Thanks for not listening about Atheon Bungie

Up until this point nothing, zero about the raid was about "changing battle conditions" You could do it the same way everytime so I call Shenanigans on that one. From the mob spawns to the bounties, nothing is dynamic. The only changing conditions we have in this game are the maps that were selected on playlists or the RNG loot drops. The Raid does not have a countdown timer at the end. [/quote] EDIT3: One of things I was reminded of was that people were not as absolutely opposed to getting randoported into the Timestream if they had loadout control. I use a certain set of weapons when I am on the stay team vs the stream team. This is the tactical planning Bungie had initially advised us to pursue. Now I have to find the middle ground or face an ammo penalty when I switch from Icebreaker (max 6 rounds) to a void sniper (would leave me with 3 rounds) to possibly deal with the Venus Minotaur. If there was some sort of loadout switching on the fly like, I don't know, long press of X or something, then maybe this would be easier for people to swallow. That feedback was given side by side with the requests to not do this to Atheon. Devs did what they wanted and ignored our requests to wait until they could balance the challenge. TL;DR: DeeJ just let you all know that Dev intent will outweigh player feedback everytime. FINAL EDIT: With the Monkeys gone my team hit the patched raid last night and finished it with no trouble. 7 minutes behind our best time (largely due to bugs see below). We had a plan going in and my well organized team had no issue with the randoportation. No wipe occurred. Given that I can see how an unorganized team will have a measure of difficulty adjusting to this. As a group we said "this was no more difficult than it was before". However we did run into a bug. Twice coming out of the portal Time's Vengeance was not activated. When the oracles in the time stream where killed the buff did not activate at all. I am assuming this is an actual bug that Bungie should be looking into.

    I'm so glad they have been so concerned about implementing more characteristics into the raid, rather than fixing all of the bugs that actually make it difficult to complete. I took a crew in last night and here are a few BUGS that killed us: We had people get killed by Atheon while inside the relic's shield (only 3-4 were in the middle and still got killed) *We had two people die from this and they both were chosen to be sent after oracles - leaving only myself with the relic and not enough time to kill vex and oracles and wait for someone to come into the portal to kill oracles as well. The portal team got killed by Oracles though all of them were dead (everyone was cleansed and I've raided many times so I know where the oracles spawn and whether they are dead or not). Picking the relic up became difficult because the same bug that happens every now and then when trying to get chests happen - where you hold down the button and the "item collecting" circle goes around but you don't collect the item or chest - this wasting time trying the equip the relic. Another time vengeance wasn't active. And lastly, the infamous portal not actually portalling people through, even when going one at a time. Just a few bugs, but I'm so glad the devs are so concerned about controlling portal teams.

  • We have roles and strategies all the way to atheon. Then it becomes a Scooby doo episode with everyone running out of different doors.

    • I think some egos got hurt on the dev team from the exploits and or clever strategies used against atheon if they added rng teleportation and skipped all the bugs. They either... A. Meant the fight to be about boring pew pew with occasional lucky situation skill use and minimal strategy B. Artificially extending the life of the raid by trying to make it more difficult. Except its not more difficult. It just takes a little bit longer and is ALOT less fun. Either way, I'm positive most users understand that the addition of random teleportation was not to fix a bug. I was hoping to coach new users on how to complete the raid up until the new raid came out. Since the patch its just too annoying to do so now. Now my mentality is more of a "glad im 30 and its over with" "instead of "damn that's fun can't wait to help others do it again".

      • I'll have to stop you and say BUT.. If you have played the raid since the patch you will have noticed there is much more communication between players instead of just "Venus" or "Mars"! People are learning better how the gates work, how to play all the roles and basically no more "I only shoot oracles"! People doing it now are much better prepared to confidently play through it with different people because they are simply experiencing more of it, and that is really what it is, an experience!

          so i think LFG is now dead. There is no way you can do this with randoms which was half the fun, meeting new people, organisng the team, winning and getting to know people. There is no way in hell after my experience today i will do atheon with anyone other than the 6-8 players i trust. One of many terrible design choices made to cripple what should be a stunning game.

            • Gotta love what Bungie has turned into, changing all the rules every time we beat one of their crappy "challenges", getting all pissy when we find their goofs and trying to force THEIR idea of an "epic gaming experience" onto their consumers. Not to mention the superb business tactic of dumping on your players and fan base, brilliant move.

                Anyone remember the scarab gun in Halo 2? The one you had to glitch to get. And let's not forget the skulls. I miss when Bungie actually inspired adventure. Now its "Go to this checkpoint and deploy dinkle bot".

              • Well written. Remove the random teleports !! It's not what the players want, most want the old way where the 3 in the back were teleported. We like our old teamwork, tactics, pre set weapon load outs and strategy and DO NOT like RNG !!

                  • It's wonderful to know that feedback isn't listened to. So far the only bits that have been listened to, it seems, are "OMG NERF MYTHOCLAST" followed swiftly by a removal of said nerf (along with the removal of the AR nerf) for PvE. Besides that... what have they listened to from what we've said? Seriously? What has been actually taken into account and acted on? "We value your feedback" sounds more and more like a blatant lie every patch.

                  • i agree, its pretty much ruined the end game of the raid. thats not counting in the fact that bungie is apparently taking classes in how to make all of your fans leave you the quickest

                    I got four invites for the raid earlier while playing Shadow of Mordor. I laughed, cringed, and then planned my assault against a rather cocky orc chief. I got no time for cheap randomness, and couldn't be less excited for the dlc raid I got when I was dumb enough to buy the dlc at launch.

                  • Our group just finished the, "new rules" raid. The new random ports sucked, especially because we had a newbie with us. We made it through but encountered plenty of glitches along the way. No one wants the random porting, revert this. At least I didn't buy the DLC, yet.

                      The Atheon fight still has so many bugs. 1) Time gates are still bugged, you don't always get through. This seems to be the most consistent bug and normally happens to at least 1 player on every run. 2) Atheon still can sometimes port less or more than 3 players. I have heard multiple reports of atheon teleporting all 6 players after the patch, this obviously results in a wipe. 3) Times vengeance will sometimes not activate even after all the oracles are killed. This has happened to me once but reports of it have seemed to increase after the patch. 4) Atheon can still be pushed off, its just slightly harder to do now. GG with the patch bungie please fix the bugs next time.........

                    • I've had an issue where it's saying that I'm being teleported but I end up outside still. The teleporting and the gates need to be fixed.

                      • Teleporting at random isn't a big deal. Play through the raid and you'll see it's still easy. So.... who cares.
