hate random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else already have...

How can player wear what they want and still be level 30? As it stands the only way to reach lvl 30 is to have 4 peices of armor with 30 light each. As exotics can reach 30 light the rest of the armor must be obtained through random armor drops by playing the Raid, everything else is worthless. I believe this is not the best way to reach lvl 30 because it completley ruins the entire armor system. First, it makes every other legendary armor obsolete because regular armor caps at 27 light. Playing on your lvl 30 and just got a sweet legendary drop? oh it's a legendary armor engram? No way it reloads auto rifles quicker? Well, dismantled. Secondly, it prevents players from customizing their characters to their play style by making default characters with all the same armor perks. Want your lvl 30 character to specialize in hand cannons by being able to reload them quicker and hold more ammo for them? Too bad you get to reload special weapons faster and hold more heavy ammo like everyone else! And what happens when they raise the level cap? Will all the armor currently in the game become useless? Well I might have a solution for that. Bungie could add a random drop from the raid called a "VOG Seal" or something. What this does is you can apply it to any piece of legendary armor and it unlocks another progression sphere on that armor to be leveled up and increase it's light to 30. Now any and all legendary armor is now useful. Obviously there will be some limitations like, it can only be applied to a piece of armor once, cannot be applied to armor that already has a max light cap of 30, etc... The same concept can be applied to the new raid and dlc coming out. With this I think everyone wins. Players can use which armor they want but still be required to play the raids. Problem: Raid Armor, - Is the only way to reach lvl 30. - Makes every other armor obsolete. - Ruins character customization by having everyone be a default lvl 30 character. Solution: - Add a random drop for a "raid seal" which can be applied to any legendary armor to increase it's light Thoughts?

  • That's fine, the raid gear would still be marginally better though because it has other perks like Vex breaker and Oracle disruptor.

  • I don't mind this idea (personally I wouuld never want a random) however, I don't think we should just yet. Why? Well just look at the strikes. People will join up, go AFK, and take in all the loot without ever doing anything. It also doesn't help the fact that you can't kick anyone in matchmaking.

  • When you say "MATCH MAKING FOR VAULT OF GLASS IS NEEDED" you clearly don't have any idea what you're talking about. Look at how bad the strikes are broken, the raid matchmaking would just be a pile.

  • I agree with seals though I'd alter it a bit and just add transmutation where as you apply stats from one piece to another that way if you like that sweet lvl 10 blue(lol) you can use it if you want. There needs to be matchmaking for weekly. Nightfall I'm torn. And VoG no. No matchmaking for the raid. Matchmaking does not allow voice communication which is vital for raid. There does need to be an in game raid finder tool. Also with matchmaking I have absolutely 0 knowledge about who I am paired with. More often than not there will be an increase in shit bags who hold their guns backwards. The argument "I don't have 5 friends to play" gets solved by in the game raid finder tool. With raid finder you have the choice of who you want to get paired with.

Match making for raid, nightfall and heroic weekly strikes would be good. So is your idea about raid seals . They were talking about paying some motes of light or shards or maybe glimmer to re-roll weapon perks in the next iron banner maybe that could be extended to Armour or maybe they could have a new currency that is gained from raids that can be used to buy lvl 30 Armour pieces from the faction vendors, that way they could have a few different sets instead of just the one for each of the 3 guardian types.

  • Yes, matchmaking pl0x. I don't like having to go out of game to get a god damned team. That is a design failure of the game.

  • agreed im curious what they are gonna do to get to level 32 since there are 3 ways they could go 1: something similar to your idea 2: similar to your idea but normal legendary caps at 31 while raid legendary gets you to 32 so now we have 2 sets of raid gear to pick and choose so thats.... something 3: all gear is now useless and we need to get brand new set of armor to rank up hoping for the 1st to be true

  • I think you're on to something with the raid seal and allowing you to upgrade armor further. However, I feel that those should be an exotic level item that potentially only drops off of Atheon. It would provide some longevity to the raid, that would keep people going back if they find new armor out in the "world" that they want to upgrade, because maybe that piece allows you to reload hand cannons faster and that's the weapon you want to use.

  • What about the idea some other games use where you can use an old armor to modify the appearance of the higher end armor just cosmetically?

