Destiny came and all of a sudden everyones "Pro". (A note on playerbase and the VoG)
Yesterday I played through the Vault of Glass fully for the first time.
It was great to see the beautiful design of it, but the problem was the people I was with.
For starters, it was a bunch of younger dudes who have a mouth on them xD
This guy was so proud to tell us how his lvl 30 has done the raid 100 times and that his own vault is filled with Legendaries and Exotics.
At first I was impressed, but once we got to the Templar... everything changed.
This was no longer the raid I played the first time, and died multiple times trying to do it legit.
No.
Instead, we had this lvl 30 telling me that "Hunter's are useless in the VoG". To which I asked why (considering we had a lvl 29 Hunter with us and I myself play as a Hunter), and he merely responded because they are.
Now it was only when we got to the Templar that I realised why I wasn't enjoying this.
The players were more concerned with glitching the Templar and Atheon, pushing them off the edge with their EPIC WARLOCK GRENADES, while me and another player sat in a corner, feeling goddamn useless. It sucked.
The whole point of a raid is to come together as a team and devise strategies to defeat the obstacles in front of you. I hardly felt like I even did anything in the raid, as these guys carried on talking about their "Amazing skills at pushing Atheon".
So, I sat in Atheons lair, literally hiding behind a -blam!-ing pillar while this dude compalined that Atheon was not going in the right spot.
I hadn't even shot a single shot at him, I hardly even knew what I was doing because this group were so focused on glitching him out.
I'm now on the Hard mode of the raid, but I don't dare go for it with another bunch of randoms for fear of sitting in a corner once more, listening to try hards as they talk about their 1000000 Exotics and Legendaries.
In conclusion, people are more concerned with glitching a raid and gaining loot, than actually finishing it legit.
[b]What is the point of glitching to get gear, when the gear is used for the Raid anyway? If you want play a dress up sim, go ahead and google a shitty flash game.[/b]

Dude I will join you. The most recent group I played with sounds like what you went through. It was fun up until the actual Templar fight. I was the only hunter and I was actually told to sit in a corner while they pushed the Templar off the edge. It work and went by fast but it was boring as hell. Now the atheon part we actually did legit. Sadly someone did complain that he wanted to push him off. The fire team leader mentioned that on his warlock character, he had an atheon checkpoint on hard. We decided to give it a shot and Jesus that was even more boring than the templar fight. For 30 minutes they argued that one warlock wasn't doing it right. Once they all got the whole idea they started getting mad that he wasn't in the right spot. While they did that, me and two other guys were just being teleported and killing oracle waiting for them to say "hey is falling off!" Or "it is working guys!". Finally one warlock got off them everyone got off...a huge waste of time.

Just wait for the baby bumpers to be put into the raid. You won't have that problem again.

So your complaint is you grouped with strangers, and you didn't agree to their strat. Ok and your point? I have been in plenty of PUG raids and my experience so far is half and half. Half the time we do it correctly, half the time we glitch in order to get it out of the way for hard mode. The fact that you stayed in group and collected your loot is a testament to just how much you "hate" in game exploits. Perhaps you need to go cry in some other corner while still being useless.

4 RepliesFirst off congrats on finally getting a raid run I have yet to see the inside of the vault of glass and have been playing since launch. I have often found myself wondering how is that people are already walking about noses in the air with elitists attitudes for game that's still so young. Using an exploit which is exactly what the Aetheon push is, is nothing to wave a banner about. Sure I get it it's there it's easy why not logic comes into play with these sort of issue's. But that's not what I'm here to gripe about what gets me is these elitist who didn't "go hard" actually thinking their better than other players, let's be honest what they did was read a post or watch a video that showed them how to push Aetheon and emulated it. But they'll judge another player who hasn't done the same and look down on them for not having all the exotics or not having any raid gear. Live and let live in the end I don't care who pushed what but don't go judging others who didnt use the exploit. I would really like the raid set for my Warlock but have yet to even do any part of the raid so if anyone raids on PS3 drop me a line and yes I do have a headset.

I agree. It's getting hard to find a raid group that doesn't want to cheese either the Templar or Atheon. It's getting annoying. Also I have a level 30 Hunter and was able to beat the raid on Hard. It's not just class but play style. My main is a 29 Warlock, so I have to adjust my play style every time I switch to my Hunter. Supers are useful but Hunters can still do fine if they are in the right hands.

