As someone who uses a shotgun, I say yes. Let's be honest, it sucks to get killed by and it's super cheap to kill with. Fun or not, it requires no skill.

I wouldn't say it requires no skill, but it is made easier by the radar and awful maps. Lets see who the real cqc pros are when they are not able to rely on shotguns.
