hate random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else already have...

How can player wear what they want and still be level 30? As it stands the only way to reach lvl 30 is to have 4 peices of armor with 30 light each. As exotics can reach 30 light the rest of the armor must be obtained through random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else is worthless. I believe this is not the best way to reach lvl 30 because it completley ruins the entire armor system. First, it makes every other legendary armor obsolete because regular armor caps at 27 light. Playing on your lvl 30 and just got a sweet legendary drop? oh it's a legendary armor engram? No way it reloads auto rifles quicker? Well, dismantled. Secondly, it prevents players from customizing their characters to their play style by making default characters with all the same armor perks. Want your lvl 30 character to specialize in hand cannons by being able to reload them quicker and hold more ammo for them? Too bad you get to reload special weapons faster and hold more heavy ammo like everyone else! And what happens when they raise the level cap? Will all the armor currently in the game become useless? Well I might have a solution for that. Bungie could add a random drop from the raid called a "VOG Seal" or something. What this does is you can apply it to any piece of legendary armor and it unlocks another progression sphere on that armor to be leveled up and increase it's light to 30. Now any and all legendary armor is now useful. Obviously there will be some limitations like, it can only be applied to a piece of armor once, cannot be applied to armor that already has a max light cap of 30, etc... The same concept can be applied to the new raid and dlc coming out. With this I think everyone wins. Players can use which armor they want but still be required to play the raids. Problem: Raid Armor, - Is the only way to reach lvl 30. - Makes every other armor obsolete. - Ruins character customization by having everyone be a default lvl 30 character. Solution: - Add a random drop for a "raid seal" which can be applied to any legendary armor to increase it's light Thoughts?

  • I for one hate that some blue armor for the Hunter looks better than some raid gear.. But guess what happens when I equip those..

  • Don't worry. Once DLC comes you don't even have to worry about getting that level 30 light gear. There will be a new level 32 gear set that will be the only set worth wearing. Yay customization is fun!

    • You know those speed boosters that xur sells? They make a rare sparrow legendary and increase its speed? Why can't we implement that for legendary armor?

    • Wanna hear something else crazy? Our current Exotics are going to become useless as well. Logically they should do something to not let that happen. Key word. LOGICALLY.

          • you can hit 30 now going afk in the iron banner. So that would be easier than raiding at this point. Instead of loot caves we now have PvP caves.... good job Bungie.

            • Nah, you only really ever need to hit the cap for the hard raid. And besides, you can hit level 29 without any raid gear

              • you might be misunderstanding the system then, the raid gear is to get more raid gear and to battle the vex better. You might be misunderstanding the gear and its purpose. besides the raid most light can go up to 27 later on such a system to further your light will happen. i dont care about 30 because it does not mean a dam thing from 29 to 30. i would say slow your roll and come up with some special gear match to make your pvp and pve adventure good.

                • 30 is just a number. You can customize any way you want for level 29, which allows you to do nearly anything in the game just as well. Want that 30 for VOG hard? Just save that raid gear for when you raid then.

                  • I agree with this. They gotta make more armor options or atleast make it so you can reroll the armor of the raid. Like they are going to do with the iron banner weapons. This way you can have raid armor and still form your armor to your playstyle. Cosmetic armor would be cool to so you can make your character look the way you want without having to worry about armor stats.

                  • The only reason to get to lvl 30 is to do the raid on hard. I use my other legendary gear for crucible (where it doesn't matter what level you are) because they have better perks for PVP for example better hand cannon reload speed, more Heavy ammo or an extra grenade.

                    • Actually, that raid seal sounds like a good idea. Not only add an orb, but perhaps allow you to modify the perk to what the raid would have had? I think that's a legitimate idea that not many people would object to.

                    • They might be implementing a similar system next DLC. There was mention of "exotic shards" or something somewhere (unofficial info). Raid gear can roll for different stats. All 3 of the raid boots I got for my warlock had different stats. +113 strength, + INT/STR, and +INT/DIS

Otherwise you only really need to be level 28 for the nightfall. You can wear a plethora of things to make yourself 'special'. When you want to raid , throw on your gear, and raid away.

                    • World of Warcraft, 10+ year MMO, millions of players, a veritable cash vault, with every player paying $15 per month not including expansions. They do the same thing. New raid and content comes out, previous armor is obsolete. The way they allow your armor to not be obsolete (and this was added in early 2011, 6 years after WoW came out, I believe) is by letting you keep the armor design by getting and 'transmogrophying' it (I think, haven't played in a while, but that process is right). Meaning, if you like the design, you go get it and keep it, which for some of us required rerunning early raids. The armor you get regularly takes you to level 29 with an exotic, and if you do get a full raid set, you choose your one exotic. That's normal or you'd have people running around at level 29 with 3 exotics and the great perks that go with them. Can't have that or PVP gets 'broken' and bitched about like it already is but even worse. Games like these are intended to get a small portion of people to the highest level and beating the hardest raid to get the best gear. You put in the time and effort, you get the loot. Games like these thrive on having a small population having the best gear with the middle population trying to get there and possibly having completed it only a few times. I am all for your idea, but that's also a typical method. Once new content comes out, they make the raid 100% easier so that the middle population can steam roll it to be ready for the next raid, all previous legendaries are obsolete for raiding, and when the next raid (the one after Crota) comes out, the VoG raid gear will be obsolete. Similarly, though, the raid armor system is used in any other MMO-style game. You can customize a little, typically via class item or shader, but ultimately, you don't choose. For the time being, making any and all legendary gear useful, you remove the need for the raid just so some people can say, look i'm level 30! which is useless UNLESS you're doing the raid on hard or the new level 32 raid. This is how these games typically go, learn the system, but my god, don't break this for those who understand and like the game the way it is

                    • Problem is most miss the point.... The ONLY REASON TO BE A 30, right now at least, IS TO DO THE RAID ON HARD MODE. Nothing else in the game requires being 30..... I constantly run around as a 28-29 because i like my armor perks and they help me more.

                    • I cant wait to see how Bungie raises the level cap and eventually ruins everything people have worked for. I have, like you, already thought of way to raise the level cap and as it stand Bungie has developed themselves into a corner and are going to end up pissing a good amount of people when they release new armor with better base light than what people currently had to grind to get.