12 RepliesHunters are unless in VoG hard mode, they dont have protection bubbles or self resurrection. Their GG barely damage the minotaur. You should be happy they let you in on the VoG, most legit raid team, only have warlocks and titans on conflux parts and hunter are excluded. You should stop bitching if you reap the rewards. At your level, you wouldn't even get pass the conflux if you want to do it legit.

Then 5 mins later the same with Atheon... Iam not in the position to judge others, but the cheesing during the raid would make a Swiss cheese producer jelly. PS: I hate the jumping part -_-

2 Replieswell if it makes you feel any better hunters aren't use;ees and one of the 2-man team that duo'd the hard raid was a level 30 hunter and they didn't glitch any section. also semantics, but any static grenade will cause the templar or atheon to walk away[not sure if hunters have beam grenades like titan, but the titan grenades also work] as for the dbag you were playing with there's one of those in every raid sadly. i have at least 3 or 4 people of the 20 or so i've added for raiding that the whole time are like, i have 87687243698761324 of every exotic and legendary and i've completed the raid over9000 times. Also everyone who glitches also says this sentence. "I've done it the legit way so now I just do it to save time"

Hunters aren't useless, but it's the less usefull class for sure, and hunters have nothing to help their teamates. Your whole commentary is stupid, if you don't like it just don't do it, change team or whatever. Yet you stayed. For the loot. Whiner.

4 RepliesI hear you on this bro. I've completed normal mode many times and hard mode once, legitimately. It was a great time. Me and a group of friends were lvl 27's doing the vault for the first time and took us about an hour to do the opening stage to get into the vault haha. We didn't look up how to do it or anything, we wanted to figure it all out on our own. Same went for the templar, gate keeper and atheon. It took us a good while lol. Now that I've done it many times, me and my group will occasionally agree to just cheese the templar and move on quickly seeing as we have tight schedules. But remember, it's not glitching persay. Yes, bungie had a certain mechanical way to beat each boss, but what they didn't figure is people are smart and will figure out different/easier ways to beat the bosses and it just so happens that pushing him off the ledge was one of those "easy" ways lol, or killing him from a sniper platform. They are all strategies people came up with.

Your Raid Leader should have responded better and said to you that they were only interested in exploiting the glitch. I've completed and attempted to complete the raid with people legit. But sometimes you have people on the team who begin to get weary of countless failed attempts at doing it the right way. Thats when they start wanting to use the exploits so we can finish it quicker. Ironically, I have often seen it take countless failed attempts of trying to push Atheon off before someone finally cracks it. In that time wasted with the whole team wiping for one person to try the exploit; we could have completed it the legit way already.

When you look for a group it's best to state you want to do a legit run. It may take longer to get a group but there are people out there that like doing a legit run.

Loved ur post. Hunters r definitely not useless, forget that dumb kid. I myself almost did the same thing as u last week. I needed to do the raid again with another character b4 the week was over but no friends were on. So i found a team, and boy were they annoying, bragging about a whole buncha exotics and legendaries and in a way showing off. B4 the raid begun they were saying it should only take 2 hrs since they were pushing both bosses out and i clearly posted on the forums i dont play with exploits (some ppl will argue this). So i just told the guys i had to go. Funny thing was as they were talking about the raid, they were mistaken about a lot of things, but i kept my mouth shut just because i didnt wanna hear their responses and didnt wanna make them lose credibility with the other poor souls that had to team up with them. Man i hope i dont run into ppl that annoying again

Because people thing being level 30 is more important than playing the game, although you've hit it spot on, raid gear is for raiding, so what there going to glitch it for the gear and then do it legit?

bungie needed to patch the push glitch immediately. I will never understand why they didn't fix something that is essentially game breaking.

I can totally agree with you on this, I completed the raid normally from lvl 26 onwards.. Playing with randoms and LEARNING how to beat it... Now unless we had someone new who wanted to go at it normally, we would just glitch him off... It's easier and less of a grind... Out of the raids I've done, the quickest, including glitching off the bosses... Was 67minutes.. Considering 3 people were new to the raid, it was a feat. Nonetheless, and that was without glitching... Every other raid there was time spent getting the glitch right, where it would've been quicker doing it normally

I enjoy talking legendaries and exotics. It's a good way to figure out what's the best way to play. Listen to other people's opinions or their "best ways to play". it's part bragging but it isn't just that its also informational. Hunters are not useless you can do alot with invis. invis saves your life and team mates it can also be used to block teleports. gold gun is a good way to ease pressure by taking out minotaurs and Pretorians and other tanky enemies. The atheon/Templar bug should have been patched two weeks ago.
