Up until this point nothing, zero about the raid was about "changing battle conditions" You could do it the same way everytime so I call Shenanigans on that one. From the mob spawns to the bounties, nothing is dynamic. The only changing conditions we have in this game are the maps that were selected on playlists or the RNG loot drops. The Raid does not have a countdown timer at the end. [/quote] EDIT3: One of things I was reminded of was that people were not as absolutely opposed to getting randoported into the Timestream if they had loadout control. I use a certain set of weapons when I am on the stay team vs the stream team. This is the tactical planning Bungie had initially advised us to pursue. Now I have to find the middle ground or face an ammo penalty when I switch from Icebreaker (max 6 rounds) to a void sniper (would leave me with 3 rounds) to possibly deal with the Venus Minotaur. If there was some sort of loadout switching on the fly like, I don't know, long press of X or something, then maybe this would be easier for people to swallow. That feedback was given side by side with the requests to not do this to Atheon. Devs did what they wanted and ignored our requests to wait until they could balance the challenge. TL;DR: DeeJ just let you all know that Dev intent will outweigh player feedback everytime. FINAL EDIT: With the Monkeys gone my team hit the patched raid last night and finished it with no trouble. 7 minutes behind our best time (largely due to bugs see below). We had a plan going in and my well organized team had no issue with the randoportation. No wipe occurred. Given that I can see how an unorganized team will have a measure of difficulty adjusting to this. As a group we said "this was no more difficult than it was before". However we did run into a bug. Twice coming out of the portal Time's Vengeance was not activated. When the oracles in the time stream where killed the buff did not activate at all. I am assuming this is an actual bug that Bungie should be looking into.

  • Love the fix, and I'm pretty sure that most people who whine about the changes are just those who aren't good enough to handle it legit. Stay mad :) (Can't wait to collect all your tears when they prevent the Templar from being pushed off, too.)

    • Whiny baby. Don't make the part of the game that I'd supposed to be hardest actually hardest. Atheon was easier than Templar. This was a good fix

      • This is why devs deserve to be shit on they suck at making any good story, they seem to have the ludachris idea thinking they can make a balanced mmo when they have no idea how to make an mmo. In all the mmos ive played if a lower level tried to mess with a higher level elite they would get stomped on. They think they can take our money for an uncomplete game. dlc are meant to be extras likes new zones that have boss battle guantlets.

        I love the fix as well. When the raid becomes "on farm" for my group , that little bit of randomness will spice it up a little. The raid is still fun though. Edit.. not to mention they are fixing iron banner

      • Issue is not the actual change, it's the timing of it. Make this change the first week if it was truly a bug. Letting groups create a strategy and use it for this long, only to make the boss harder now doesn't make any sense. Groups that have only just killed him will now go in, wipe a lot, and then just stop raiding.

          Tldr part is how games need to be more often. Only complaint is how long it took since people are now used to the broken way.

          • The patch is up and there is nothing we can do now. Its fine, learn new mechanics, but what will still haunt me is the -blam!-ing rng. I find it unfair that I, a level 30 titan who has ran the raid three times a week still hasnt been to obtain the vex, even though it sucks its an accomplishment, and then have a lvl 25 walk in and earn it from an easy knock off glitch. Now i have to work extra hard just to have a slight possibilty to obtain it. I hope the next patch rewards players accordingly. For example, make the next raid exotic unuseable until you max out your level again. This way the gun will fit proper with the level of your player.

          • I feel like Bungie wants to make EVERYTHING in this game luck based. Now we see that they intend on making the boss completion luck based just like everything else. No longer will experience matter. Beating Atheon will rely heavily on luck. Now when he opens a time stream, we'll all be praying that he teleports the right people. If he doesn't...? Probable wipe inbound. Atheon is a giant slot machine now. Woohoo, welcome to the Vault of Glass Casino. Test your luck and see if you can get the correct people teleported. Wrong persons teleported? Test your luck again, and again, and again.

          • The gates not letting people through is not an issue. People have to move away from the gate and not just stand there when the go through the gate. If they stand right in the portal as they come out, it keeps other people from going through the gate.

            • It really doesn't take that long to figure out how to use the relic and protect the portals. It'll take slightly longer, good teams from before the patch won't have problems learning one new mechanic.

                • I don't mind fixing the "of the ledge issue" but random teleport is bs. They don't understand not everyone is not a good enough to be teleported. Which includes me. Thanks bungie for making raid and lvl 30 I reachable for me.

                  • I've only teleported 2 or 3 times...I usually defend...In the normal raid it's not too bad..but in the hard raid I'm told u need oracle disruption ...I've never teleported in the hard raid..I have not been lucky enough to get a weapon with Oracle disruption thanks to your RNG bungie..ty for screwing me

                  • well, bungie made the raid go from "challenging but doable" to "chaotic and nearly impossible without a hardcore clan of neckbeards". don't think i'll be setting foot into the vault again.

                    • So they went through with it huh? Lol. The raid is officially destroyed now. Glad I helped my friends run through it and beat it this weekend for their first and only time.
