Ahhh, a fanboy thread. So, stop the press! New headline should read: First Person on Earth Announces CoD Retirement Then the article continues: ManOFAnathoth, resident of parts unknown, was the first person worldwide to officially announce that they are giving up CoD (or any other real shooter. i.e. 'the big leagues') in lieu of this month's featured flavor. His kind claim that Destiny blahzay blahzay.... Then there are the bandwagoner fanboys, on every single one of these forums, that will say ridiculous things as if the Destiny people will actually ejaculate over it. Like trying rationalize that Destiny is some how their preference by stereotyping an entire game's community as bigots, 12-year-olds, etc. 1. Those statements in themselves are the very definition of bigotry. 2.Unless you are younger than 12, out of the vast amount of people playing CoD in particular, one should be able create/join their own limited community or at least be able to be assertive about the ignorance of others. Every game forum has its fanboys. Even CoD. And, every game has its campers, glitchers, etc. Its usually these people that exploit weaknesses in a game's design or what not, that are a game's biggest fanboys. They have all kinds of reasons that their new favorite is supposedly and somehow better than whatever they are trying to bash. When in fact, all they really like about the new one is that they got the leg up on whatever "advantages" that the game gives them over the newer, lower-ranked players. Then, said fanboys will claim, 'No, no. We like it cause of the depth' or, 'We don't like "mindless" blahzay blahzay.' Or the story, or whatever else such fickle minded individuals might infer. Fact is, Destiny vs. CoD, is a comparison of apples and oranges. As in one is basically an RPG with some guns, (21st century guns btw) and the other is a lobby shooter. I guess apples and oranges isn't a good comparison though. More like horse poop compared to rabbit poop. I, for one, am glad I rented Destiny instead of just buying the hype. (same every year with CoD) Not that I hate it, but it really doesn't deliver... Depth is imaginary. It's just a time-hog that will probably develop into a money sink. Basically it forces weapons and gear upon you to keep getting stronger as a character. The timers on weapon and gear refresh should let everyone know that the game really isn't that deep. TIMERS are typically coincide with 'pay to win' browser games. No REAL character customization. This is a huge disappointment for an RPG. Vehicles are a joke. Floaters that don't drive very well...I would think that far in the future, that the technology would be better, that vehicles would handle BETTER than they do in the present day. Also, if everything has to fly, why can't it go higher than 5 feet from the ground? I got melee killed while on a pike, blasting the guy in the face who meleed me! That's lame...and stupid. Matchmaking is absolutely horrible. Throwing the pre-teens in with anything above 15 is not going to encourage any newcomers to stick around/buy the game. Story is ridiculous. There is no REAL story, just a bunch of clusterf'''' missions that are all basically the same exact thing. Multiplayer is lame. Aside from the horrific matchmaking, haven't been in a match yet where the main focus of the fight wasn't to ambush (get ambushed) the other guys with "special powers." It's basically just like WoW or DC Universe multiplayer....alot of potions and spells and crap. Plus 6v6? "Come on man!" I could go on but its already longer than I wanted to spend letting fanboys know who they are. CoD is a tested and proven franchise. I don't disagree that the franchise has steadily declined in comparison to MW4's level of fun. But, CoD is successful because basically any ole fool that walks up to console at a mall can jump right in and play....with at least a possibility of being essential to the fight. Destiny apparently expects the lower-level multiplayers to be slayed for a month before they can actually join a fight. If someone is sitting around at level 28 and everyone on their team is a 25+. Everyone on the other team is 25+. If that someone is not pissed about having a level 10 put in as their 6th player......If that level 10 gets put on the other team, or better yet, the other team is ALL lower-levels...If said person at level 28 actually has fun EASILY mowing down the lower-level, and are not disappointed that they weren't dealt a better MATCHUP, then said person is exactly the kind of exploitive fanboy that is labeled in my statements above.

  • ALERT, ALERT we have a CoD fanboy but seriously, none of us want to hear your b!tching about how CoD is better than Destiny. Most people here came to discuss about the game (being destiny) and not effing CoD. I, for one bought this game to escape CoD. I got sick of the purposeful lag and none existent skill gap. CoD is on a downward sale decline which means it will crash eventually. I've decided to get out before this happens, and in doing so realized that almost every modern onlne fps these days is better than CoD. I got titanfall, had a blast, played around on halo reach, that game is still great and had surprisingly low lag. but then i played CoD again, IT WAS SO BORING COMPARED TO THESE OTHER GAMES!!! and after that i don't think I'll be purchasing another CoD game any time soon. So destiny does have it's flaws but it beats CoD multiplayer. Also think about it this way, "what does advanced warfare offer that destiny does not?" xbox one/360 gamertag: MRgaming360

  • Your post is true, I put in quite a bit of time into destiny only to stop due to its repetitive game play. At least COD has better replayability than this shit. I may play some more when the dlc comes out but it's the same boring shit as of now. I look forward to Halo MMC and COD over this.

  • They're essentially the same game just with different models. The folks who like destiny seem pretty sound, not so much with COD. How many COD games are there now anyway? I stopped playing them after mw2

  • I'm going to assume your post is sarcasm because the other side of that coin is that you're the dumbest "Destiny Defender" I've seen in the entirety of this website... Or did you not read the part where he said he doesn't particularly care for CoD. You're a Destiny fanboy, plain and simple.

  • I think the lack of interaction overall classifies it more as a shooter indeed. Yup you can actually upgrade stuff but only that does not make a RPG. Skyrim is one of the best examples of RPGS in the recent years. Destiny is more like - KillaBunchOGuysKillaBunchOGuysKillaBunchOGuysKillaBunchOGuysKillaBunchOGuysKillaBunchOGuys ......

  • You must suck at Destiny's PvP then. I kill people above my level on a regular basis. Those people that are high level that "steamroll" players do so bc they actually are better than those being steamrolled. Level doesn't matter a bit in PvP if you're any good.

  • You spent way too much time on this response buddy. You're not going to change fanboys from being fanboys. Criticism and hate only fuels the fanboy 's passion and love for the company and/or game even more. So, that being said, your not accomplishing much.

Yeah when they don't care about the developers, or people that genuinely don't have much money and are casual palyers

Hell yeah. For 8-10 hour campaigns that you know you're not going to play for more than a weekend, renting is way cheaper than buying.

  • It's better than paying $60 for a game that can be finished in a weekend.

  • Hey man I agree with you. Personally, I didn't quit CoD because of Destiny, because I am really dissatisfied with destiny. I quit CoD because the game is just the same old shit recycled to different time periods. That's cool and all if you are into that sort of thing, but after playing every....single....CoD, since Big Red One, then transitioning to the online of Modern Warfare, I'm just burnt out on that game. But these fanboys for Destiny get really weird bro. They do get these creepy hardons for being spoon fed bullshit. Not rewarding the top performing players in the Crucible match, instead watching a kid that had a .31 K/D and no caps gets an exotic. The multiplayer is unbalanced compared to CoD and Halo. So I don't get why these kids feel like they are the players of this revolutionary game, and that they are the select chosen of some -blam!-in messiah, and that buy purchasing destiny, they have entered a New Era, of gaming, and anyone who might go back to CoD, or another game, are nothing but sinners, and should be stoned for their heresy. In reality, Destiny is a shit game. I still play it because there is literally nothing better for the X1 at the moment. But the second something new comes along, or Gearbox decides to make an X1 Borderlands series, then sadly I am stuck spending most of my time in orbit because I am bored.