    • Nice idea, but i don't agreed with that you need play "Ride" to got something for upgrade you gear to lvl30. Not all people have 5 oters people at the same time to play Ride. If Raids be can do with matchmaking then i can agreed. We should be use Mote of Light to buy something for Speaker what which allows us to, upgrade our gear to lvl30, and of course , we should can choice what perks we want. Or Bungie just let us lvl up normal like we was doing to lvl 20 and do something with gear to be personal choice of players. PS. Sorry for my english, if you guys don't understand something.

        • The stat rolls for your non-raid armor might be preferred for PVP. I have a complete 100% Intellect/Discipline build for PVP, but I use raid gear and exotics for PVE. I'm dreading the Iron Banner, but I do plan to buy what ever armor Saladin sells b/c it can reach level 30 now.

          • Am i the only one that sees his true purpose in this comment? everybody is getting offtopic and i (as a true RPG gamer and a FPS lover) can relate. the endless "dismantle" of picked up greens or blue loot from strikes/crucible and even the engrams. i have so many materials that i dont have to worry for upgrades(except the shards ofcourse) the next 10 years. his purpose and the tought of many(i guess) exchange them for something. 100 weapon parts for ascendent energy or 150 sapphire wire for 1 shard. the same for the modification of armor, exclusive raid drops or 28 nightfall drops, even rare for those instances to obtain such a "modifier" . ofcourse there are many ways to change the appearance and armor switching for the different kinds of scenery. its fun and it keeps you busy but you truly make that excotic or legendary "yours" with a extra stat or perk, only for the strongest to obtain. what i want to say is(offtopic... the irony i know). as a RPG gamer (WoW for example) you want to have the feeling that there is always a purpose, a goal to achieve and that you grind something for hours, days even weeks to gain something of worth. dont make it easy just make it "accesable" so we dont have the feeling our inventory is useless.

          • Ummm i have like 3-4 pieces of armor for each slot on my warlock so i can customize the way i play depending on the scenario. For pvp i play sunsinger so i equip sunbreakers so my nade lasts longer. If i play voidwalker ill equip voidfang chest instead for instant nades. For raid i equip a different set to max intelect to be able to use super more often or have a self revive ready quicker. So yea u can customize the way you want.

I do thinks it's dumb how every guardian who is 30 looks the same besides one exotic. I'd rather be 29 and different than 30 and look the same. I love to check out other guardians and see what the went with regarding armor and weapons but it starts to look the same. Kinda sad. Wish we had more to choose from.

heh....it's not over yet in a month the new dlc will come out and all that shiney raid gear will be worthless as well because only the new raids 5 pieces of gear will be worth anything. so this is how the dlcs will go... keep in mind this gear in no way helps you actually do anything in the game, in pvp it does nothing, in pve monsters auto scale or are already far to easy and it's not like any new modes are being added to make use of the added increase to the level. it will simply let you run the raid better which doesn't mean anything once you have the gear. so great plan i guess bunglevision step 1> all your gear is deemed worthless step 2> run the raids over and over and over again until rngebus gives you the raid gear you need. step 3 wait for next dlc rinse and repeat.

            • I just want to reach the max level without raiding. I was part of a few Hard / Nightmare mode raid teams in SWTOR and you are at the mercy of your team. In Destiny, I don't want to raid with strangers, and if I make friends.....well then every time I login and just want to do my own thing I'll get bombarded with "Let's play" requests. It's true. I am a lonewolf in shooters. I enjoy playing along side others, but just don't ask to be my friend. I'm not sacrificing the lonewolf in me for another game where you have to make friends. I make that sacrifice in SWTOR. I will not in this game.

              • Well one your talking about light level who cares really. And if your wanting to specify towards certain perks for weapons. I'm guessing your talking about PvP where the only dif. In crucible is class, skill, upgrades and weapons. Armor plays no part in pvp. Everyone is equal health and armor.

Here's the thing... Being level 30 has no advantage over being level 28 or 29 outside of the Hard mode raid and Iron Banner (Probably) as those are the only times one will face enemies higher than level 28. (Bosses may be an exception, untested) You can just wear what you want, and put on your 30 light gear to do the raid if you so choose.
