Ok so everyone feels this way, what's the point of a weapon being "exotic" if they're sold every other weekend by this tool of the nine? The very meaning of exotic is, and I quote "of a kind not used for ordinary purposes or not ordinarily encountered." NOT ORDINARILY ENCOUNTERED!!! They aren't "exotic if everyone encounters them! So here is my suggestion. With every public event, have a new exotic weapon and armor piece. There is a limited amount of time to earn enough reputation with that specific event, to earn yourself a true exotic item. Once the event is over, that's it! It's over, now everyone who toiled and ground out that event to get the exotic, truly has something to be envied. Something that few have earned, and nobody ever will again. THAT IS EXOTIC, THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.
Which brings me to my closing topic. Now everyone on the Destiny team is thinking. Well the people who don't have much time to play are shit out of luck. If it were me I'd say, "yea, to bad." However it's not me, and if you think everyone who badly plays will be sore about it. Implement a "pokemon" style trading system within the tower. This way people can have the oppritunity to trade for an exotic they missed out on. END RANT: EAT MY SHORTS XÜR

It can remain the way it is. Just make the real desirables like gally and icebreaker one time sales and keep bounty exotics off limits. The first time he sold gally I didn't care about rocket launchers. When I got on the forums I realized how much ppl wanted it. Same with icebreaker. Passed on it then found out it was so good. Then I never saw them again.

Can we bring Pokemon into the game now? Does that only work on alpha and omega or can I use my Pokemon from other gen games? I'm totally going to bring my snorlax into the vault, it's gonna make everything so easy to kill when I put all the enemies to sleep! Are the going to link in other games too? I have heaps of furniture in animal crossing I could make the lounge under the docks much cooler and catching some bugs and fish while on patrol could be useful to cash in on glimmer! I actually hope he does so everyone can enjoy these fine weapons. Ice Breaker is as addictive as crack. Though my MIDA gets the most use, and hope he sells that again for those that couldn't get it.

14 RepliesI had to literally buy Patience and Time from Xur because RNG hasn't given me shit. I'm a level 27 with only one exotic weapon, Bad Juju. I haven't done the raid yet because I'm waiting for some friends to level up, so I've been stuck at level 27 for a while using the same rare sniper and rare auto rifle. It was ridiculous. I hear all of these stories about people getting exotics from playing tiger strikes and the crucible, yet through weeks of playing I haven't been given crap. Not to mention I haven't had ONE legendary engram drop in the weeks since that damn cryptarch patch. The ONLY legendary engrams I've gotten since that patch has been from leveling up the cryptarch, and they've only given me ascendent materials. So, I bought that damn exotic sniper. Xur's been my only saving grace at this point. Good for you that RNG blessed you. RNG hates me, so I have to find other ways to keep up with my level.

That is why they are exotic. Bare in mind just because you got one randomly doesn't mean you earned it. This is an RNG loot system nothing is earned. You could have a guy join a crucible match do NOTHING and get an exotic just the same you can have someone who placed 1st every game for 10+ games and gets nothing of value. The problem is you want to feel special and unique but even if the guns were made to be more rare (oh god I hope not) the amount of time people put into this game you can be assured many others will have it to. This game wants to give you the illusion of being unique but its an MMO and in MMO's everyone eventually can get everything. I love Xur cause I've put waaay to many hours on this game and the only exotics I've gotten that I like came from Xur. Everything I've found was not my play style or I just hated. This game would be profoundly more boring if Xur wasn't around to save the day.
