hate random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else already have...
How can player wear what they want and still be level 30?
As it stands the only way to reach lvl 30 is to have 4 peices of armor with 30 light each. As exotics can reach 30 light the rest of the armor must be obtained through random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else is worthless. I believe this is not the best way to reach lvl 30 because it completley ruins the entire armor system.
First, it makes every other legendary armor obsolete because regular armor caps at 27 light.
Playing on your lvl 30 and just got a sweet legendary drop? oh it's a legendary armor engram? No way it reloads auto rifles quicker? Well, dismantled.
Secondly, it prevents players from customizing their characters to their play style by making default characters with all the same armor perks.
Want your lvl 30 character to specialize in hand cannons by being able to reload them quicker and hold more ammo for them? Too bad you get to reload special weapons faster and hold more heavy ammo like everyone else!
And what happens when they raise the level cap? Will all the armor currently in the game become useless?
Well I might have a solution for that.
Bungie could add a random drop from the raid called a "VOG Seal" or something. What this does is you can apply it to any piece of legendary armor and it unlocks another progression sphere on that armor to be leveled up and increase it's light to 30.
Now any and all legendary armor is now useful.
Obviously there will be some limitations like, it can only be applied to a piece of armor once, cannot be applied to armor that already has a max light cap of 30, etc...
The same concept can be applied to the new raid and dlc coming out. With this I think everyone wins.
Players can use which armor they want but still be required to play the raids.
Problem: Raid Armor,
- Is the only way to reach lvl 30.
- Makes every other armor obsolete.
- Ruins character customization by having everyone be a default lvl 30 character.
Solution:
- Add a random drop for a "raid seal" which can be applied to any legendary armor to increase it's light

They've mentioned armor reforging with the next iron banner. They only discussed reforging specifically for the IB armor. But that concept could be expanded to included pve armor. We'll have to wait and see. Secondly that armor is not useless. Right now in game the only place lvl 30 is relevant is in the hard raid. For the rest of the content, the best gear will be the set that best represents your play style and weapons. Not the highest light level.

3 RepliesThere is no need to be 30 atm. Everything in the game is set at max hardness 28 besides the raid.

Good points. Addition: "Armor Skins" like in Guild Wars 2 -Like a specific armor set for it's looks, but another armor set for it's abilities? Armor skin comes in play to take care of that.

Helm costs 1-2 hard mode seals. The drop rate is horrible for raid gear. I know people that have been raiding since raid launch and have 1 or 0 pieces because rng shafts them. That needs to be addressed.

That's actually a fantastic idea. I personally do not want to be shoe-horned into VoG raid armor in order to achieve the highest level, and be able to adequately perform in future content.

5 RepliesFirst off the dlc moves the light cap to 32 so you'd have to be able to use it more then once on a piece of armor or it'll still be useless. Second I agree with raid gear messing up the leveling system seeing as not everyone has 6 people they can play with and do the raid with every week it seems very unfair and is why match making would help fix this a lot but it'd also make Hard mode impossible, people would leave as soon as they died and rage when anyone else died only fix for that is put a penalty on the raid, like other mmos do, where you leave a fight before it's beat are you get a 30 minute ban from all match making. Third they just need way more gear if they want to keep people playing. They have way to little of an amount of gear for this game. Most mmo's have tons of pieces or ways to tune them to the way you want your character to play or to fight a certain fight. They just wanted to make things simple to get to level 29 for people who aren't hardcore players and for hardcore players you get a once a week raid.

4 RepliesWhat they should do is take off the mods and make them a obtainable item. that way you collect them. Then you can equip them to your armor so that way you wear what you want with the mods you want. As for the 30 thing i agree it sucks would be nice to wear what i want and be 30.

The only reason they attach the light rating to armor is to sell future content via power creep. That's why the disc locked access code, or dlc as they call it, will have gear that will take you to light 32. It's a shortcut. Rather than creating an impressive expansion, they can just slap some of the cut content in with the ability to get your level higher, and make some money off of it. It's a cash grab. Bungie = Zynga

17 RepliesSome of the people posting here do not get the OP at all lol. He's not asking for another way to hit 30. He's asking for a way to hit 30 with the actual armor that we like. An even better idea would be to have a seal for each individual piece with the same drop rate as the raid pieces themselves (a boot seal to upgrade the boots you like so you can hit 30 light) This DOES not make obtaining level 30 easier, just makes the experience at level 30 that much more enjoyable...
