YEA! I GOT AN EXOTIC... aaaannnnndd now everyone has it, thanks Xür....
Ok so everyone feels this way, what's the point of a weapon being "exotic" if they're sold every other weekend by this tool of the nine? The very meaning of exotic is, and I quote "of a kind not used for ordinary purposes or not ordinarily encountered." NOT ORDINARILY ENCOUNTERED!!! They aren't "exotic if everyone encounters them! So here is my suggestion. With every public event, have a new exotic weapon and armor piece. There is a limited amount of time to earn enough reputation with that specific event, to earn yourself a true exotic item. Once the event is over, that's it! It's over, now everyone who toiled and ground out that event to get the exotic, truly has something to be envied. Something that few have earned, and nobody ever will again. THAT IS EXOTIC, THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.
Which brings me to my closing topic. Now everyone on the Destiny team is thinking. Well the people who don't have much time to play are shit out of luck. If it were me I'd say, "yea, to bad." However it's not me, and if you think everyone who badly plays will be sore about it. Implement a "pokemon" style trading system within the tower. This way people can have the oppritunity to trade for an exotic they missed out on. END RANT: EAT MY SHORTS XÜR

Well by that argument then all those legendary items that are sold by the vendors should be removed as well. Cause legendary is defined as something that pertains to a story or existence that cannot be verified. And I think that the definition of legendary is far more significant then something that is not ordinarily encountered.

4 RepliesNo, I paid full price for this grind fest and will be damned before I let another gamer tell me I don't have the right to something that's meant to be used by players. Your emotional attachment to gear/guns you've "earned" is all on you. That has nothing to do with us bud. So don't complain when you see someone else using a gun/gear meant to be used. Nowhere does it say you've earned the right to shame another player for the sh!t he has or how he got it. It's just a game by the way.

1. Exotic is merely a label to describe an item in the game. 2. There are exotics that are rewarded to a select few for actually doing something impressive (Vex Mythoclast). 3. If the exotic you have is being sold by Xur, you were lucky in even getting it yourself.

What's xur selling. Forgot to log today. I've been to caught up with a game that actually increases playability with patches and balances playable content based on actual unbalanced in game content, not the community PvPers.

Whenever I see a post like it most likely cause the author had a weapon and felt special because he/she had a gun not many people had. Then Xur sells it and they aren't special no more. I got two patience and time rifles from the raid out of a chest and this seems Xur sold it. Sure now I don't feel as special but I don't get mutt hurt. People like this just obviously must not have lives outside of their living room. Plus exotics really help lots of players play PVE while a short percentage play PVP. Shit I don't even know why I made this post. Blam!!! Or Fck

5 RepliesExotic weapons and armor are not status symbols. They are an integral part of the game's levelling system after level 20. The only "status symbol" gear in the game is RAID GEAR. and the Mythoclast.

I just think exotics found should have a different color skin than bought ones. Also gets annoying when you beat the nightfall and get exotic equipment that xur sells a few days later with better stats.

3 RepliesEdited by Logan: 10/30/2014 2:15:26 PMI'm definately with you on this mate.As nice as it is to get one Exotics are far too commonplace and Xur selling them only exacerbates the issue.Sometimes it seems Bungie are trying to sabotage their own game with their decisions.I kind of feel that all Exotics should be earned through bounties that must be done in solo play thus making them the badge of honour they should be. Some may consider that attitude a bit elitist but there you are; it's only my opinion.

You must have a thousand hours into the game if you think they should be jarder to get. 23 coins for an exotic isnt cheap. If your good enough to get than many coins you should have an exotic. Heck make exotics even more common but maybe make them longer to upgrade if anything. Most people have put in a lot of time so most everyone should have exotics

Exotic mean different, not rare. Everyone should have exotics, especially since all it takes is luck to get one. Xur is fine selling exotics because everyone else in the game is not so lucky.
