Ok so everyone feels this way, what's the point of a weapon being "exotic" if they're sold every other weekend by this tool of the nine? The very meaning of exotic is, and I quote "of a kind not used for ordinary purposes or not ordinarily encountered." NOT ORDINARILY ENCOUNTERED!!! They aren't "exotic if everyone encounters them! So here is my suggestion. With every public event, have a new exotic weapon and armor piece. There is a limited amount of time to earn enough reputation with that specific event, to earn yourself a true exotic item. Once the event is over, that's it! It's over, now everyone who toiled and ground out that event to get the exotic, truly has something to be envied. Something that few have earned, and nobody ever will again. THAT IS EXOTIC, THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.
Which brings me to my closing topic. Now everyone on the Destiny team is thinking. Well the people who don't have much time to play are shit out of luck. If it were me I'd say, "yea, to bad." However it's not me, and if you think everyone who badly plays will be sore about it. Implement a "pokemon" style trading system within the tower. This way people can have the oppritunity to trade for an exotic they missed out on. END RANT: EAT MY SHORTS XÜR
Shout out to DirtyRed! He came up with the basic idea.

Shut up you stupid maniac you just don't have enough strange coins
wah wah bitch wah wah
You may have it and think you are unique but let's face it, that won't last forever, because eventually some one else will also have it, it's called player equality.
-
Oh come ob, are exotics relly that important to you? You do realize that at the end of the day it's just a bunch of pixels, and all you're doing is pushing buttons. Sure, some game modes like the VOG require some skill and communication, but all that you'll earn from them are virtual things that have no value outside of your game session. If your characters were to be deleted, maybe you'd understand how much time and value you put in a VIDEO GAME, and how little it truly means. You shouldn't be so obssessed about having exclusive pixels, and start caring more about things in your life, and not make Destiny yours, unless you're a streamer or youtuber that earn their salary off it. Go do some creative stuff, meet new people, do some actual creative things, and try to have fun! It's only these things that will live on after you die (sounds overly dramatic, I know), not your fully equipped level 30 character on a soon to be forgotten game.

You think your the only one who had their exotic that they found sold by a black market vendor?
-
How do you think I feel. I look forward to seeing xur every weekend and when he sells something I already have I kinda get frustrated but hope for something of use next week. I got patience and time the day before he came from the raid and the week before that from a nightfall. I already had suros before last week. I wonder what he will sell next. Will it be my ice breaker again or will it be my bad juju? How about my truth that I got from the raid? Get over it. You yourself are a hypocrite if you were going to buy something from him to gain something you didn't have.
-
I saw a guy get patients and time from a crucible match, I didn't care. Mostly because it's a terrible exotic anyway. Get over it.
-
Gear isn't supposed to make you feel special. You are supposed to decide how to situational use it.
-
There's 23 exotic weapons in the game. You can only use one at a time. Don't worry, you're still a special snowflake.
-
Another precious snowflake melts away.
-
In my proposed exotic loot system, both RNG and Xur exotics could be desired: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/76528699/0/0/1
-
Who gives a -blam!-... He's gonna end up selling every non raid/bounty exotic anyway so no point crying about it.

Edited by Mercer Keel: 11/1/2014 6:07:51 AMOK bro here is what Destiny dev team is going to say.
No child left behind
and
everyone deserves a trophy
I'm so tired of normalization. Look some people are better at somethings then others; destiny stop trying to force baddies up to my level.

You have the mind set that you earned you exotic weapon/armor. You think because it took you awhile to finally get that piece of exotic trash, that you earned it. You didn't earn it. You don't earn any exotics except for bounty ones and the vex from hard raid. So that what im assuming you are referring to patience and time that you are hitching that everyone has now. Deal with it, honestly earning strange coins from the weekly heroic is more of an "earn" than just getting it randomly from rng.
-
The problem is you act like you earned that gear even though it was a completely random drop. As opposed to actually earning strange coins by doing a mission. Boohoo.
-
Boo-frakking-hoo, so you`re not a special snowflake anymore.
-
Sucks right? What'd be crap is if he starts selling Thorn. That seriously is a waste of working your butt up to the end.
-
I think you guys are more upset over my post than I am about Xür.
-
I see this every week. Take a step back and look at your post. You are complaining that a gun in a video game is now more accessible to other players. Get over it! Like seriously, stop wasting your time and space on these forums with your silly threads like this. Let them fix real problems rather than the fact that other people have the same gun as you. And btw I got patience and time my first raid ;) not a single. Complaint from me, in fact recommended it to a friend
-
Sigh... Happened to me too when I got ice breaker
-
Stop bitching. Exotics aren't even that great and make a minimal difference in PvE. PvP is a different story it apparently 90% of us don't for a shit about PvP so... Meh.
-
And.... if you didnt get it as a RNG drop. You would have bought it from Xurr anyways.

Edited by Duke Booter: 11/1/2014 10:14:23 PMThe correct definition of exotic: adjective 1. of foreign origin or character; not native introduced from abroad, but not fully naturalized or acclimatized: exotic foods exotic plants. 2. strikingly unusual or strange in effect or appearance: an exotic hairstyle. Everybody that complains about this

You have an exotic, stop bitching, enjoy your gun, have a nice day.
