Been using thorn for a long time now and....
I actually don't think Thorn needs a buff. Its really strong as is. A buff to, say, magazine size, would put it head and shoulders above every other hand cannon and possibly primary (at least in crucible) in the game.
Can't speak for bad juju.

I agree. I really like my Thorn and the DoT is very useful in PvP. As a warlock though I go in and out of cover a lot and feel like I have plenty of time to reload.
-
Spot on, I don't think people realise the strength of hand cannons in general when you use cover effectively. Being able to go in and out of cover doing huge damage with very little exposure makes them far stronger than AR's on maps with medium to even long lines of sight. I mean, one head shot and two more bullets will kill anyone, and they dont have to be in that order. Two head shots and a sneeeze can kill them, in the case of Thorn, the poison can kill them.
-
With Thorn you don't even need the headshots. The DoT will kill with three body shots in rapid succession
-
In PvP it is great. It suffers in PvE vs other weapons.
-
I don't believe that, and I have used it in PvE almost exclusively since I got it. It has the same strengths, as is the case with all the unique weapons in this game. Stops shields on larger enemy's from coming back too quick and one shots pretty much all lesser minions. Not many guns kill 6 lesser minions in one clip! Now, I will say I usually rock my gunslinger with chain of woe perk. So reloads aren't as bad for me.
-
Just try The Devil You Know fully leveled vs your Thorn. You've got the one and you said you used it exclusively. I did too. Try it out with the other and compare. I'd be interested in your conclusion.
-
I would love too. I shall pray to RNGesus tonight and again in the morning and we shall hope for the best :) I do have Hawkmoon though, and I would say its stronger than thorn in PvE but not PvP.

Says you. My Thorn works just as well if not better than my other handguns. Probably because the reload forces me to not be as gung ho, which is a good thing. It meshes with and balances my playstyle very well. Just because a gun does not work optimally with your playstyle doesn't mean it's underpowered.
-
Wasn't talking about my play style, talking about the gun's stats vs other hand cannons, and moreover, the update promised but not delivered. I adapt. I love Thorn. I do. It's nice. However, nearly everything it can do, The Devil You Know delivers better. Specifically, I should say, in PvE. Beautiful PvP gun. Yeah 6 shot mag isn't amazing but it's rarely an issue. PvE though, with the slow reload, it's an issue. They talked about an update. Just wanted an update on the update. This is the feedback forum brother; I'm leaving feedback.

My experience is different. The long reload keeps me in cover longer so I let my shields regen fully. Considering I specifically mentioned the reload as a good thing for me and you think it's the main problem, don't you think it might be a difference in playstyle? For me, the recoil seems just right and the sight seems to find heads. I have a Devil You Know, and I prefer the Thorn because I can snap off my shots easier with it. It feels good. It's definitely powerful and with the DoT uniquely useful. I don't think there's anything wrong with another gun performing better in some people's hands, and I think the promised fix is in response to community displeasure and not an actual problem with the gun. So I am also leaving feedback asking them to carefully consider any buffs because I think it's arguably unnecessary and I don't want to see people complaining about how much it kills them.

You bring a good point, buffs (that were promised but not updated on, which is my main point to be clear) to Thorn will need to be carefully weighed to avoid it becoming overpowered. I do, in fact, play more gung ho as you put more often than you might. I'm running a warlock now; I've decided tonight that Thorn plus Comedian / Light/Beware for crucible is a good fit, with Devil and Ice Breaker for PvE. Again, to reiterate clearly, I'm interested in more info about the Exotic buffs they talked about, a clearer timeframe on implementation.
