Who else is excited about non-raid lvl 30 gear?
I like to solo and I like PvP. I solo nightfall strikes like many, and I don't like having to find a group and to set aside hours of interrupted time for a raid. I do it when I am able, but otherwise I work on a second or third character. The thought of being able to get two pieces closer to thirty without a raid is great to me. I appreciate that some people prefer raids and groups to PvP, but while I was in that boat years ago, I no longer want to set the time aside to go raid a couple of times a week. I love that multiple paths are developing.
Edit: to clarify, I do raid. I just don't like having to plan my day around a video game. With missions and crucible, I can play for 30 minutes and quit if I have to, and I won't feel like jerk for leaving a group. I don't even think I'll quit trying to get all of the raid loot, but I like that there will be more than one way to get some gear soon.

I'll be excited about lv30 gear that's obtainable through normal PvE. Level-caps shouldn't by tied to gear, that's what gear-score is for. Silly Bungie! 😛

2 RepliesFor sure I'm looking forward to it. The RNG gods are being unkind to me and not dropping me any raid gear. The only issue is, I'm really bad at PvP so to level iron banner for me to get the gear is gonna be difficult.

You are reading it wrong. It's lvl 30 exclusive gear. Meaning you have to be a lvl 30 at the time you equip it. They aren't giving out gear that gets you to level 30.

I do the raid but I haven't gotten a helmet and leg armor, so yes I am excited that there will be other means to level up.

it'll be tuff to obtain, I'm glad PvP skilled players get a chance at level 30 as well. Although I'm good at both so which ever looks nicer ill take!

Edited by AnyOLName: 10/27/2014 2:59:46 PMYou still can't get to 30 without raid gear. Iron banner will only give you two of the four pieces you need to get to 30. You would need an exotic pieces and a raid piece or two raid pieces.

14 RepliesITT: Idiots who can't read and are going to be extremely disappointed when this event launches and they find out that the gear they THINK is going to get them to level 30 is actually specific rewards for people who are ALREADY level 30. Reading comprehension, it's obviously a dead skill.

i try to never solo any missions any longer. they arent hard, and i do like to do them alone however the servers are terrible and i constantly end up losing all of my progress. the first few weeks i was blessed with centipede, kingfisher, and baboon,rabbit,currant, constantly then bungie gave me a break for a week or so, now i keep getting bee, fly, hare, pineapple, and the dreaded ZEBRA which forces me to actually log all the way out to the dashboard or freezes my entire system. at least having your friend there allows you to get re-invited so you arent completely screwed to do it all over again. i still love this game and hopefully they will start working on real issues like servers and in game chat/sound errors instead of listening to crybabies whine about OP weapons, or loot caves.

2 RepliesI didn't even know there was non-raid level 30 gear? where did you hear about this? Yes I'm excited, the raid gear should be unique and desirable, but it shouldn't separate the player base in any level related way IMHO.

I agree with you. But the ironic thing is that you solo nightfalls... I promise if you find a decent team you'll compete a raid quicker than you will soloing a nightfall... And don't forget that raids saves your progress, so of you get a bad team and only make it half way in hour, you'll can just pick up and carry on, on a later day. Also your going to need to get to rank rank 5 to gar the gear from iron banner... How long is that going to take?

This should have been in from the start, RNG is a cruel bitch and the grinding is bad enough in this game. Grinding the vog and trying to get people together to do it has been a giant pain in the ass.

4 RepliesI am excited as I have no luck in the vault. Sure you might get some AFK players getting high level gear, but then is it any different to the players cheesing Atheon? I've seen lots of useless level 30s already and they have supposedly 'earned' it through the raid.

12 RepliesI think it's BS. There's gonna be kids that have never touched the raid that squire level 30 non-raid gear. The thing about the iron banner gear, is that you can be TERRIBLE and still be level 30.
