm DEFINITELY SERIOUSLY FOR REAL QUITTING THIS GAME.
TL;DR: this game is awesome, my job isn't.
Edit: this thread is a lot of fun. There is no response that can harsh the mood. Now that it's pretty high on trending: DeeJ! Get me a job at Bungie! It doesn't matter what! I want to move to Seattle(area) so badly!

This is me. Every night. Can't tell how many times I did this on LOTRO too. "Just gotta turn in this quest" I would tell my wife. "Then I'll be to bed." Well that quest lead to a "go to x and talk to y", which I would do. Then some crafting. Then some rep turn in. Then I needed to do the alt-dance to get some other crafting done to level guild factions, craft new gear. 2 hours later I look at the time....and start the, "I seriously need to quit now" routine. Did that is Mass Effect 2 when I first played it. Kept telling myself "I'll just finish this one thing," starting at about 11:30. 5AM rolls around and I'm still playing (thankfully not needing to go to work). So I crash for about 5 hours, wake up and keep playing. If I didn't have other stuff to do, I would do that in Destiny.

I feel your pain. I work 12 hour days and have had three days off in the last fifteen. I go to my son's soccer games, my daughter's volleyball games, school, functions, and have not missed a postseason baseball game. Yet still I have 48 hours played in the last two weeks. God, I need some sleep.

3 RepliesI'm sorry but this needs a proper burial. First of all this games story was bland, bleak, empty, boring, easy as fuk, and had no sense of direction. They depleted their entire budget on advertising and pathetic character voices that were removed when they scrapped the original GOOD story line. Anyone who disagrees with the story sucking ass, think about what system your playing and what potential there is considering your basically on a lower scale PC now (Next Gen Console). Look at Warframe please for an example of how much maps and content is easily possible, which BTW is a free game. Once we get games that are true story line driven for this "Next Gen" like Witcher 3 and Elder Scrolls, defending this story line should be murdered at the thought of the 500 million dollar budget here. Point is, you cannot sit here and defend this game while they are already selling content that's ODC labeled as DLC. I don't care to hear you 40 year old virgins say you kids are ungrateful. Your a blind sheep casual that would buy a bag of dog shit labeled as brown gold. True gamers know what is expected in a 500 million dollar game lol and whats been put on the table is a disgusting disgrace.

1 ReplyI'm ashamed to be in this camp. I do this all the time as the hours tick away. It's so easy to chain events together in Destiny and get lost in time. On a side note, this post actually looks like a pretty good social experiment. It's interesting to see how many people posted an ignorant statement about the OP quitting and no one cares because they didn't bother to read or even skim the actual post. They didn't even read the TLDR!

5 RepliesMy wife says I am addicted to the game as well! I told her that I could be addicted to much worse things (drinking, cigarettes, gambling, other women, etc). The fact is that she knows exactly where I am when I am playing Destiny! She knows I am not out at the bars drinking where she would be worried or at the casino betting away the savings account. I agree with her that I am indeed addicted to this game but compared to the addictions that are possible, this one is far less concerning... Unless of course she were a Dreg!!

i dont know , maybe its just me and ive played better games but Destiny has nothing , literally nothing to even entice me into playing it again. I keep opening it and getting to the character select screen but then it hits me...."whats the point". Ive done it all , played every mission (tbf once youve played the first mission youve played them all) . I have really bad luck with the RNG so get nothing for my effort and all my friends have quit so i cant even do the raid/strikes with those i play games regularly with. I really enjoyed Destiny for the first week and then it just went downhill. Im looking forward to the new DLC even though it will probably get dull within a week aswell. Destiny just isnt a game worth playing for me at the moment and i can only hope it gets better over time. Its my first regret gaming purchase this gen as its my only game that sits there gathering dust.

I asked my therapist about the time spent on Destiny and he said he would like to help me. But he has a PS4 and I have Xbox360. I am thinking that buying a PS4 would be cheaper than his hourly rate.
