hate random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else already have...

How can player wear what they want and still be level 30? As it stands the only way to reach lvl 30 is to have 4 peices of armor with 30 light each. As exotics can reach 30 light the rest of the armor must be obtained through random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else is worthless. I believe this is not the best way to reach lvl 30 because it completley ruins the entire armor system. First, it makes every other legendary armor obsolete because regular armor caps at 27 light. Playing on your lvl 30 and just got a sweet legendary drop? oh it's a legendary armor engram? No way it reloads auto rifles quicker? Well, dismantled. Secondly, it prevents players from customizing their characters to their play style by making default characters with all the same armor perks. Want your lvl 30 character to specialize in hand cannons by being able to reload them quicker and hold more ammo for them? Too bad you get to reload special weapons faster and hold more heavy ammo like everyone else! And what happens when they raise the level cap? Will all the armor currently in the game become useless? Well I might have a solution for that. Bungie could add a random drop from the raid called a "VOG Seal" or something. What this does is you can apply it to any piece of legendary armor and it unlocks another progression sphere on that armor to be leveled up and increase it's light to 30. Now any and all legendary armor is now useful. Obviously there will be some limitations like, it can only be applied to a piece of armor once, cannot be applied to armor that already has a max light cap of 30, etc... The same concept can be applied to the new raid and dlc coming out. With this I think everyone wins. Players can use which armor they want but still be required to play the raids. Problem: Raid Armor, - Is the only way to reach lvl 30. - Makes every other armor obsolete. - Ruins character customization by having everyone be a default lvl 30 character. Solution: - Add a random drop for a "raid seal" which can be applied to any legendary armor to increase it's light Thoughts?

  • As a avid player and participate in raids, I have to say I agree completely with this idea. Before you bash me, hear me out. I have a level 28 Warlock, and I think he looks amazing, (my psn is the same as my name, check me out of you'd like) but the fact of the matter is, at the end of the day if I want to reach level 30 I have to sacrifice not only my play style, but the personalization of my character. I love my helmet, I do not like the warlocks raid helmet! I like my boidfang vestment because it's classy and put together; I do not like the tattered and raggy look of the warlock chest piece. I could go on and on but the fact of the matter is this guy brings up a valid point and a great idea. To add on don't pretend you don't think it's a little silly that almost all of the raid armor props only help you IN THE RAID (correct me if I'm wrong) but that's dumb to someone like me who loves the crucible. I like that my vest lets me re spawn with grenades and such. Bump this if you're a supporter of this idea. I would absolutely love a way to level my current armor to 30 besides raid. Even if it means you get the seals from the raid, or it's as rare a chance to get as getting a exotic from a rare engram, I would love it and it would give me personally a reason to continue putting hours into the game and playing raids. I hope bungie already has plans like these implemented and this guy here is just insightful.

    • Awesome idea bro. This way we can upgrade any armor we like. I do like the design of the iron banner armor better than the raid armor but sadly the iron banner armor can only have max 27 lights. This way players will keep playing raid forever.

    • Raid seal? YES! I hate the Vex helmet so I stopped raiding. I like the Titan helmet I have now. I might be inclined to go back to raiding if they implemented something like that.

    • Cause being light level 30 means something. Raid gear gives stats to help in the raid thats it. You wan't to use different gear for the stats go ahead.

    • I guess you didn't read the article about the Iron Banner making armor available, to reach level thirty? If you don't like the game, play something else.

    • Didn't read the whole thing but I agree with the zero customization options if you want to be level 30. The exotic you choose is the only customization you get, otherwise you wear the same piece of armor as everyone else minus +int/disc/str stats on it.

    • Could you get raid gear without regular gear or being carried? No? It must not be worthless then.

      • i very much agree. im already in the process of outfitting my character with precisely the right gear for the perks i want that suit my play style and the colors i want. the game has enough variety in gear to make this level of customization possible. but if you can never get to level 30 with this gear then they have to offer a variety of gear that can beyond raid gear, and im hoping the DLC will introduce this since the cap will be raised. you are exactly right that if everyone is sporting the exact same set of raid gear then everyone has the same perks and the same style with no uniqueness. once everyone hits level 30, we are all identical, which is a fail if true.

      • Not a bad idea. There is only one proplem, the bungie devs (who I'm convinced are just a bunch of lemurs someone released in a room of computers) would have to execute it. Which means as soon as the seal is placed on the armor, the game would explode.

      • Dumb.. It's called progression so naturally every is going to have the same kind of armor to hit the max lvl.. It's like that with every single game that has progression... Get this armor to do said raid ... Use the armor you get from said raid to do next raid and so on and so forth I do think they should implement raid marks so you can buy raid lvl gear so you don't have to rely on Rng to get raid gear tho

      • Bump. Armor customization most definitely would enhance this game!!! I'm mildly content in the status quo. But if I'm grinding for upgrade materials. Let me grind something to customize my armor perks!!

      • i think this is a good idea. i came from games like mass effect and knights of the old republic where Armour customization was fun and made each character unique.

      • Nooo you can use iron banner gear to get to 30, so you could have the raid boots, iron banner gloves and helmet, and raid chest. Or exotic chest, helmet, gloves etc..

Dude chill iron banner will have armour that can reach 30 as well so if you can't do or don't want to do VoG just hit IB when it's next on.

        • I haven't noticed a difference in the armor ratings anyhow. At level 29 my titan dies just as easily as he did at level 8 against those lowly dregs. I think the whole level idea has been applied all wrong. At level 20+ that yard trash in Old Russia shouldn't even scratch the paint on my titan's armor.

          • There's already been an exotic weapon and exotic armor upgrade item datamined, which would lead me to believe that exotics will never be obsolete, but merely require you to upgrade it to raise the attack.
